We recently went to stay at this hotel over the weekend. It was much nicer than expected. Great clean rooms, super large size, nice beds, hot water, tv, safe parking, friendly staff, etc. The towels provided are quite old, but not that bad. Bring your own shampoo and conditioner. The grounds of the hotel are a wonderland, better than the... More

After deciding to spend two days here, we ended up staying a week. Santiago de Atitlan is a very interesting city, but crowded and intense. But the Tiosh Abaj is a world unto itself. The grounds were amazing, the rooms were very comfortable and nice, and we had breakfast and often dinner there. Friendly people, great food, a pool, and... More

We stayed here for 5 nights and only saw a few other guests on Sat night. That's fine, nice to have a whole hotel to yourself. The staff were all very friendly (even the gardeners). The pool was cleaned every day, everywhere is kept very tidy, the gardens are extensive and lovely, and there are excellent views from the private... More

We stayed in Tiosh Abaj over the new year. It is a lovely hotel, and the rooms on the top floor are huge, nicely decorated with a gorgeous view. The ladies at reception were very kind and helpful. There is a nice pool and a temescal. However, the hotel needs to work on the details. For example, our room had... More

we stumbled into Tiosh Abaj when we arrived in Santiago. It is a luxury resort, quite unlike the places we generally stay, but it was low season and the price and location were right. The large room was immaculate and filled with Mayan textiles. The well kept grounds included a swimming pool, gardens and free access to a Temascal, the... More

We are staying here at this moment Feb 20,2015 and have already been here for two nights. We are extending our stay another two nights. The cook Susan worked for an American/Russian couple and makes European food that is the equal of most New York restaurants and the lettuce and lemons are grown on the property and the salads are... Spacious rooms, with large bathrooms (although rather dated). Beds quite firm . Easy to walk to ferries (10 mins) and into town centre, though that is uphill. Staff very pleasant and helpful, many speak English. Gardens are nicely kept although the hotel has a slightly run-down feel - the sunloungers by the pool are mostly broken, the ornamental fountains are... More

This hotel is right on the lake with large, beautiful grounds to wander around in. The rooms are large, spacious and very clean. Our room was on the third floor and had a king size bed, a double bed and a single. As it was just my son and I, he used the single and I was in the double.... More
