We were so impressed with Dar Roumana, the food surpassed all expectations - the roasted tomato soup, the delicious sole, the perfect creme brulee, the beauty of the decor, the marvellous luxurious rooms, the plaster which looks for all the world like fine lace, the wooden carvings, the zellij, the astonishing attention to detail, make this a world class Dar...

I had the privilege of staying at Dar Roumana in the beginning of February after a week in rural Morocco and decided to treat myself to a bit more refined lodging. I was more than pleasantly surprised when I walked through the front door. This is an absolute gem in the Fes medina and a haven away from the hustle...

We stayed in the Dar Roumana for 5 nights from 6th January 2013, in the Yasmina suite. I have to say I have never slept in such a beautiful room. The four poster with white hangings is very comfortable, and as you sit up in bed you see the pretty doors that lead out to the private balcony overlooking the...

This Dar is a MUST STAY! A friend of mine recommended this place and it was PERFECT! We stayed in the Yasmina room, the biggest room in the Dar, and it's absolutely breathtaking. We had a HUGE room with our private balcony! Vanessa the manager, her husband Vincent the chef, Mohammed, and the rest of the staff were incredibly helpful...

Dar Roumana is the perfect escape from the fascinating, dusty warren of the Fes Medina. The Dar is a stunningly restored architectural gem, and upon arrival, Vanessa offers the perfect introduction to the city. Rooms are extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated, as are the many public spaces. The view from the rooftop terrace is not to be missed, nor is...

Dar Roumana was the best surprise during our trip to Morocco. Vincent, the chef, is so talented. Everything that he cooks is truly outstanding. The tiger sole that he prepared was really the best I have ever eaten in my life. The goat cheese souffle and the apple tarts were out of this world. The accommodations are really nice and...

We stayed there for two nights. After the first dinner, with goat cheese souffles and freshly baked apple tarts a la mode, we cancelled our next night's reservation to have dinner there again. It was delicious. The chef is fantastic and his wife, who runs the hotel, is extremely nice and accommodating. A haven from the dusty streets of Fez,...

I reviewed Trip Advisor and other travel guides with regards to choosing a riad in Fes. The selection of Dar Roumana did not disappoint our family and friends. It was an excellent selection. The alleys leading to Dar Roumana can be misleading and you might say "oh oh", but once you enter through that door it was like magic. A...

My husband and I stayed at Dar Roumana for a couple of days end of December. We found the place delightful and the managing couple charming and very helpful. Vanessa organised our transfers to and from the hotel, including to a very nice family restaurant on our second evening. Her oral advice as well as what we found in our...

General/management: We were delighted with Dar Roumana. The riad, whilst a little hard to find, was a beautiful sanctuary. The manager, Vanessa, and her team worked hard, but with a sense of humour and without pretentiousness in a genuine effort to make us feel welcome and help us with good recommendations and directions. The atmosphere was luxury, intimate and boutiquey....

All rooms (4 suites and 1 double room) are decorated with traditional arts and crafts, intricate carved plaster, high cedar ceilings, mosaic tile floors, and hand-crafted furniture.
