I went diving with my 2 kids and my wife stayed at the resort.
I would say it was one of the best holidays I have ever had.

We just got back from a dive vacation at Turquoise Bay in Roatan and it was fantastic. This is a smaller boutique dive resort tucked into the hills and has a beautiful sandy beach. I emphasize that this is a dive resort not a luxury...More

This is the perfect resort for the diver enthusiast! It's not the typical property we're used to staying at and it needs cosmetic touches, but the excellent staff, food, and private beach made it fantastic.

Yes, there is an electronic safe in the bedroom. They also have a guard station at the entrance to the resort. The location of the resort seems VERY safe. It is the main land in Honduras that is not safe...the locals will tell you that. We traveled to the west end to do a little site seeing and shopping. It was very pleasant. The locals are very friendly. The island seems fine. I do recommend bringing bug spray as well. I did get bit up quite a bit...the itching took about a week to go away.

I think they were about six dollars for a mixed drink like gin and tonic or rum and coke. If you and your spouse are going to have three each a day I would recommend the beverage package, but buy it before you arrive, from your travel agent if possible. I did not and asked when I arrived and the price kept going up until it was not worth it.
