Firstly the staff will be some of the friendliest you will ever meet. Each will go out of their way to make you feel at home. Amazing dinner buffets. One night the Howler monkeys serenaded us while sleeping and that was a really neat experience....More
Like others say, this place is amazing. Our 3 boys loved it. The buffet meals have a large variety, which worked well for our picky eater. He could go up to pasta station, and they'd make him plain pasta! We enjoyed eating with other families,...More

At Ian Anderson's Caves Brach, we were treated like we were the only guests there! From the pick up at the airport to the very end we experienced first class service. The most memorable point we all agreed on was that every staff member strived...More
Caves Branch, as it says on its website, is not for everyone, yet it still manages to have top rate accommodations, great food and the best adventures for the whole family. We loved the Cabana that we stayed in, it had a king size bed,...More

Hi, yes, there is one designated area for smokers at the lodge. It is located just outside the dining area about 15 short steps from the Guest Services desk in a little hide-a-way spot that even includes an ash tray and a relaxing bench. Just let your Guest Services staffer know when you check in and they will direct you to it.

Good morning staceywills,
Caves Branch is located approximately 90 minutes away from the international airport. The easiest way to get to the lodge is taking either a 15 minute flight into the city (municipal airport) which is around $55US pp or taking an hour boat ride from Caye Caulker to Belize City- cost is around $20US pp oneway.
WE can have a driver meet you in the city and Belize City to the lodge is $65US pp plus 12.5% tax. Some might consider that the cost of the shuttle is high, however if you get a taxi on your own, the cost is about the same but charged in Belize Dollars which would be around $130bz for one or two persons.
Getting a bus from Belize City is cheaper but takes you up to 3 hours sometimes to get all the way to the lodge and entails 2 different bus rides... If you have luggage, it is not as easy to travel on the bus given the bus change in Belmopan and getting off at our highway entrance and walking in with your bags. Hope this information is helpful!

HI there...for all day tours from Caves Branch, guests who are not staying at the lodge are required to arrive by 8:30am and not 9am. This is to sign your waivers, get prepared for the tour, meet your guide and get instructions prior to departure. All day tours that are on-property leave at 9am and return no earlier then 2pm. If you need to be at the airport for a 2:45pm flight, unfortunately you will not be able to do a tour with Caves Branch Lodge.
What I would recommend if you have that short of a time frame to work with- stopping in for either a Cheese Tasting Tour (Mon-Fri) or a Botanical Garden Guided Tour and then on to the city for your flight.
