Our receptionists are skilled at answering your pre-booking queries AND everything that can possibly make your stay in Marrakesh a holiday to remember. We will welcome you to our riad as we would friends coming to stay in our home. We have 12 rooms, individually styled. Our riad has a long history of ruin and grandeur, like many old riads, in the middle of the old city of Marrakesh. There is an interesting story behind everything in Morocco. We are perfectly situated at the entrance to the old souk and close to the Djemma el Fna Square. Taxis and transport are just outside our door. We have a swimming pool and hammam, jacuzzi and sun longing rooftop area. We offer practical advice and warm, caring support during your stay. We have a good restaurant onsite - with a delicious breakfast but also open for evening meals - some delicious Moroccan food alongside Italian specials, a local musician and rooftop views. Come stay with us and you will not be disappointed!

Nestled in the Medina, Riad Dar Anika is often described as a tranquil oasis, offering a serene escape with its traditional charm and homely atmosphere. The hotel's staff are widely applauded for their outstanding service, contributing to the overall positive experience. While the rooms are cozy and exude traditional decor, some guests note they can be small and occasionally noisy. Cleanliness is a high point, with immaculate rooms and well-kept communal spaces. The amenities, including a relaxing rooftop and pool, add a touch of luxury, even if the Wi-Fi can be unreliable and the pool on the smaller side. Travelers' views on value vary, but many appreciate the Riad's amenities and the personal touch of the staff.

We had the most wonderful experience staying in Riad da Anika in central Marrakesh for a long weekend.
The riad is over 300 years old and reflects the layout and style buildings of its era. From the minute we arrived, everyone was friendly, warm and professional and couldn't have done more for us. From the welcome introduction by Ahmed who told us what we needed to know about the riad to where key locations are and also, how to handle the culture of the bartering, the busy square, how to be safe and little tips to keep the new visitor to Marrakesh on the straight and narrow- being friendly and polite goes a very long way! Almost immediately once you leave the home from home of the riad and its staff and your room, the business of the world outside is right there!
As is traditional, our room was small with an en suite and inwards facing window and lots of small detail that made it historically appealing. Fresh fruit and treats were always there to be nibbled on plus endless water to drink and staff to clear away wet towels and make the room clean, ready for bedtime. I'm sure the air con is perfect in summer months.
Food was great- a typical, local, but very filling fresh breakfast served by staff who really seem to care started off the day on the right foot. Similar service in the restaurant in the evening too (where there also was live music) as we ate as much as possible from our very generous helpings of Moroccan food and wine. The rooftop panoramic bar (there is also a sunbathing area and cold-tub on the roof) is small but there is a larger bar on the floor below with a range of alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks available plus lots of Moroccan mint tea.
There's a small pool on ground level and also a tiny hamman (don't miss getting a scrub by the fabulous Kamissa) near to the pool too.
We enjoyed exploring some of the historic locations nearby with a local guide recommended by the riad and had an excellent day trip into the High Atlas Mountains (also arranged by the riad) with a lovely driver, Amin, and one of the best guides that we've ever met (world wide), Hassan. He took us through local villages, to waterfalls, up and down the mountainside and eventually, to a delicious lunch prepared by a lady in a village which we ate sat on cushions looking up at Morocco's highest peak and the other beautiful mountains. An experience not to be missed (unless your health or footwear isn't up to the job!).
The riad was an excellent base, a home from home and a real treat making our stay a really relaxing experience that we'll return to very soon. Thanks to everyone involved.

Simply put, if you are unsure of where to stay in Marrakesh, dont look further than Dar Anika. We have never been better treated in any Hotel we have stayed in over many years.
Firstly, the location is fantastic, it is easily walkable distance to all of the major attractions you would want to visit in the Medina, particularly the Palaces and the Jemaa el-Fnaa square. It is located right within the Median itself and we always felt completely safe.
On arrival, the staff presented us with snacks and Green tea to welcome us whilst checking in.
The room was fabulous, like the Riad, it was decorated in a traditional manner, but was also modern and very clean. The argon oil based toiletries in the bathroom are excellent (they even presented us with some when leaving!).
Breakfast was included in the stay and was really excellent. Morrocan Soup, followed by Fruit Salad with Yoghurt, beautiful Omelette and then freshly baked and fried pastries. All served with freshly squeezed fruit juice and Green Tea.

