Two friends and I stayed here in December for 3 nights. The weather was rainy, but with Hamid Araissi as our guide we were able to still see sights, as well as see more intimate parts of Morocco. We were with him for two full days (rates were reasonable and well worth it), visiting Asilah one day and Chefchouen (the Blue City) the next. He had so many personal relationships along the way that deepened the experience. I cannot speak highly enough of his experience, and we could not have taken in more of Morocco in the little time we had. For a kick, look him up on IMDB. The hotel was located in a great spot. The bathroom was basic, but in line with the price we paid. Staff was attentive, courteous, and available. I will stay at Dar Omar Khayam when i visit next, and definitely have Hamid show me around.…
The hotel has a lot of character and the courtyard is lovely, a great place to relax - especially I imagine in summer. Rooms are fairly basic, but comfortable and clean with ensuite bathroom. Good location in the Ville Nouvelle, but easy walking distance to the harbour, Medina, beach, and train station. The staff are very nice and helpful, no problem there and it felt very secure. A warning though: some of the rooms have no heating or air con, so they are very cold in winter (and probably very hot in high summer - and if you open the windows, you would have to put up with the noise from the street and/or mosquitos). So make sure you ask for rooms in the courtyard, at the back, which look as though they've been recently renovated and modernised (with heating and air con). Breakfast is OK and standard for Morocco. All in all, very good value for the price, would definitely recommend staying here if you're on a budget.…
stayed on three occasions, on arrival and before departure from Morocco and after a trip to Marrakesh, rooms are around a delightful courtyard where breakfast is served. The ferry terminal, train and coach station are within thirty minuets walk.
This place simply feels good the minute you walk in. The way you are welcomed, the rooms are super, the atmosphere in the courtyard is spot on. The location to and from the centre and the beach couldn't be better. Recommendations for restaurant, superb. All in all, we will absolutely go back if we are in Tangiers again.
This place was horrid, we checked in and were taken to our room, the room smelt stale like urine. Our shower didn't work and the bathroom smelt that bad we couldn't even brush our teeth in it. Lots of noise all night, like someone was yelling all night, mosquitos were really bad in the terrace. They said they organised a taxi for me and my partner for 4.45 am we got down stairs were waiting outside for a guy to come out and say the guy never called the taxi last night but I can call you one so we just made It in time to the train. Pillows were like concrete. Just don't stay at this place guys it's not worth it
