This lodge is in a very beautiful setting in the plaza of unexcavated Mayan ruins surrounded by thousands of acres of protected forest. The grounds are immaculately maintained. They support many, many species of birds as well as Spider monkeys and occasional Howler monkeys. The cabanas are very clean, private and open to the sights and sounds of the forest...

We spent 2 nights at Chan Chich at the start of our honeymoon in Belize. We were kindly upgraded to a better cabana and overall arrangements were very smoothly handled. Guides were professional and knowledgeable and staff were friendly and personable. Food is tasty, if a little expensive, but all dietary requirements are well accommodated and portions are large. Saw...

We stayed three nights and fell in love with Chan Chich and Gallon Jug. The guides are the greatest asset that enabled us to fully enjoy the splendid variety of wildlife. We also appreciated touring Gallon Jug farm. To be able to go from jungle like foliage to open ranch land with spectacular vistas is the best of both worlds....

Dear Amy We’re thrilled to hear how the guides impacted your stay with us – we couldn’t agree more about the importance of interpretive guiding to enhance the forest experience! The combination of lush forest with farm and grasslands are part of what make Chan Chich and Gallon Jug so special. Hearing you call it a gem means a lot...

I have been going for several years to Chan Chich for the annual Christmas Bird Count. The birds are always a highlight, but away from that... the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. They make you feel at home within the first five minutes. I absolutely love the fact that deer, turkeys, coatis and agoutis play in between the cabanas...

We stayed there only two days, but wished we could have stayed longer. This place is simply wonderful, and great for seeing the wildlife. In only two days, we saw a jaguar, a puma, an agouti, many white-tailed deers, spider monkeys, coyotes, foxes, many birds... About the lodge itself: it is clean and comfortable, the people are extremely nice and...

It was a privilege to be staying within a Mayan city, we loved all the unexcavated grassy mounds with the cabanas and main building set amongst them. Also the birds, the spider monkeys and the soundtrack of howler monkeys. Cabana very comfortable with a huge shower room, didn't miss a/c as it was cool overnight, but the cabanas are very...

Hola Thank you for your warm review. We are proud of our decision to build a lodge in the middle of the plaza of Mayan ruins to conserve the precious site, and the abundance of wildlife in this rainforest setting is part of that legacy.
