A group of 4 of us booked online, and stayed for 4 nites mid-April 2017. Great welcome by Stefano, who shared lots of local info & advice with us, as far as activities, dining, and general info about Placencia & surrounding area. Added a welcome level of comfort at the beginning of our stay. Waterfront on the canal, easy 15...

As everyone says, the place is very roomy for Placencia Village. It had a very pleasant atmosphere and nice views. It was very private as all neighbors are quite a distance. Tons of birds in the morning. Owner was good to arrange things with. Stefano was good to deal with once you are there. It is a very short walk...

Loads of space, very comfortable; just walk in, put your stuff down, open up all the doors and windows, let the breeze in, pour a drink and retire to the hammock on the verandah which overlooks the canal. The house is made entirely of wood as are all of the fittings and furniture. It's fully furnished with 2 bedrooms with...

My family and I had a great time in this one-of-a-kind spacious and comfortable house. Lots of class. Very close to the sea front -- just walk across the road. The house is right on the harbor side of Placencia with a nice dock. The children caught lots of small fish right from the back door. There is lots of...

We traveled as two couples so this house was more than enough space. It was really nice having privacy and separate bathrooms but sharing a large living room and kitchen area. We used the hammock and crows nest a lot to just sit outside and look out over the water. We were really lucky one night to catch meteor shower...

I have been to Belize many times. Stayed in many places. I can with out a doubt say this was one of the best spots we have stayed. It is close enough to the entertainment, but allows for peaceful quiet nights. Maya Lodge offered everything we needed- by far more than I ever expected. It was great to have our...

Maya Lodge was perfect for our group: two couples traveling together. We each had separate bathrooms and plenty of space. This house is HUGE! The location is perfect for walking anywhere in town (we walked to our dive shops at the pier every day) and the balcony is where we spent most of our time. Swinging on the hammock and...

The Maya Lodge is a beautiful facility. Views of the canal were wonderful (enjoyed seeing the boats docked nearby). It is well appointed (actually provide more than just one of everything per person to use - towels, dishes, flatware, etc.). We rented a car in Belize City to travel to Placencia but if you wanted, you could easily walk to...

We stayed with our family at the Maya Lodge for a few nights in November 2014. As soon as we got there I regretted not having booked a longer stay! Both the beautifully designed wooden lodge as well as the manager Stefano made us feel at home right away. The place is spacious, offers spectacular views from the crows nest...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Maya Lodge was built by an English ocean lover and displays much of the native wood and architecture of Belize. Both bedrooms are large and furnished with a double/queen bed. Each bedroom has a private full bath with hot shower. There is also a loft with 2 twin beds and several ceiling fans throughout the house. Food can be purchased locally and prepared in the full kitchen. Two hammocks are provided and can be set on the covered deck or on the upper crow's nest where the Maya Mountains and gorgeous sunsets are viewed. Swimmers can use the canal at the back of the house or walk to the beach in a few minutes. ... more   less
