My wife Kathy & I spent a wonderful three days at Hacienda San Lucas. If you have a spirit of adventure but also want a clean, comfortable room and truly wonderful dining, then you need to seriously consider a visit here. We took the Hedman-Alas bus from the airport to Copan, and Flavia (owner) was there to meet us. The...

My review is well overdue but better late than never. This was our third visit to Hacienda San Lucas. It is an awesome place to visit. I want to also mention that I strongly disagree with the individual that recently reported a terrible visit to HSL. When you visit Hacienda San Lucas you step into a magical, spiritual, and most...

I was warmly welcomed at the bus station ,and conveyed by van to this most beautiful hotel with lovely rooms, beautiful grounds and delicious food. The staff set up my tour, arranged for transportation and made me feel most comfortable. The other guests were interesting and friendly which I greatly appreciated as a solo traveler. At night the candle- lit...

I just spent two nights at Hacienda san Luicas and, although I was expecting top-level accomodations I was surprised att he quality of the rooms and especially the food. The rooms are large, well-appointed and the beds have excellent sheets, pillows, etc. The Hacienda is located on a hill overlooking the valley and ruins - lots of trees and birds....

Hacienda San Lucas is not for everyone. Bats are the guests most likely to enjoy the place because they can see in the dark and like to eat bugs. It certainly wasn’t for me or the friend with whom I was traveling. The owners seem to believe that discomfort is a virtue. Our room was as plush as a nun's...

Unfortunate and misguided booking by tour operator…. As owner of Hacienda San Lucas, I feel compelled to address the very sad review of a very misguided visitor. After 10 years and 83 posts/reviews with the highest ratings and very happy travelers, it is obvious that this visitor was not properly informed by his tour operator and lacked the correct information...

My wife and I have traveled a good bit over the years, both in Europe and in Mexico. We have never written a review of any hotel, restaurant, airline, etc., but we have made an exception in the case because we want prospective visitors to know that every moment of our six-day stay at Hacienda San Lucas was wonderful. We...

Hacienda San Lucas is a beautiful mountaintop property overlooking the Copan valley with Rio Copan winding through it. This charming place is great for romance, relaxation, nature-lovers and those just looking to recharge their batteries. Lots of great hiking trails, beautiful vistas to be seen, lots of birds, nice guesthouses, authentic hacienda feel to everything. All food is made from...

It is rare that I disagree so completely with recent TA reports, but I do with this one. The original hacienda building is indeed charming and atmospheric, but the bedroom was awful. Dreary looking block from the outside and so dark inside that if we wanted to find something in our suitcase we had to take it outside (a hanging...

it was our second time to this fabulous place. Once you hit the dirt road that leads you to Hacienda san Lucas, you know that something magical awaits with an incredible surrounding. Up the mountain you go besides a mighty river, then you suddenly look at your window and the archeologica site of Copan lies in front of a majestic...

I have used trip advisor extensively over the last couple of years, but never bothered to write a review. I am writing my first one because Hacienda San Lucas is one of the finest places my wife and I have ever stayed. We received probably the best and most friendly service we have ever encountered. The grounds are beautiful and...

“The two original rooms, Corral and Coccina, are located closest to the main house and dinning room. This is good for someone who has trouble with stairs. Full strength wifi. The other six rooms are nestled up into the mountainside and provide additional privacy. Medium to no strength wifi based on the proximity to the main building that has the router.”
