Just got back from our third week long stay in as many years. Went earlier this year and had from sunny 80's to 60's with 50 mph gusts and rain, quite the contrast. Bring lightweight dollar store tarps to stay dry when thatched roof leaks. Always come prepared for sand fleas as they fly when the wind dies, some people...

I had arranged for GAR to provide a private charter for myself and 3 others from Dangriga to their island where we were supposed to stay for 4 nights. I had tried to get Becky or Marsh Jo to give me the name and phone number of our captain in advance but they kept telling me they didn't know who...

This place is beautiful. There were plenty of examples of marine life when snorkeling and the reefs were fantastic. Hammocks for public use were strung from all the many coconut trees around the island. There were so many coconuts that whenever you were hungry you could either climb up and get one from a tree or pick one up off...

The maintenance of the resort is in very bad shape in such a beautiful environment ! We are not sure that the thatched cabins will survive to the next typhoon ! Anyway, we were very surprised by the welcome on the atoll (no hello during our stay of 6 days, those people keep on walking when you talked to them...),...

Rustic stay in a basic over the water thatch hut. Shared shower and washroom. No electricity but oil lamp and candles. Beautiful Caribbean water, warm and inviting. Fishing, scuba, snorkelling, kayaks and swimming. Wonderful people from around the world. Free two plus hour ride through the reef to reach the atoll. The most beautiful sunrises in the world. A dream...

We've heard some stories about this place and finally we've been. In one word - amazing. The island is far away from the coast (3 hour boat ride) and has everything a tropical island has to offer. Palm trees, clear blue seas with thousands of cool fishes - including rays, sharks and dolphins -, cabins above the water, sunsets and...

I was skeptical before going to Glover's Atoll Resort. Really. I wanted to go because it seems a very good deal (299 USD per person a week including transportation for a bungalow over the water) but I was scared by some of the reviews: would I be strong enough to live like a Robinson for 1 week? Guess what? I...

Yes, there are composting toilets and the showers smell like egg. Yes there is a bit of rubbish in the middle of the island. Yes you might get slightly wet if it rains. Which it will. BUT this really is paradise, and the view from the shower makes up for the smell. On our first day a dolphin sailed past...

There are so many better places to go to in Belize than this caye. You can still pay budget prices and stay in rustic accommodations but get great customer service in Belize. The staff on this island acted as though guests were a huge inconvenience to them - they were never chatty and avoided hanging around guests. Despite making plans...

This is NOT a luxury resort - but you dont pay resort prices either! We stayed for a week in late March 2015 living in one of the "over the water" cabanas. It was amazing! But you have to be prepared for camping. If you are okay with that, I'd say go for sure. I caught bonefish flyfishing right off...
