We stayed for one night in this riad and stayed in a room which was absolute luxury. The decor was amazing - lots of artifacts from all over the world. The bathroom contained a magnificent copper bath which we did not actually use but looked amazing. I suspect care would require taken by visitors not to use too hot water!... More

Calm little haven in great location. Staff very helpful and kind. Breakfast delicious. Taxi rank very close to the Riad so if you are finding yourself getting a bit lost, grab a taxi for 50-70 dhms and it will get you most places in the medina and the new town. We got an airport transfer on our first day so... More

Marrakech stole our hearts and this Riad served as the oasis in the desert. As others have said it is beautiful and tranquil, the rooftop is amazing with mint tea and the sounds of prayer in the air. Not to mention turtle friends. The room was excellent, clean, and spotlessly maintained by the staff who even folded our clothes. The... More

Couldn't have been happier with our 3-night stay at Palacio de Las Especias. Located a short walk from Riad Laarouss parking, this riad is a little slice of heaven. We were greeted with warm hospitality and immediately felt at home!! The interior decor of Las Especias is one of the best I've seen - a wonderful fusion between local architecture... More

Hi, My daughter and I visited this fabulous hotel a couple of weeks ago. I can't score it highly enough. I'm an interior stylist and the interior was everything I hoped for. The pictures on their site are spot on. Colonial styling with beautifully placed traditional moroccan touches. The sound of 1940's music playing softly in the background and small... More

This hotel (riad) is exquisitely decorated and furnished and provides a refuge in a chaotic city. The staff are exceptional and the rooftop area a haven to have a cool beer or wine at the end of a hectic day that is only experienced in a city like Marrakesh. Its also close to some real restaurant finds in the city.... More

Where do I start with this - booked from Tripadvisor reviews for 12 of us booking the entire Riad for a long weekend. The experience was fantastic from the start. Arranged an airport pickup (recommended - you will never find it otherwise) and met by the staff to take our bags and have the first Moroccan tea of the holiday.... More

We loved this friendly, welcoming riad. We had arranged a taxi through the hotel so there was no trouble finding the property (quite hidden up a little alley). Our room was beautiful with a lovely sitting area and bathroom. Simo and the rest of the team there could not have been more helpful, kind and attentive. The breakfasts were great... More

This riad is tranquility away from the madness of marrakech. As soon as you stepped inside it felt like home. The decor is lovely and really well finished with some great attention to detail with interesting artefacts dotted about. The rooms are really nice, very clean and well presented. The rooms are cleaned daily along with new towels. The breakfast... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Palacio de las Especias recovers the splendour of a building erected in the 19th century. The building was originally owned by the Echerid family, who were spice merchants but, unfortunately, the years and neglect had taken their toll. Today, respecting the original building, but adapting it to provide the comfort that an establishment of this nature deserves, it opens its rooms from within the heart of the Medina, in order to provide its visitors with the enjoyment and relaxation they are looking for. The decor of its rooms, the coolness of its patios, the murmuring of its fountains and the peaceful evenings on the terrace mean that resting inside its rooms becomes the happy ending to a perfect day. ... more   less
