When planning out girls getaway my only request was all inclusive! El pescador offered that and more! Even though the resort is best known for fishing, they did and amazing job catering to non-fisher women such as ourself! I plan on returning with my family! -service: we were treated like family! While there, the Mosquitos were bad so the girls...

Belize is one of my favorite places to fish for many reasons. Ease of travel; door to door from Houston is only 5-6 hours, 400 sq. miles of fishable water, year round multi-species to target, but the main reason is this resort. The staff or "family" as they are called, deliver genuine world-class service, no matter the task. This year...

My son and I spent four days at El Pescador, he for fishing and I for relaxation. The staff was friendly, courteous, and so much fun to talk with. I learned about Belize, the culture, and the people through them. They even let me eat staff lunch, which was the always the local cuisine and brought out their cooks special...

The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. They attend to detail. For instance, I asked for hot tea at dinner one night and each night thereafter I was brought a cup of fresh hot tea and called by name. (I was the only guest drinking tea.) The other aspects of the resort were equally attentive. The bartender knew your name,...

We love el Pescador. Although we had a lot if rain which is not typical we still had an amazing trip. My husband could fish and I got to rest, read and explore. We are planning our second trip back this November. The service is amazing and you instantly feel like family.

El Pescador, I thought was just a fisherman's paradise with expert guides, world-class fishing, and beautiful villas. Ah, it is that and so much more. My husband and I spent five days in a wonderful laid-back atmosphere where the staff treated us like family. There wasn't a need that wasn't met. Each day the varied homemade meals were outstanding: lobster,...

Long standing fishing lodge in Belize that caters to fly fisherman. This place gets it! The attention to every detail and the all-inclusive packaging was ideal for our father/son fly fishing trip. The newly remodeled accommodations were perfect, as was the food and service. The management and staff conducts the operation with a family feel, and makes you feel very...

I enjoyed myself so much on my first visit in August 2013, I had to return!!!!! in September 2014. In comparison to other resorts/hotels El Pescador could be considered small, but to me makes it exclusive and it is 'Family' run, but not at exclusive prices. All of the on hand owners, management and staff in all departments could not...

El Pescador was recommended to me as a good destination for (1) a first bonefishing trip and (2) a good lodge for a non-fishing companion (in this case my wife). This proved to be the case on both counts. We loved the 1950s-era-fishing-lodge ambience of the exterior and grounds and I did not see any other properties that were similarly...

At its essence, El Pescador is a fishing resort--but don't let that put you off! My husband had long dreamed of searching out the wiley bonefish, tarpon and permit in the turquoise waters of Belize, and finally booked the trip to celebrate a "significant" birthday. My definition of the tropics is humidity, snakes and bugs, but I went along anyway....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
El Pescador’s beachfront lodge and villas are situated on over 45 private acres with ambiance, specializing in fishing, diving and eco-adventures. We are family-owned and operated with emphasis on creating camaraderie and an authentic Belizean experience. El Pescador is proud of our philosophy to protect and nurture friendship, adventure and the environment. El Pescador has long been known as a world-class fishing destination offering outstanding flats fishing for bonefish, tarpon and permit. El Pescador has been the only resort on Ambergris Caye specializing in saltwater flats fishing since 1974. Since coming under new ownership in 1997, the resort has established itself as an eco-friendly tropical getaway, including a commitment to offset all carbon emissions generated by its guests flying to Belize. Donations are made on behalf of guests to a local Belizean non-profit organization, Green Reef Environmental Educational and Coastal Research Institute, to offset the carbon emissions used to travel to Belize. El Pescador was also among the key organizations to implement the new Law protecting bonefish, tarpon and permit as catch and release species. This is the most all encompassing legislation of its kind worldwide. It is great news for Belizeans, anglers, tourists and conservationists alike. El Pescador is a serene and gracious establishment on the doorstep of the world’s largest living Barrier Reef. El Pescador offers accommodations in guest rooms within its colonial style, mahogany main lodge, as well as in 1, 2, and 3 bedroom luxury beachfront villas. The villas are perfect accommodations for couples seeking romance and privacy, and for families and small groups traveling together. All rooms and villas are beachfront and have unobstructed views of the Caribbean blue waters. In addition to unequaled fishing, this first-rate resort offers all the eco-adventures which take full advantage of Belize’s exotic flora and fauna. Scuba diving, snorkeling, manatee watching, cave-tubing and zip-lining, and Maya archaeological explorations are just a small assortment of the activities available while staying at El Pescador. ... more   less
