Detailed Reviews
I did not stay with them but took their shuttle from Leon to La Ceiba. I was very hesitant about this trip because i could not find much information online confirming this was a good company. We met a lot of travellers who had taken normal busses and had everything robbed. Anyway after much thought we decided to go with Tornabe and emailed Omar who responded straight away confirming they had availability. We paid online through their website and the driver picked us up on time. The service was very professional with 2 drivers who stopped every couple of hours for toilet breaks, food, fuel and to change drivers. They also had free wifi to use and spoke english. Remember to bring some small us notes for the border as they had no change. I glad we decided to use them in the end as they were great.

As we didn't have a set schedule I kept emailing about potential travel dates and they were always fast and informative in their replies. Pick up was on schedule, actually early as we went to the hotel lobby 15 minutes before given time and driver was already there. Helped us with border crossing although as the driver didn't speak much english and my spanish isn't great I left confused what happened entering Nica. Left my umbrella in the van and they have offered to deliver to SJDS :) Only issue was 2 others we travelled with questioned the complimentary breakfast while we waited in the van aside a restaurant only to be led inside to eat. Not sure if we hadn't asked we would have been offered but it all worked out.

After returning from Roatan we had arranged with the hostel to get their shuttle service to Leon in Guatemala. The family picked us up from the dock and took us to the hostel which was their home located on the outskirts of the city. They were lovely people, stopping at the large supermarket for us and letting us use their kitchen to cook. The room was clean comfy and had air conditioning which was great after being in the humidity of Roatan.
I would highly recommend the shuttle service they offer to Leon if you wish to avoid San Pedro Sula and Tecucigalpa. We travelled in a van which had wifi and air conditioning. Omar the driver was also hugely helpful with crossing the border and spoke to us throughout the journey in English and Spanish keeping us informed. I would highly recommend this hostel for moving between La Ceiba and other locations.

Having researched how to get to La Ceiba to Leon, this seemed like the easiest option, however we should have known it was too good to be true.
Included in the cost of our ticket (usd$80) was wifi, air con and movies, however the wifi only worked for 30mins and no longer on the rest of the trip. This isn't a big deal but if you can't provide a service properly, why bother offering it at all. There were 2 vans the day we travelled, our van did not have a working movie player so therefore we could not watch movies on this long journey. The air con was questionable and we ended up travelling with the widows open.
At the Nicaraguan border, the driver of the van insisted on taking our passports and money for tourist cards and wouldn't let the customs officer process us individually as we had done at every other border crossing. This took nearly 2 hours!!!If this was done properly I would not have had a problem however it was not. Firstly the driver tried to get us to pay 50C extra than what the tourist card is worth, obviously making a profit for himself. Secondly and what is worrying myself and my companion greatly is that after all this, we were not given stamps in our passports - only on the tourist card.
After our questioning over this, the drivers did nothing to get us a stamp and insisted it was normal.
I find this very hard to believe, especially having asked other multiple travellers in Nicaragua whom all have stamps in there passports as well as on the tourist card.
They did get us to our destination safely, one of the only positive things to say.

I used this company to take a shuttle from La Ceiba to Leon and would highly recommend it for a hassle free journey. You can take the morning ferry from Utila and they’ll wait for you at the dock in La Ceiba. The person that met us explained everything that would happen in the day as there were a few change of drivers because of the distance covered. The van was the best one I’ve had so far as it included a small screen for us to watch movies. Our first driver was great and our second Eduardo was brilliant and helped us a lot at the border, again explaining everything that was happening as the process is quite long (1.5hours).
Overall, good experience.

Did not stay at Tornabe but used the La Ceiba to Leon shuttle which saved me a from a lot of unnecessary connections. It's not cheap at USD80 but we'll worth the cost.
Omar picked me from my hotel in La Ceiba and took me to the van. It was full but comfortable. It is a long long journey so be prepared for it. It can get very exhausting esp towards the end. However, the back to back movies helped to distract. Stops were timely.
Our driver was amazing. One guy could not enter Nicaragua as he had less than 6 months validity in his passport. It was late into the night but Alberto tried his best to solve the problem running back and forth from the Customs office. When it was clear that entry would not be permitted, he drove the guy back to the Honduran border and even tried knocking at locked doors to find him accommodation. Finally, the guy had to wait at the customs office while Alberto drove the rest of us right to the doorstep of our respective hostels before returning to collect the guy and take him to the Honduran capital.
I can imagine how exhausting it was for Alberto but he was always patient and respectful. For such great service, the cost is more than reasonable.

I didn't stay at this hostel but I was in contact with them via what's app to help a friend book the shuttle to Leon (she was stuck in Utila due to storms)... they always replied to my messages straight away and didn't mind my silly questions. I would highly recommend these guys and will definitely stay with them in the future after this pleasant experience.

I have been meaning to write this review for months now..we used Tornabe twice in October and November 2017. Once from La Ceiba to Leon and then from San Juan del Sur to Monteverde.
This is such a perfect service! Omar and his wife are so helpful and it was really great to meet them and get to know them. Omar remembered us from our first shuttle which was so nice. All of their drivers are friendly and safe drivers. Tornabe were definitely our best shuttle service during our 5 months in Central America.
The shuttle is comfortable and has a tv to watch films during the long journeys. They also had plenty of stops at places to buy food and use the bathroom (somehow they always found the cleanest toilets - better than anything we had seen in Central!)
Definitely travel with these guys - they are awesome and make border crossings a breeze!!

We took the 2 day tour from la ceiba to Leon and it was great! Omar took really good care of us and we didn't have to think about anything. He showed us some beautiful places in Honduras and made the little trip really special! From la ceiba we went to the pulhapanzak waterfalls where we did a tour to go in and behind the waterfalls. We stayed at the D&D brewery, which is a lovely place. The next day we drove to la Tigra national park and did a hike of 4 hours. This was a nice break from sitting in a car all day. I can recommend this to everyone! Thanks again!

This was an excellent stop for us between roatan and Leon. Omar was waiting for us one the dock when we arrived on the ferry in la ceiba. He took us to his home which is in a secure neighborhood and provided us with a Clean(with ac), comfortable room. He also drove us to the grocery store, and invited us to a family bbq which we declined because we were tired from our journey but appreciated nonetheless. The next morning we departed early for Leon, we had free wifi and breakfast was included in the price (65$). In tegucigalpa the drivers switched and we lost wifi access but our new driver was very helpful with crossing the boarder and currency exchange. We arrived safely in Leon at our hostel doorstep a mere 11 and a half hours later. A very good experience overall. Would recommend to everyone. Thanks Omar!
