The Chan Chich Lodge sits amidst Mayan mounds and features a beautiful garden setting. We are birders and the species just in the lodge area was impressive--including trogons. The staff is friendly. they welcomed us warmly and waved us off with smiles as we departed. The deluxe room had all the usual amenities and more. Loved hearing the howler monkeys...

Spent 3 nights in Chan Chich; my second visit, with the first about 15 years ago. A very special place. The deluxe room was very comfortable and well-appointed. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The setting is simply extraordinary (although the wildlife was seemed less abundant than during my earlier visit). The food was adequate without being extraordinary ---...

We spent 9 nights at Chan Chich Lodge over Christmas and New Years this year (2012/2013). It was one of our best holidays ever. The staff is helpful and friendly. The food has enough variation for the the length of stay and was all wonderfully prepared, try the soups, they are the best. Our guides were extremely knowledgable, helping us...

We spent 4 nights after Christmas in Chan Chich and had an amazing time. For people coming from the east coast (all wired up et al.. iphone/blackberry) etc., this offered and in a sense forced us to tune off the outside world and get in sync with the beautiful natural surroundings. Set in the middle of a jungle, in the...

My family of 4 enjoyed 5 nights at Chan Chich over Christmas. The lodge has to be one of the most unique and beautiful settings anywhere. The staff was friendly and eager to make our stay enjoyable, include a surprise al fresco dinner under the moonlight our last evening there. We were also uograded to the villa which was luxurious...

One week in September. Lodge: Wonderful staff. Deluxe cabanas are wonderful. Nice pool. Not crowded. Excellent setting. Compared to the many similarly priced lodges we have been elsewhere in the world, this was among the very best. Surroundings: Good, well-kept trail network that is freely accessible without a guide; many of the trails are old roads, but this can actually...

the pros of chan chich include great food, extremely comfortable cabanas, and an incredible amount of biodiversity including oscillated turkeys, howler monkeys and parrots. The only cons that I can complain of is nothing seems to be complimentary- even non alcoholic drinks will be put on your tab and if you go on a guided walk-don't drink the refreshments offered...

Perfect weather for such an auspicious occasion. Accommodations and especially staff are all special and nicer than any other place we've traveled in the whole world! This is a once a year destination for us and has been for 10 years. There aren't words to describe the site. Being there is the only way to fully appreciate Chan Chich's wonder.

My husband and I spent 3 days there over Thanksgiving. The birds were fantastic and the guides were so helpful in making sure we saw everything. The accommodations were very comfortable and the food was great! The staff there were very friendly and clearly enjoyed being at Chan Chich. I would highly recommend it for birders and for people who...

I visited Chan Chich while researching the Orange Walk District for my upcoming novel, Catherine's Cross. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the walking trails, some of which have the ruins of ancient Maya structures along their paths. I was greatly impressed by the respect and admiration that the staff showed for this unique property that they oversee. Chef...