But the very best thing about this Riad are the staff, who could not do more for us.

They went to enormous effort to voluntarily detail exactly where local sights were, routes to walk to them, restaurants we might be interested in and essentially created a "go to" map for us.

We had a medical issue (broken leg unfortunately!) towards the end of our stay and the Riad staff were immediately contacting us over Whatsapp to ask if there was anything they could do, whether they could organise transport etc. They volunteered to order in food from nearby if we needed it, to arrange breakfast in the courtyard to remove walking, were happy to help with insurance requirements, but went so far beyond anything we would have expected- even going as far as arranging flowers and packed lunch for us. People sometimes say that there was nothing a hotel wouldnt do for them when asked, but the staff went so far beyond what we would have even imagined to ask in terms of thoughtfulness.

All of this helped create such a wonderful impression of both Marrakesh and more important the Riad and we concluded that we absolutely must return in the near future.

They have been three wonderful days, unforgettable, we have been treated to 10, reception, rooms, decoration, location, always attentive to anything we needed, dinners, excursions, transfer to the airport,...
The breakfast is very good, delicious and delicious.
A swim in the pool in January that feels good and the visit to the Hamman left us as new.
Thank you very much Marietta you treated us wonderfully.
We would definitely be back.
Highly recommended to disconnect and spend some wonderful days.

Dar Anika is beautiful and very well located, at the entrance to the Medina, but easily accessible by car. The staff are very attentive, as is the rule in Morocco, and the breakfast is excellent. We went past coffee hours a few times, but we were always served with the same quality and diversity of options. The Riad is small and the entrance can be a little scary, but when you enter, you realize that everything is very well looked after and the spaces are quite spacious. The only negative point is the price, which I found a little high, especially when you consider that Marrakech has vast - and great - accommodation options. Anyway, it was a good experience.

The best hospitality ever experienced before.
I spent three fantastic days for my birthday. I am about to leave for Italy and I already miss coming back.
A true oasis of peace, tranquility, care and hospitality.
We were followed throughout, I received for my birthday real rose petals at midnight, at breakfast in the morning the staff arranged for me a full birthday cake.
Unparalleled hospitality, the reception staff always available and ready to respond to every need.
This makes the difference: room always cleaned up every time we left the room, change towels, many thanks to Faitha for fixing our room, very honest person, all our belongings were in their place always neat. Change soaps, dates and milk always present in the room upon our arrival, as well as fruit.
Breakfast with an impeccable welcome available at 6:00 at our departure, and until 11:00. The breakfast staff very kind, smiling. The gentleman had worked in a Riad run by an Italian, it was a pleasure to wake up in the morning and see their smiles.
The reception girls, always kind and smiling, helpful and efficient. Thank you I think it was the best birthday of my life.
Beautiful pool in the shade to relax.
Thanks also to Youness for escorting us to the taxi for the return trip.
A true 5-star service!!
Riad Anika is definitely the best choice for a trip to the Medina, a few meters walk from all the tourist attractions of the Medina, the Suk, the taxi stop.
Surely in my return to Marrakesh I will choose Riad Anika.
Thanks for everything 🙏

We booked Dar Anika based upon the reviews we looked at when booking. We were not to be disappointed.

The taxi that we organised with the hotel was waiting for us outside of the airport as arranged and we were dropped almost at the door.

On arrival it was very clear that the staff had one mission and that was to ensure our stay was comfortable, safe and enjoyable. They achieved this with distinction, they can't do enough for you and are an asset to the Riad.

Our dinner in the Riad on the first evening was good but not outstanding, this is one of the reasons I have given 4 instead of 5 stars.

