In writing a review, one cannot blame nature in the overall experience. However, since early February, the shoreline of Placencia is about 30 feet deep in washed up sea grass. It's impossible to enter the water from the beach in front of Ranguana. We accepted this to be the fault of climate and storm fronts that had washed it in... More

We stayed at Ranguana Lodge for 4 nights in January/2012. We paid $90/ dollars a night for the cabana in the garden. It was spacious, clean and had 2 beds so it could easily sleep a small family. It also had a kitchen with pretty much everything you needed. We didn't end up needing it but had we been staying... More

I spent a lot of time reading reviews before our trip to Belize. You always wonder whether you are going to make the right decision. However, with Ranguana, we most certainly did. I have to add that we cycled from Placencia village all the way to Maya Beach (which is 7 miles from the village) and this is by far... More

Just returned from a 6-night stay in the beachfront "Trigger Fish" cabin at Ranguana Lodge. Simple, but pleasant accommodations right on the beach. Nothing fancy about the rooms, but that's what we expected. The staff was friendly and helpful and the air conditioning in the room was great on those warm, humid evenings. The grounds are lovely, full of flowers,... More

I have lived and travelled around Belize for 6 years. My friends and I were going to Seine Bight for a weekend festival that featured various Belizean musical legends. Drove to Placencia because there were no suitable accomodations that we could find in SB. Looked at two places-one was full-the other smelled musty/moldy and the man that showed us the room... More

We had a very bad experience at Ranguana Lodge. This was extremely disappointing, because the reviews on here make this place sound wonderful—and it is not. We had booked a beachside Cabana for 10 nights. This turned out to be a big mistake. I wish I could go back in time and not reserve this room. When we first arrived,... More

My husband and I stayed here in May 2007. I know I should have written a review a long time ago but am just doing it now. We still talk about this place and our trip to placencia all the time. This is a great place right on the beach. It was our first experience staying in what I call... More

Ranguana was a perfect place to stay for Lobsterfest weekend (very fun!!). The festival is a few minute walk away (only disadvantage being the live music that you can hear at night). The beach was nice and pretty much right outside of your door. Plenty of good food within a 3-10 minute walk. The staff was friendly. The Garden cabana... More

I had a wonderful stay at Ranguana. Cabanas are right on the beach with AC, fridge, microwave and great showers. Off season adds additional value! Ranguana's location right by town makes for easy access to Placencia's laid back and fun nightlife.
