Honestly, the hotel grounds are great, the lake is right there. However the rock hard beds and mosquitos made it impossible to sleep or even relax in the rooms. Would recommend update your beds and room cleaning standards to ensure customers keep returning. We did give this feedback at the front desk and received no responses from them. We wont... More

The hotel sits on a beautiful lot with a great view and lake access. However, everything else is terrible; I stayed there 3 days and they never raked the leaves anywhere on the property, restaurant chairs were absolutely filthy, poolside was also terrible there were empty beer bottles and cups all over which perfectly matched the pool as it was... I loved it here. My husband and I stayed for 3 wonderful nights. The hotel is on the lake and surrounded by beautiful gardens. The architecture is very unique and the staff was amazing. We are considering a longer stay next year.

Beautiful property right on the lake, just a few minuets from Panajachel. The driveway going to the hotel was full of birds in the morning. The owner was very nice to let us bird on the property even though we were not guests. If I could afford it the price, this is where I would stay in Panajachel.

Rather than hotel rooms San Buenaventura rents small to medium 1 or 2 bedroom apartments equiped with kitchens. Kitchens have a gas stove and refrigerator but no oven. Location is convenient to Panajachel being only a 20 minute walk or short tuk tuk ride but much more quiet and peaceful than being right in town. The hotel has a lovely... More

PROS: * Nice and Quiet area - short hiking trails * Close enough yet away from all the hustle and bustle of Panajachel. Even though it is jus about a mile away from Calle Santander (main street), I wouldn't recommend to walk to town as there are no sidewalks on a dangerous part of the road. *breakfast included * Friendly... I stayed in this place with my girlfriend and two other friends in the end of December 2013. I loved the natural and peaceful surroundings with brilliant view of the lake. The only disadvantage is that it's location is a few minutes away from the town so we had to take a tuk tuk to get there and back. There... More

We stayed a whole month in this hotel in February 2014. There was plenty of space, the vaulted ceilings are incredible, it is quiet, a little bit out of town (a nice 15-20 minute walk into town or a quick ride with a very cheap taxi), the trees and birds are awesome, and it felt very safe. We walked around... More

We were staying here in January 2014; the location is superb, but you do need to have a car to take full advantage of it (which we did). Also insect repellent is definitely a good idea as there's lots of mosquitoes. Aside from those two points (and the very hefty price) we enjoyed our stay very much, as previously mentioned... More
