I stayed at Riad Azzar for five nights while attending the climate change negotiations. The Riad was a stunning and serene place to escape from the hustle of work and the Medina. Cees and Maryk were so lovely and accommodating it truly felt like a home away from home. Breakfast on the roof terrace was delicious, dinner by the fire...

We were looking for a (small) hotel with excellent service in the center of Marrakech. That we have found. Dutch/english speaking manager. The rooms are fairylike. The manager made all the excursionscalls for us and they were all top. The desert trip with overnight stay, the cooking course. This trip we really never forget. The ride to the the Andes...

We just returned from two wonderful weeks in Morocco. Beginning in Marrakech at Riad Azzar was a lovely entry to our adventure. Riaz Azzar is peaceful, tastefully decorated. We looked forward to going to the rooftop terrace every morning for our lovely breakfast served by staff who were so kind, patient with my minimal-French/Arabic, generous in all ways. Our room...

We arrived at the riad early evening to be told that it was under renovation and were told that they could take us to a different riad. There was no sign outside the riad so we had no way of telling whether it was the right place or whether they were telling thr truth. They told us that they had...

My boyfriend and I were recommended to stay at Riad Azzar by friends of ours who had had a wonderful experience staying there in 2012. We were impressed by the personable standard from the prompt correspondance prior to arriving, to the fresh fruit welcome, the beautiful room, plunge pool, local information and rooftop dinner. We would definatley recommend this stunningly...

After a wonderful stay in a glorious small riad in Fez we found the Riad Azzar a disappointment. Our rooms were nice enough but breakfast was skimpy and dinner good but uneventful. What was missing was the warmth, care and attention from our hosts that we came to expect in Morocco.

Cees and Maryk, owners of Riad Azzar and Riad Siwan, both in Marrakech, have created in their riad restorations, an elegance of place, filled with art, and design/finishes that compliment the Moroccan heritage, restore it in many ways, yet provide the modern conveniences so welcome after a day of hectic travel. Can't compliment these facilities enough. And the food was...

My husband and I have just returned from a week at the Riad Azzar. We could not recommend this Riad (or indeed its sister riad, Riad Siwan) highly enough. Riad Azzar is a beautiful and traditional riad just moments from the main square - Djemaa el Fna. It only has 6 rooms, so ideal if you want to stay somewhere...

My husband and I just returned 4 day stay at the Riad Azzar. The location in the Medina is perfect- very central and easy to dip in and out the bustle of the stalls and cultural attractions, yet quiet and peaceful inside.  The inn-keepers, Cees and Maryk, are incredibly hospitable and make you feel welcome the moment you arrive. Our...

Stayed at the lovely Riad Azzar at the end of July/beginning of August. Cees and Maryk were so helpful with advice on where to eat and what to see. The room was very comfortable, and am glad we chose one with airconditioning! The location is perfect for exploring the square and the souks, doubt we would have managed to find...

“We stayed at Riad Azzar and chose our room for bigger size and the beautiful alcove sitting area (with the carved wood screen for viewing into the courtyard.below). Riad Siwan is a newer renovation, done entirely by Cees and Maryk, and the design elements throughout will, honestly, just knock your socks off - it's just astounding. Either location will be a real treat for you.”
