It's about the most budget option in town, but lacks care and attention you might expect, and the price still isn't rock bottom. The receptionist was moody and seemed annoyed to get my business! The dorm is fine - just four rooms, clean beds with mosquito nets, but the bathroom was tired and in need of care. In conclusion, fine...

It's a budget option, but facilities definitively need maintenance. It's among lots of good hotels, so you can still find good food around, but it has it's own cafeteria if you're looking for cheap. The good thing it's that what you're paying goes mostly to help the comminuty. The receptionist called herself "Mama" and actually made me introduce her the...

Spent one night at YMCA. As it was quite late at night we did not want to spend more time searching for accommodation. When walking in, it looks abandoned but one taxi driver lead us the way. The room is cheap and seemed to be clean, but not very comfortable. Stayed at double room with fan and due to humidity...

The YMCA was a good place to spend two nights in Dar. Affordable, clean, and convenient. Friendly, helpful staff. Free breakfast in the cafeteria (eggs, toast, fruit, and coffee). Clean, basic room -- double had a single and double bed with mosquito nets, two desks, two closets, and balcony. Decent bathrooms. Lacking decent book swap.

For the money that you've paid one should expect more quality for a private room. There's no wifi so book a room at the top floor that'll enable you to use wifi from the Holiday Inn opposite of the YMCA. Female owner/receptionist has a tempo of a turtle stuck in the mud. Go to the Kisutu (Indian) neighbourhood for top...

From the driveway it looks closed, but walk inside for a friendly greeting by one of the staff. For 28,000tsh you get a double occupancy room relatively comfortable bed, with fresh clean sheets, a mosquito net and ceiling fan. Bathrooms are basic, but suited the purpose of getting clean after a hot day of travelling or being in the city....

With 28.000 TSH/person/night this is a average good place to spend an over-night in Dar. The rooms are okay, clean bedsheets and mosquito nets, shared bath in the hallway with only cold showers, and the location is close by the Garden Ave, a walking distance from KFC, and next to Holiday Inn Hotel, where you may ask to use the...

Yes it needs a lick of paint and its basic but the sheets where clean, the staff lovely, i felt very safe, yummy cheap food and stella the taxi driver is fantastic and will look after you very well. Location is great to wharf and everything else you need. I looked at rooms for $45 a night in Dar and...

When going to the YMCA, one will prob not expect any luxury. But you get everything you need, it's very central and cheap (TSH18k dorm/ TSH28k double), there are mosquito nets, they got a nice and tasty bbq outside and a decent breakfast (standard combo of omlette, fruits, jam and bread/ chapati). The rooms were reasonably clean with nice cealing...

The building is sketchy and seems to be abandoned, the bed was comfortable and clean, but the bathroom was absolutely disgusting. The location is good and you can find a nice Holiday Inn right across the street so that gives the area a safety feeling and a plus. The price you pay is overrated compared to what you get.
