We cannot recommend THE ROUNDHOUSE on Rio Dulce enough. Such friendly staff, great dinners, and an AMAZING location. really affordable on a backpackers budget too. All solar powered, it has a great range of hammocks, sun loungers and couches to rest on after active days exploring the outstanding surroundings. Jaime, the onsite manager is such a happy and helpful guy...

The hostel is at beautiful location just 10 minutes from livingston by boat. Boats are available a couple of times a day. The staff is really nice and helpful. The dinner with all guests and staff is a very nice experience and the food is good.

Round house was the perfect place to stay in Rio Dulce, with a beautiful dock to swim off, friendly staff, and delicious family style dinners, our three days were some of the most memorable in Guatemala.

While we didn't stay here since we were already booked at Finca Tatin, we had some friends who did and they said it was amazing. We did visit for awhile and found the place to be just as relaxing and welcoming as Finca Tatin, it doesn't have as many private accommodations, seemed more dorm style with communal rooms and rooms...

Roundhouse is located on the river, beautiful and scenic and relaxed. It has a fun area for junping into the river and hammocks for relaxing. There is no internet which makes it a really good place to get away for a few days. A highlight is the family style dinners-delicious meals and gives you an opportunity to get to know...

We stayed at the round house hostel for three nights and found our little piece of heaven there. It is located between rio dulce and Livingston and only reachable by boot. This place is calm and beautiful, has great food, hammocks on the water, docks to jump into the water from, and kayaks to explore the area. What more could...

The Round House Hostel is the best hostel I have stayed at in Guatemala. The location on the river is beautiful and the hostel has great hammocks and loungers to soak in the views. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Roundhouse is a social place with family-style dinners. We're located right on the beautiful Rio Dulce in the rain forest. The canyon, caves and hot springs are all nearby. Swim, hike, kayak, sunbathe or just take a hammock and watch the river life. We've got a great book exchange and enough hammocks to read. Or if you're up for a drink: there is also a well-stocked (Tequila!) bar. ... more   less
