I had requested a Medina view for my room and would have had one if they landscapers had been more diligent. In stead I had a very private room with a patio surrounded by overgrown shrubbery. The room and breakfast was very nice. I was here for two night and this allowed my to walk around the gardens and pool...

This is a super hotel with wonderful authentic art and décor. The room was gorgeous with a great balcony view of the city. Staff very nice and helpful and the food excellent. We loved the outdoor dining area of the international restaurant and their staff were outstanding. So much fun and interaction - they really wanted us to have the...

The hotel is in a great location overlooking the medina. My room was fine with a small balcony. However, the concierge and reception staff were not helpful and seemed to feel any request was a burden. Restaurant, doormen and housekeeping staff were helpful Gardens and pool area were lovely. Gift shop had items I did not see anywhere else in...

Liked our room and bathroom. The grounds were lovely. The staff was inconsistent. Some gave great service and others were checked out. Heard a rumor that Sofitel is giving up their lease on the property this December so perhaps that explains it. It feels a little past its prime but with some attention could be fantastic. Hope that the rumors...

An excellent hotel well placed for exploring the nearby Medina. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. We had a lovely room decorated in a traditional way with a small balcony looking over the pool and with commanding views over the Medina and the rest of the town, a nice gesture was the fresh flowers and bottles of complimentary...

Sorry to see the negative reviews, - - we had a wonderful time. The hotel was formerly the Palace of the Jamai family constructed in 1879 in Moorish style, converted into a hotel in 1930;s and surrounded by an Andelusian garden of citrus and palm trees. It's an oasis of calm amidst the hurly-burly of the ancient medina outside. Nice...

From the outside of the hotel, the place looks beautiful. It has an authentic moorish look. The rooms are in need of repair. The staff is difficult to deal with. Many phone calls were needed to get what we were promised. The concierge was surly. The pool was not well staffed. It is situated very close to the medina. It...

It's true that the guest rooms are a bit tired and need to be refreshed, but they're still nice. What's more, if you can get a room with a medina view, you'll have one of the most beautiful views in Morocco from your balcony. Be sure to try the on-site Moroccan restaurant. I generally avoid hotel restaurants, but was impressed...

A very pretty hotel on the surface. The carvings and scrollwork and tiles are gorgeous and it is situated right next to the old medina. Our balcony overlooked the city and it was a breathtaking sight. However, there were tile pieces missing in the bathroom and it was clear it needed to be refurbished. Plus it’s a smoking hotel which...

We enjoyed our stay. The hotel is beautiful and in a lovely setting overlooking the old Medina. It has a well designed pool and garden area with lots of places to sit and relax. We had an excellent evening meal in the restaurant which was quite expensive. In return for being on the edge of the old Medina it is...

“If you pay for the view demand a high floor. Not sure the view is worth it in any event but it is a near total waste of money on the low floors. Plus the sun come in the room strongly in the AM.”
