Travellers' Choice
El Miria Palace is situated on one of the oldest oases of Marrakech. It was recently built in the purest Arabian-Moresque style similar to the grand vizier's residences. All the rooms of the hotel have the comforts expected in an establishment of very high standing to incite guests to feel like Sultan and Sultana.

I decided to come back because I had to show my parents this beautiful calm riad. The first time I came , I enjoyed it so much. I felt a very warm welcome from all the employers and from the manager. They helped me so much during my stay and made me feel like home. So I wanted to come back with my parents . Once again we enjoyed our stay , they loved it soooo much , we had a chance to go to the hamman they have and get a full body massage wich was really good. What I ALSO loved was the moroccan food they offer at the Restaurant. We tried every tagine they have, which i truly recommend. We spent 5 days and we wished we could have stayed more since it was very relaxing . My parents want to come back and we definetly will come back. PS; TOTALLY RECOMMEND

I've stayed in Marrakech four times in the past year, usually in Riads. Palais el miria is one of the most beautiful I have seen, and the owner is the best host I have encountered , which says a lot because in my experience the service and hospitality you encounter in these hotels is always of very high quality. You can feel the kind welcome as soon as you enter. It's such a peaceful oasis. The smell is great and the suite we've booked was AMAZING. We had a massive bathroom with a private garden. The beds were very confortable and you could feel such a good ambiance in the room. We had breakfast by the pool and enjoyed the nice weather listening to the birds. I'm already planning on coming back and managed to organise a booking for next month. I will recommend this to anyone who want to enjoy a peaceful stay in a calm area of the busy streets of marrakech. Thank you to the helpful staff and the very friendly owner Badia. You made our stay 100% confortable. See you next month.

Had one of the most relaxing weeks holidays ever. The accommodation was second to none, so clean and spacious. However, it was the staff who made it. Their attention to detail was second to none, they could not do enough for us. Will definitely return

When we arrived, we were placed in room 10. It was truly awful. It was dark and dingy with a gap in the door to the outside garden. Cockroaches could have easily slid through the door at night. I couldn't stay in the room and was very upset. After speaking to the manager, we were "upgraded" as they like to call it to a much better room. This room was a was clean and comfortable. For three days we coun't use the pool. It was green. It took us and another couple complaining, to get it up to scratch. The jacuzzi was also out of bounds for three days. But this was eventually filled with water. Ultimately, the pool issue ruined our holiday. The riad is in an isolated location and the only way of getting into central Marrakesh is via their recommended taxi service. No other options are available. This costs around £17-18 return. Something we hadn't budgeted for. It's worth noting there is a small village ten minutes away on foot if you need to buy bottled water. I'm sure there would be a bus into Marrakesh from there. But we were a little intimidated to walk down and check this option out. The food at the hotel is awful. Tasteless and bland. Dinner is very expensive so is the beer and wine. They run a low bar stock, so sometimes there is no beer available but considering it costs £5 for a small bottle - this wasn't much of a problem. Breakfast consists of stale bread mostly and heated up coffee. If you want an omelette you have to ask for it. The WiFi at the hotel isn't great and cuts in and out depending on how many guests are using it. We found it odd when a couple of times we came back from town at 10pm and it was lights out, with only the security guard for company. We had no option but to hang out in our room. All the staff at the hotel were lovely, especially the cleaning ladies and waiters. The manager lady, wasn't as nice and made us feel uncomfortable after we had complained. Marrakesh is a truly magical destination but our holiday was ruined by staying at this riad. Do yourself a favour and don't believe the hype.

We've just returned from a week away at the hotel and we had a lovely time. As mentioned in previous reviews, we were originally placed in room number 10. We were happy in this room; it was well equipped, had everything we needed and was well decorated. It is a smaller room, however this caused us no issues as it was very cool which is needed in the August heat. We appreciated the upgrade on our third night to a larger room with an outside terrace. Both rooms, however, were clean, well equipped and had very good air conditioning. The pool was out of service on the first two days we were there, but we did not see this as an issues. The hotel offers free shuttle buses to the centre of Marrakech every day so there was a free alternative when the pool was out of order. It was clear that they were trying to get it fixed as soon as possible and, obviously, these things happen so in no way are we complaining about this. As well, the hotel is not too far from the centre, far enough away to be peaceful but close enough to not be too pricey in terms of taxis. The service from every member of staff was exceptional and we were well looked after from arriving to departing. The hotel offers different excursions and we went up to the Atlas mountains one day. Our guide, who works at the hotel, was very informative and made stops which we would never have thought of - it is definitely worth paying the extra money for. Overall, we had a really lovely and relaxing time away. Nothing was too much trouble and this made the experience all the more enjoyable.
