A huge thank you from the Marrakech Biennale to Dar Fakir. We greatly appreciate your support in hosting one of our participants and our film program. Kerstin and Nordine went out of their way to make everything so seemless and just right. You have definitely helped us in making this edition of the Biennale a great success!

We had an amazing time at Dar Fakir. It is the perfect place to stay in Marrakech! Great location, beautiful rooms, delicious food and most of all amazing service! We felt just like home in this magnificent and luxurous riad thanks to the fantastic service of the hole team!! Thank you once again Houda,Norredine,Fouzia, Nadir and Kerstin for an amazing...

Only a few minutes walking distance from the main square in the Medina, Dar Fakir is by far the most elegant Riad I have come across in my various trips to Marrakech. Not only is it an oasis of calm & tranquility amongst the bustle of the Medina market, Dar Fakir is also superbly decorated in a signature style that...

i have just returned from my second amazing trip to Marrakech staying at the Riad Dar Fakir, from the moment I made contact to book to the moment we left I found the service faultless! We arrived at lunchtime after an early start from Gatwick Airport, after being shown to our rooms which were all exceptional and a welcome drink...

Just returned from Dar Fakir Riad- Great Website and Photos, unfortunately does not live up to reality when there. (does the camera lie?) My opinion is that it is overpriced for the standard of accommodation, and I could not recommend it to anyone, even though the day to day staff try their best. It is appoached by a series of...

Thank you for your feedback. It is good to know what you thought of your stay however I am surprised at the criticism of the entry to the riad - I know that you wandered the streets of the medina I am sure you will have realised that the streets in Marrakech in general are narrow and windy. I am...

We spent our first few nights in Morocco at Dar Fakir in Marrakech for our honeymoon. They organised our transfer from the airport to the riad which was essential otherwise we'd never have found it. We arrived quite late but were treated to a wonderful meal with wine. In the morning at breakfast we met Kirsten who spent time with...

There are over 600 riads in Marrakech and the journey into this one is an eye opener and a great insight into the culture & ambience of this wonderful city. The market area is a stones throw away but as soon as you start to walk down the alleyway towards dar Fakir you become very aware of the peacefulness descending....

We stayed at Dar Fakir, at a friends suggestion, for a weekend just before Christmas. I wanted to experience staying in a Riad, and this was the perfect anecdote! We were picked up by a driver at the airport, he was very friendly and efficient, took us straight to the medina/square in the old town and then a quick walk...

My wife and I stayed for four nights last month (November) with another couple. We found the personal service and location excellent. The induction chat at the outset was extremley useful and made one feel like a belonger from the off. Flawless arrangement of transportation to the Airport and the Atlas Mountains depicted the slickness of the operation. The Dar...

Thank you very much for your comments. I can assure you the house cat is not a voluntary addition but a sneaky cat that was escaping the weather. We have made sure the cat will not be so keen to return to the riad (animal lovers, be assured no harm was done to the cat) We have already looked into...

Had a perfect stay at the Riad. Very service minded staff. Nice with a short informal info " meeti ng". Great breakfast, tea marocco and wine. Location in the Medina (old city) was perfect. Close to everything! They also arranged taxi for 8, when needed. I would love to go back soon.

Hello, you girls did certainly bring some life into the riad during your stay. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed it and we always welcome larger groups. Maybe next time bring a few people extra and have an exclusive rental of the riad?

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Dar Fakir is a Riad de Charme located just 3 mins walk from Djema el Fnaa square. It reopened at the beginning of 2011 to visitors after a complete refurbishment. We differ from other riads in the sence that we offer an extensive service over other riads including not only the normal cooking courses but yoga, artisanal workshops and a very intimate service bordering onto concierge at very affordable rates. We provide extras such as meet and greet throughout your stay if required by our security guard during the evenings and at night. Mobile phones are provided to guests on request and are free of charge during their stay. We spend a lot of time with the guests making them feel welcome in the riad but also at home in the hectic maze of the Marrakech Medina. In total 5 languages are spoken in the riad - English, German, Swedish, French and the local Arabic, Darija. The rooms all have individually embroided bed linen made from Egyptian Cotton. The toiletries provided by Sence de Marrakech are Shower gel, Body lotion, shampoo and hand soap. For the Suite we can provide black soap and a gommage flannel. All rooms and Suites are decorated in elegant beige tadelakt on the walls as well as in the bathrooms. The floors have terracotta zellige. Rooms and Suites are furnished with traditional dark wood furniture in traditional berber style. The suites in addition have beautiful leather clad writing desks that tastefully match the decor. You will experience the ambience of arabian night in the evening when the handcrafted lamps and lanterns cast magical shadows on the walls. ... more   less
