Even if the hotel interior is extremely pretty and peaceful, and the staff is friendly and polite, the hotel lacks some feature that one would expect in a 4 stars. It is located at the edge of Zone 10, and streets to reach the nearest shops and restaurants are poorly lighted, making it unsafe to go out after 6pm. Single...

The Good: - Very friendly and helpful staff - Very peaceful and pretty hotel interior - firm and comfortable bed - clean room and bathroom The Not-so-Good: - The location is right on the edge of Zone 10 (a secure area) with poorly lighted streets; it is not safe to be outside at night in this area. - The walls...

Very nice staff, excellent food and free breakfast, nice large and super clean rooms. The property is conveniently located close to the US Embassy and the best shopping centers in Guatemala City, they have the best location. It feels like home. We use this nice hotel as our place to stay every time we go to Guatemala city.

We visit Guatemala about 1-2 times per year and consider this our "home-away-from-home". Our recent visit was no exception: beautiful landscaping, comfy rooms and beds, super-friendly staff, attentive and helpful service, great breakfasts. This safe and tranquil place is truly an oasis in the midst of the big city. Only drawback is that walking from here to other areas is...

You will not regret staying at Hotel Ciudad Vieja instead of any of the big impersonal hotel chains. You will feel at home, surrounded by gardens and a very quiet atmosphere because there are no busy streets near the hotel. The staff is extremely gentle, rooms are well furnished and large enough. Internet is free and works well. The common...

A perfect cozy, quiet and well located hotel. The rooms are very clean and comfortable; Spanish decor flowing beautifully throughout the entire place. Excellent hotel for either business or vacation; close to everything. Beautiful and well kept garden lays very pleasantly in front of all rooms. At the restaurant, while you will enjoy deliciously prepared meals, you will also enjoy...

Cuidad Vieja is a lovely hotel. The courtyard surrounds a gorgeous garden, the staff are courteous and helpful. The rooms are big with nice bathrooms. And the food in the hotel restaurant is excellent. What more could one ask for?

We stayed for 3 nights in April 2014. This is a very nice, quiet hotel with lovely gardens. The food was good and the service was also good. However, we did seem to be the only ones staying there at the time. There is no A/C and that was not a huge problem for us because it was not too...

1) I was given a single bath towel for my room--very thin towel. I asked for more and they said they did not have any more towels. I said i would pay extra for the towels and they sent one more towel to my room. 2) I asked for more bottled water--they said they had run out after giving me...

I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel in February 2014 whilst on business. I loved the gardens surrounding this colonial style house. The tiles on the floor and the decoration overall was tasteful and nothing seemed out of place. My favourite place was sipping a coffee in the courtyard looking at the orchids hanging from the ceiling and the...
