Stayed here for two nights with my wife and it surpassed expectations. Rooms were great, food was great. Marcus provided excellent guiding services for the birding aspect of our trip. We did not go out with the other guide, Melvis, but he was also helpful and fun. Many mammal species traipsed through the lodge grounds by day, and it has...

Stayed here for 4 nights in Nov. 2016. Amazing birds and wildlife that we didn't see anywhere else in Belize. The fox family that lives onsite is pretty tame, easily approachable and easy to take pictures of. After a hard morning hiking in the jungle we would come and rest on the porch of the cabana or the dining area...

First I should declare an oblique interest I as much as I work for World Land Trust which was one of the original founders that helped purchase what is now the largest non government reserve in Belize. But it is certainly a great place to experience the rainforest in comparative luxury wildlife abounds and is often tame and approachable. The...

Great cabanas, private, clean, lovely design and decoration. Fans helped but it wasn't too hot out. Great to supply bug netting... This also added to the ambiance! Meals were amazing; lots of local ingredients. Our guide Melvis was top notch. He knew all bird calls, could imitate them all, knew the best locations to find them. Many birds were added...

We visited La Milpa Nov 2015 and had a wonderful time viewing birds and wildlife with Roberto and Francisco. The accommodations were comfortable and the food was delicious and plentiful. Francisco was an excellent birder and wildlife guide and we were able to see a very good diversity of wildlife. As an example we went to the rice fields one...

We stayed at la milpa for three nights and enjoyed them very much. The place is beautiful, completely hidden in the pristine rain first. Melvis and Francesco really made or visit with the money. They are so good in bird finding purely based on sound. Melvis can imitate any bird, luring them closer to us do we can take pictures....

We drove to La Milpa from Mahahual Mexico, where we live. The roads there were being regraded so the drive was a little more difficult than we thought it would be - all the main roads in Mexico are paved but about half the journey in Belize was dirt roads. We just took it easy! The station was easy to...

Great food for a good price. Awesome drink specials. The building is a bit dark and old but my wife and I enjoy going because of the service, management and dining experience are wonderful. We are weekly regulars.

Two days and two nights in jungle paradise--great facilities and helpful staff, seamlessly integrated with the huge, well-maintained and protected forest area surrounding it. Highlight was a long hike with Melvis, the extremely knowledgable and accommodating nature guide and activities coordinator. In addition to countless plants, trees, insects, birds and animals we spotted a magnificent male jaguar along the trail,...

La milpa has it all, great location, mystical old maya city which is still owned by the jungle, a lot of wildlife, we saw spider and howler monkeys, perfect birding spot and lovely cottages to spend the nights in. The only thing we were less happy about was the food, not so tastefull. La milpa is a must stay location...
