We truly enjoyed our stay at the Gibson Inn. Kimberly was so welcoming we felt like we were staying with family. She was eager to provide recommendations on places to go and things to do as well as tell us all about this wonderful little town. She is a gem! The bartender Mark was also very friendly and and took...

We recently had a family wedding in Apalachicola and many of the guests stayed at the Gibson Inn. The Gibson is quaint, comfortable and has loads of "old Florida" character. Staff were very friendly and personable. They went out of their way to make sure we had a very good experience. Rooms were comfortable though the air conditioners can be...

The staff made us feel like we were guest in their home. They went above and beyond in every way. You could tell that they love what they do. They were the warmest and most knowledgeable people we have encountered in our travels. We look forward to a return visit.

Checked in to my room at this historic hotel and was greeted with a constant vibrating sound from inside. It was annoying enough to force me to change rooms. Space was a bit cramped but a good night's sleep was had. My credit card statement showed that I was charged for two nights instead of one. I had to call...

We stayed here almost by accident. We stopped to shelter from a thunder storm. As we walk into the hotel bar, we were impressed with the "old world" charm of the place. We stayed in very nice room on the second floor. It was clean and well equipped and we enjoyed a good night's sleep in the king size bed....

We walked in and got a very nice room. I wish we hadn't given it up to be closer to the beach at St. George Island, because we had a nightmare stay at the St. George Inn after this great place. The ambiance here is nice, the clientele upscale. Not much breakfast, and it's cold, but it's good enough. The...

The most enjoyable 2 nights of an annual "girls'" trip - I will and have already recommended the Gibson Inn to several friends for a stay. The continental breakfast was enough to get us started in the morning. Happy Hour on the veranda was a pleasant way to end our day.

We were traveling the Florida panhandle in our RV camper and were frustrated there were no campgrounds near Apalachicola - a great little town we really wanted to spend time in (and we were not disappointed once there!!). So, after wandering in and looking around a bit, we splurged and booked a couple nights. What a beautiful early 20th century...

We loved the history of this hotel. The staff was amazing and very very helpful. I do have to say if you stay here stay on the opposite side of the hotel away from the road. Road does get very noisy at night. But the location of the hotel is awesome for sight seeing

This Inn is so full of American History. We enjoyed our weekend there and hearing about the history of the Inn. The employees are so nice and friendly. The best service from check in to check out. Here are a few tips... There is no elevator so if you book on the 3rd floor your walking up stairs (like we...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Gibson Inn is a fine example of Florida "Cracker" Architecture. This was the style of wood frame structure used widely in the 19th and early 20th century in Florida. These homes and businesses are characterized by metal roofs, raised floors, high ceilings, center hallways, and large wrap around porches. A widows walk and cupola crown the tin roof, all a reflection of the area's steamboat past. Built in 1907 of native heart pine and black cypress, the inn soon became known as a first class luxury hotel and was the only one between Pensacola and Jacksonville heated entirely by steam. Now listed on the National Historic Register of Historic Places. Many of the 30 guest rooms are uniquely appointed with authentic antique furnishings, cable TV, telephone, and wireless internet. Each guest room has its own full private bath. ... more   less
