To years ago we stayed at The Oyster Bay or the first time. At that time we had a day room, lunch and dinner. It as so special that we decided to come back which we did now. This time we stayed two nights at the beginning of our trip and had the dayroom and meals in the end. It...

Only 8 rooms but unless you need more, look no further than Oyster Bay Hotel. Must say right away that there are only two negatives to mention: Dar is a tough city and there are no good locations but Oyster Bay is facing the Indian Ocean behind high gates so you need only be able to see 15 feet or...

I wish I could have spent longer here. I stayed for 1 night, but during this short time we were made to feel like royalty. From the time we arrived, to the time we left, there was not a moment i felt homesick. It was indeed home away from home. From the hospitality of the team, to the views from...

My wife and I spent one night here after two weeks of scuba diving on Vamizi Island and a week of safari in Ruaha National Park. Our stay at the Oyster Bay was a superb end to a perfect trip to Moçambique and Tanzania. The Oyster Bay is so great that we actually discussed to try to postpone our flight...

I stayed there several years ago during flights, you are picked up from the airport by their driver and taken directly to the 'hotel'. It really is like being a guest in someones house not an hotel. Rooms are spacious with excellent bathing facilities and very comfortable beds. When you are ready to go to dinner you are met by...

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in, the staff, the surroundings, the food, everything about it was wonderful. I would not recommend swimming at the beach as it is very rocky and full of seaweed, we were warned about this by Sebastián the manager, but chose to ignore him, which turned out to be the wrong choice. What...

Short stay in October 2013 between safari and onward travel. Room was large and spotless, bed comfortable, staff helpful, food delicious and lounge area a pleasure to spend time in. So in short everything was good and it felt like a lovely place to stay longer for anyone that is doing that.

Before leaving Dar Es Salaam for a safari, we spent the day and overnight at the Oyster Bay Hotel. The rooms were lovely, the service was impeccable, and the meals were delicious. We could not have asked for a more perfect transition from a long overseas flight to an active safari itinerary.

Wow. Spotless rooms, personalized service, DELICIOUS food and absolute comfort. This exclusive, very-low capacity hotel (no more than 7 rooms I believe) makes you feel like royalty. The staff is 100% focused on your individual needs: everybody knows your name, what you like for breakfast, your sleeping habits, etc. There is not much to see or do in Dar (in...