Our room on the first floor was over the road that runs into the Medina so in the morning and early evening there was some noise but not disturbingly so. As is traditional in a Riad the rooms have only very small windows and this meant our room could get a little stuffy and dark, but that is part of staying in a traditional Riad. All of the communal areas of the Riad were beautifully kept and it felt like we were staying in an historical building. We had the Hammam and massage treatments whilst we were at the hotel and they were wonderful. Overall we would recommend the Riad as a good place to see the sights of Marrakech. The staff and the hotel generally are very good.

The location of the riad is perfect, within easy walking distance to most sites and near a taxi rank for venturing further afield. The place itself is really beautiful, and provides a serene oasis from the hustle and bustle just outside the door. Our room (#3) was perfect, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. The public areas are lovely, with a choice of comfortable seating areas to relax in with a pot of tea. The service is really outstanding, every member of staff we met was so very welcoming, friendly and so thoughtful. From the housekeeping ladies who left us delicious milk and dates (& a hot water bottle in the bed) at night, to the reception staff, the doormen and the waiters - everyone was lovely. The breakfast was delicious and generous. We had a wonderful time here, and would definitely love to return!

Just returned from a great 5 night stay at this Riad. Really can’t fault it, from the moment the pre arranged taxi dropped us off to our departure, we were treated to warm, friendly Moroccan hospitality, nothing was too much trouble. The rooms aren’t the biggest and at times are a bit noisy but hey that’s what you get staying in the centre of Marrakesh! The location was spot on with easy access into the medina and a taxi rank nearby for trips further afield. Breakfast was lovely, even though having soup was at times unusual but assume traditional. Water, mint tea and coffee were free and we got milk and dates delivered to our room every evening. We had dinner here on our first night which even though is a set meal was delicious and you probably only need 1 meal between 2 as the portions were generous and there were several courses. If there was one thing that could have been better it was the roof terrace, which with a few sunbeds and a hot tub (cold which was needed!) was nice to sit on after a day of touring or to watch the sunset but it would benefit from a better arrangement, more sun shades and some homely touches (plants/lamps etc). Overall if you’re looking for a Riad where you’re warmly welcomed, nothing is too much trouble, in a good location then stay here.

We had a fantastic stay at this beautiful riad. The location is fantastic, just a short walk to many major sites, close to parking if you have a car, and easy access to taxis if needed right in the nearby square. The riad itself was so quiet and peaceful inside, and beautifully decorated. Our room was very spacious, beautiful, clean, and quiet- and we enjoyed a greater sense of privacy here than in some other riads we stayed in during our trip to Morocco. We loved the rose petals at check-in. There is a lovely shaded rooftop terrace where we enjoyed a delicious breakfast.

The best part of our stay, however, was the exceptional service. The manager and all of the staff were so fantastic, going above and beyond to make sure we had a great stay. We had a evening flight on the day we checked out, but there was no problem safely storing our luggage, and when we returned from a little site seeing out in the Medina, we were invited to relax in the comfortable room off the lobby, and were even served tea and cakes while we waited. They even packed up some fruit and sandwiches for us to bring with us for our journey!

We highly recommend this riad, and would absolutely stay here again if we have the pleasure of returning to Marrakech in the future!

I got the best service in this outfit. First, the hospitality of the people of Marrakesh is exemplary. When you reach the facility, you are greeted with utmost respect and provided with courtesy emblematic of this culture's hospitality.

We left for desert the next morning. The hotel staff anticipating that it will be a while for us to find a suitable hotel where we would have access to proper shampoo, packed sandwiches, fruits, and toiletries for. Where else you would find such level of customer service.

I highly recommend anyone who wants to visit the city to stay at this fine establishment.

Hello Ronnie, thank you for your question. I am happy to inform you that we do offer airport transfers at a cost of 22euros for Marrakech airport. All of our rooms have in-room safes which are large enough to accommodate most laptops and other valuable possessions you may have. Also, you are able to lock the doors both from the inside and with a key from the outside when you leave the room. Have a lovely day and we look forward to seeing you if you decide to stay with us!
