The hotel is situated on a small alley. But Marrakech does small alleys very well. There is no feeling of danger.
Samira is the Modira of the Hotel she, and her staff, do everything in their power to make one’s stay a happy and peaceful experience.
Any questions - just ask. Not

We've traveled pretty extensively in the last year and I can say Dar Charkia is one of the most wonderful and hospitable places I've ever been. We arrived late at night and Rashid was right there to meet our driver, who we had arranged through the riad. Rashid led us through the

Thankyou so very much Jane for your wonderful review - we know our guests have busy lives so we are grateful you took the time to post a reivew. We are so very glad that you enjoyed your time in Marrakech and at Dar Charkia. We are a small outfit but we do try our best to put ourselves in the shoes of our guests who may be tourists for the first time to Marrakech and we try to make everything as simple as possible with the help of our specially annotated maps for our clients, information chat given by our wonderful Manageress Sami and back up in the rooms and so on. So we were delighted to hear that Dar Charkia offered you everything you needed to make your trip comfortable and accessible in the wonderful frenetic town that Marrakech is. Merry xmas to you and your party and wishing you a happy, healthy and peaceful 2019 and maybe our paths will cross again in the future. All the very best Lisa

Thankyou for your review - we appreciate you taking the time to post one - we are glad you enjoyed your time at Dar Charkia and dinner in house. The bathroom area with sink is not visible from the bed area with a large built in cupboard baring any view into the bathroom and that is why there is no curtain across the doors to the shower room area - this would also hinder light in this area. Thankyou for your suggestion and we will however look into this option

This was my first visit to Marrakech, alongside my Mum. Beforehand, we were sent lots of invaluable information from Lisa (one of the owners) to aid us for our time away and this got us both very excited. However excited we were we were also a little bit nervous, however we reall

Hi, i am looking to come to stay next April with my sister and her fiancé, would they be allowed to share a room even though they are not married? Thanks
Sure they would as long as you do not hold a moroccan passport this is allowed. If you are unmarried and hold a moroccan passport then this is against the law to share a room

Hi Jeanine everyone! We have booked our flights to Marrakech in October and are still searching for the perfect Riad (Dar Charkia a posibility), but we are also looking at getting the most out of our weeks stay. Which tour guide did you use for your trips? Like you said in your review, you knew people who went it alone and didn't enjoy it as much. All of the trips you did seems to be exactly what we would love to do. I have been advised a trip to the desert is tricky for a day. Is this so? Would you say staying in one read for a week is the right hing to do or would you suggest splitting the stay between the medina and Palmeraie/Havernage areas? Many thanks Charlotte
Dar charkia have a fantastic specially annotated map that they produce for their clients and their manageress gives a full information chat that goes with the map on everything you can imagine . Official guides are the only guides who are legally allowed to operate and a half day orientation in the souks and around the medina is all you need and then you can do other things yourselves. Dar Charkia is brilliantly located in the medina - if you stay in the palmeraie you will be ripped off every time you have to get a taxi into the medina where it is all happening and it takes around 25 mins.

Hi, I realise that Morocco is a Muslim country and therefore alcohol is viewed differently to how Europeans view it. Does the hotel serve alcohol? We enjoy a glass of wine with our meals and a cocktail of an evening. Many thanks
Yes it does like a lot of places Morocco is more open and modern in its attitudes in comparison to other Muslim countries

Thinking of coming here for a family holiday 6adults 2 children for my parents 80th birthday in April . We need a pool & sun terrace close to safe amenities. Is it cheap to eat & drink out as budget a little tight as we have to come in school holidays . Thank you in advance for replies x
We are located in the good area of the palace of Dar El Bacha - nothing is cheap cheap anywhere anymore but there are places that are cheaper than others. Eating in the square is reasonable and on booking with us we send out our list of restaurants etc. All the best

We Are Coming in car is there parking?
We are in the neighbourhood of the palace of Dar El Bacha. The best thing to do is to park in the 24 hour parking area by the Hotel Jardins de la Koutoubia. This is protected parking. When you come into Marrakech aim for the Jemma El Fna square and there is a one way system. You will see the square on your right and just after seeing the square you will see a crude 24 hour Parking sign at the end of a street where the Jardins de la Koutoubia hotel is located and at the end of Rue Fatima Zohra - we are at the other end of this street Rue Fatima Zohra - about a 6 minute walk away - alternatively you can try to park along the street of Fatima Zohra and walk towards Dar El Bacha. If you do this you will have to pay around 20 dirhams to a watchman.
