I recently stayed in this hostel and the hostel itself was ok besides its location. I found the nearby streets quite scary at night to walk alone. As I was leaving at 6am in the morning after checking out of the hostel, I was robbed at gun point not even a block away from the hostel. It seemed to me...

I stayed here 2 nights: the first was terrible. Noise from the family with small children that stayed the night, the hot water from the electric shower head quit right after I got lathered up (about 2 minutes before the ice water hit) light shining in if one of the neighboring guests turned a light on. The second night was...

Our first impressions of Luna de Plata were good. Things seemed fairly tranquil until a large family with screaming children arrived in the room next door at about 11:00 pm. Because of the way the closet is constructed the wall is paper-thin. Consequently, we could hear every whining word the children spoke as well as the loud conversations of the...

Okay, so let me share my experience with this hostel. I stayed there for more than three months, so I guess I've seen it all. The majority of the rooms are (really) big, which was the reason I first chose this hostel. Just for you to picture it, the private room that I had had two double beds, two bedside...

My boyfriend and I stayed here for a week in March 2012 and we had a great time. Luna de Plata (Silver Moon) is in a perfect location, really close to the park, but off the main streets so it's very peaceful and quiet. Rebeca and everyone who works there were extremely friendly and helped us with anything we needed....

We spent 3 nights in this calm and nice hostel in Quetzaltenango. It's not more than a 5 minutes walk to the main Plaza. Beds are new and very confortable, rooms big, the kitchen well equiped and clean. But what we likes most was the friendly staff: Rebekka and Rosie make you feel at home and they provide also all...

“Ask for the single room with the private bathroom, it's the biggest single room and they won't charge extra (surprisingly, the simple rooms with shared bathroom and the ones with private bathroom cost the same). Ask if the large room with six beds and a private bathroom is available. It's the most beautiful (and finished) room in the hostel, and again it costs the same. Although it seems that this room is aimed to be shared, I saw a lot of couples and even single people staying there alone. Also, do not hesitate to ask for a special price if you plan on staying for more than one night.”
