Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The woman who runs the hostal sold me a shuttle ticket to Santa Ana in El Salvador, it was supposed to have a quick stop in El Tunco where I would change to a new shuttle to my final destination, however the driver told me that the company does not have any shuttle service to Santa Ana. In the way I called the woman from the hostal who sold me the ticket to complain and she didn't do anything about it. She sold me a shuttle ticket that the tour company does not provide the service. I was dropped in a random city and had to pay extra money to be able to go where I needed. The bedroom is very dark and the bed is the worst I have ever had in a hostal.

We had a great stay for one night and it was the cheapest place we found from a quick online search (we paid approx £5 each for 2 dorm beds). Extremely friendly owner who made us feel welcome and gave us lots of info and helped us make late bookings. There's a kitchen, good wifi and computers. We never had a problem with the number of bathrooms (and the hostel was reasonably busy), and everything seemed clean. To note - mattresses were very thin on the beds which I found fine but my boyfriend prefers a thicker mattress.

The place seemed fine at first. It is "cheap" in comparison to many more places in Antigua but still grossly overpriced especially for what you have to put up with. I see the 4 other reviews of this place and I just don't understand where they are coming from. It is anything but chilled and quiet. We were shown the "private room" and the shared bathroom and the terrace. There are only 2 bathrooms (1 in the dorm room) for everyone and the showers are in them as well. They conveniently left out the part that the terrace is actually a bar with different owners and we can not use it as our own. It is open to the public, so you can go up there, but... We tried to carry our own drinks up there to watch the sunset and were turned away because we have to buy a drink. So it isn't actually a terrace for the hostel. They also left out the fact that the shared bathroom is shared with all the people off the street that are at the bar. So it is rarely ever available and by 8pm it is just like a public bar bathroom. Disgusting. The "private rooms" have walls that do not go all the way to the ceiling and are located in the hall where everyone going and leaving the bar passes by. They share a light so if one room turns on the light, the other room is lit up as well. It is obnoxiously loud the entire time. We paid $20 to sleep at a bar. Worst place we have ever paid to stay. Just ending 5 months traveling through Central America and this place just plain sucks.

Very nice place to stay in Antigua Guatemala, right in the city center and for a fare price. Close to all the restaurants and main things. The beds are very confortable, the place has an incredible terrace with amazing view to the city and the lava of the Fire Volcano during night and the owner is very friendly and helpful :)

I stayed here for a few days and would recommend this hostel to anyone who wants a quiet and chilled experience. The owners are kind and cheerful and also really helpful. They have a small garden on the ground floor and an awesome rooftop, perfect for waking up slow in the mornings. The price is decent and it's not that far from the center, as Antigua is small. gracias por mi estancia
