It's a trek to get to Glovers Reef, but I would go back in a minute. We went in mid-January and we did have a full week of rain :( but the diving was great and the crew and employees excellent. I am very much interested in conservation, there was a dive instructor that came in from Hawaii with a...

If you want a resort, you don't want Isla Marisol. If you even want something with say... Holiday Inn Standards, this is not the place for you. Isla Marisol is, more or less, rustic. There is running water, and electricity, but I found both to be... intermittent. The electrical wiring in my shower was stripped, which caused sparks to fly...

Isla Marisol Resort is not the Ritz nor the Holiday Inn, everything you mention has been fixed. We're located 36 mile's off the coast and our power is solar and generator, we try our best to provide a service that we feel will make our guest comfortable and enjoy and off the beaten path experience. the comments about us trying...

Wonderful, friendly staff. The snorkeling was great--the best we've ever had. The guide found and pointed out so many things to us. The other guests were mostly families with older children who were delightful to be around. The scuba divers reported great dives and even brought back lionfish for dinner one day. We would love to go back.

We've been to many reef sites in the Caribbean area, but Isla Marisol is the best. Your very own casual cabana with a hammock beside the sea, a staff that's open, friendly, kind, knowledgeable, helpful, willing and professional (hey guys, that's you!). The food is excellent! and plenty of it - even my hollow-legged honey had enough and loved it....

Our notes: -The resort is a very kid-friendly place -Despite reviews to the contrary, there was ample hot water and electricity, due to the resort's careful installation of eco-friendly solar thermal hot water and solar photovoltaic panels for power. -Staff went way out of their way to give us extra guidance in sea kayaking, paddle-boarding for our child, snorkeling, as...

My husband and I did a one tank dive a week ago and used a credit card we very rarely use. Now I am being hit with thousands of dollars of fradulent charges. They either have a thief there or their system is seriously compromised. Also be aware, the sand fleas are terrible, we still have open sores more than...

My wife and I were looking for a vacation destination that catered to snorkelers as well as divers. We also wanted the location to be as natural as possible. But, we like basic luxuries like good food, hot water, and safety. We were a little concerned by the few negative reviews of this resort years ago in Tripadvisor. After all,...

I was invited by one of the dive masters at the resort to dive for a few days as part of a lion fish research project. I've been diving in Florida for over 30 years, and have been sad to see the reefs here decline. I jumped at the chance to see healthy reefs again in Belize. The diving was...

We stayed at Isla Marisol for four nights on our last trip to Belize. We will for sure be back again. This place was so beautifully designed. The island is small, and the little cabanas are right on the water. Food was amazing! Bar was SUPER fun! Best diving in my LIFE! Highly recommend this place. We really enjoyed the...

My husband and I visited Isla Marisol in May and we would go back in a heart beat! We had the premier cabana right on the beach I think it was cabana 4. The cabanas were not luxurious but had everything you needed and the beds were comfortable! How can they not be when you wake up every morning looking...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Isla Marisol Resort lies on a pristine, secluded palm-studded island on Glover's Reef Atoll (a UN World Heritage site) in Belize. Of the five inhabited island on Glover's Reef, Isla Marisol is the only one offering private en-suite bathrooms, fresh water showers, hot and cold water, air conditioning, and daily housekeeping service. Isla Marisol Resort also offers frosty cold libations at our infamous "over the water" bar and phenomenal Belizean style food in our dining room. Incredible watersports are just a stone's throw from the resort, with most diving and snorkeling sites just 5-15 minutes from the island. All ages and experience welcome! Anglers can hit the "grand-slam" from their front porch, with World class fly fishing for tarpon, permit, and bonefish, quite literally at our door step. Daily deep sea fishing trips for Wahoo, Kingfish, Marlin, and a host of other fun fish, depart from Isla Marisol daily. ... more   less
