Can't say enough about El Pescador, its location, and its staff. Stellar fishing, grounds, food, pool, and staff. The guides were fantastic, the household staff lovely, even down to the ground staff. Beautiful location with proximity to San Pedro but privacy. Already looking forward to the return trip!

I came here for the salt water fly fishing and it was great, but El Pescador Resort exceeded all of my expectations. The smiling and courteous staff really make the difference. The hospitality here is something I have not experienced except perhaps in a traditional inn (Ryokan) of Japan. The staff are so warm and friendly at El Pescador. From the...

My wife and I went to El Pescador to spend a few days fly fishing and to see the sights around. The fishing program was outstanding with a large variety of options. The Hotel was very nice and has been recently renovated with great accommodations. Owners, managers, and staff were all very helpful and extremely friendly. The food was better...

I arrived here yesterday with my brand new husband to begin our honeymoon. He is an avid fly fisherman so we decided to stay two days here at El Pescatore before moving onto a more romantic spot for the duration. Now after spending 24 hours here, I don't want to leave! While this is a true fishing destination (I do...

When the rivers and streams in Colorado get covered in ice and snow – where do you go to get your fly fishing fix? How about Belize… This is an Orvis endorsed fly fishing lodge that caters to fly fisherman (and women) that has been around for decades and prides itself on high quality guides, nice accommodations, good food, and...

Honest, this was the best. I was on all inclusive fishing and non fishing package with my family. Never met a more outstanding staff; friendly, courteous, helpful and everyone remembers your name. I was in the new upgraded lodge; as you might suspect well done. Excellent food and good company during dinners. With the happy hour all you can drink;...

You don't have to be a fisherman to enjoy this resort ! From the moment we arrived at the dock to the moment we were kissed good-bye by the owner, we felt totally appreciated and welcome, even by the 2 resident dogs ! The staff looks after your every need with not a whiff of condescension; they actually appear to...

El Pescador is a world class fishing destination in the beautiful country of Belize. The people are warm and direct. The local food prepared expertly at the lodge is delicious. Every need is anticipated and attended to. Primarily a fishing lodge, but it does have many non-fishing activities you can partake in. Scuba, snorkel, kayak or swim right at the...

When planning out girls getaway my only request was all inclusive! El pescador offered that and more! Even though the resort is best known for fishing, they did and amazing job catering to non-fisher women such as ourself! I plan on returning with my family! -service: we were treated like family! While there, the Mosquitos were bad so the girls...

Belize is one of my favorite places to fish for many reasons. Ease of travel; door to door from Houston is only 5-6 hours, 400 sq. miles of fishable water, year round multi-species to target, but the main reason is this resort. The staff or "family" as they are called, deliver genuine world-class service, no matter the task. This year...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
El Pescador’s beachfront lodge and villas are situated on over 45 private acres with ambiance, specializing in fishing, diving and eco-adventures. We are family-owned and operated with emphasis on creating camaraderie and an authentic Belizean experience. El Pescador is proud of our philosophy to protect and nurture friendship, adventure and the environment. El Pescador has long been known as a world-class fishing destination offering outstanding flats fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit. El Pescador has been the only resort on Ambergris Caye specializing in saltwater flats fishing since 1974. Since coming under new ownership in 1997, the resort has established itself as an eco-friendly tropical getaway, including a commitment to offset all carbon emissions generated by its guests flying to Belize. Donations are made on behalf of guests to a local Belizean non-profit organization, Green Reef Environmental Educational and Coastal Research Institute, to offset the carbon emissions used to travel to Belize. El Pescador was also among the key organizations to implement the new Law protecting bonefish, tarpon and permit as catch and release species. This is the most all encompassing legislation of its kind worldwide. It is great news for Belizeans, anglers, tourists and conservationists alike. El Pescador is a serene and gracious establishment on the doorstep of the world’s largest living Barrier Reef. El Pescador offers accommodations in guest rooms within its colonial style, mahogany main lodge, as well as in 1, 2, and 3 bedroom luxury beachfront villas. The villas are perfect accommodations for couples seeking romance and privacy, and for families and small groups traveling together. All rooms and villas are beachfront and have unobstructed views of the Caribbean blue waters. In addition to unequaled fishing, this first-rate resort offers all the eco-adventures which take full advantage of Belize’s exotic flora and fauna. Scuba diving, snorkeling, manatee watching, cave-tubing and zip-lining, and Maya archaeological explorations are just a small assortment of the activities available while staying at El Pescador. ... more   less
