El Fenn is an absolutely beautifully designed riad in the medina of Marrakech. The service is fantastic and it was a delight to stay here. We did have three specific points of improvement for the room we stayed in (room 5): 1. there are no doors to the bathroom section, which is a bit awkward. 2. the room itself is...

We were lucky enough to stay at this gem just a few weeks ago. In a word it is STUNNING. So many nooks and crevices I am sure we missed some hidden treasure. We would wander around just gasping in delight at each turn. 3 pools, countless private places to lounge.. The rooms are gorgeous, and private with bathtubs meant...

We had four days in this amazing paradise, and I would absolutely have given it five stars was it not for some minor mishaps: The tub in our bedroom leaked water when emptying it (a lot) - it was fixed asap and by super friendly people, but of course it is not perfect. Also, the mint tea on the rooftop...

Just back from a great 5 nights at El Fenn, What's good: central location within easy walking distance of all attractions including the new town; rooms are large and very quirky; the fantastic roof terrace with restaurant and plunge pool is a great escape from the hurley burley of Marrakech and is where the excellent breakfast is served; and friendly...

There is nothing like this place. It could be the best hotel I've ever stayed in. The service, the style, the rooms, the view, the location, the comfort, is second to none. All the rooms are uniquely designed. It has an amazing pool and a roof top pool. Chic to say the very least.

We (Father & Son) loved the place, the staff and the location. Rated Vey Good, because we stayed at the Little Sisters, just a 3 minute walk away. Although a wonderful annex, it missed the warmth and the spirit of the El Fenn.

Thank you for your review. It was a pleasure to host you and your son and we appreciate the compliments. I'm glad you found the little sister riad wonderful, we are sorry it did not perfectly suit you. It is very popular for guests seeking extra privacy, despite it being a few minutes walk from the main building. As you...

Truly and oasis of calm amongst the bustle and hubbub of Marrakech. The rooms are large and lovely, the courtyards verdant and cool, the roof top and welcoming eyrie and the pools are languid bowls of cool - so very welcome on a return from the hot dusky madness that waits outside - Marrakech!

El Fenn offers a unique experience...We came for my husbands 50th and the upgraded room was such a treat...so tastefully decorated, maintaining a sense of old Moroccan chic with elegant modern takes. Thank you to all the staff who made our stay so memorable...I could not fault it ...we will be back!

We arrived to a very friendly and welcoming staff who gave us the choice of two beautiful rooms. We traveled with our 11 month old son and they did everything they could to accommodate us and make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location is wonderful and the property is stunning! Even though it's centrally located in the Medina,...

Whether you book online or by email, our team are on hand to answer all your questions from pre-booking to check-in and even after you're gone. With 20 individually styled rooms and suites, a four-bedroom private riad, 3 swimming pools and its own hammam spa, El Fenn is a unique boutique hotel combining grandeur and historic architecture with hideaway nooks, terraces and gardens - making it the most peaceful place from which to enjoy Africa's most exotic city. Our story began with two friends on the hunt for a small riad to buy as a holiday home. It was 2002 when Vanessa Branson and Howell James walked into the almost ruined courtyard of one of Marrakech's formerly great private homes. Nearing dusk and with the sound of the muezzin's call to prayer echoing in the air, they instantly fell in love with the atmospheric house which was being sold with three smaller neighbouring homes. They soon realised that their holiday home was going to become so much more.At the time, only a handful of Marrakech's riads had been converted to small hotels and Vanessa and Howell knew they wanted to open a place offering something different - a home from home retreat that combined great food and service with the spirit of the building's past and a contemporary decorative twist. During a two-year renovation, local craftsman used traditional techniques to breathe new life into the building. Polished lime plastering was used in a rainbow of colours to create walls, baths and bed frames, original tiling was renovated and carved cedar ceilings restored. Retro furniture sourced from local flea markets was combined with one-off bespoke pieces to create a unique interior. ... more   less
