As a group of several women that ride together, we have tried out several guest ranches. Rainbow Trout stands out for the commitment and professionalism of the owners, the excellent quality of their staff, and their wonderful riding trails. We loved every minute of our week there and September was a wonderful time to watch the aspens change. The horses...

This was our 5th trip to Rainbow Trout Ranch. The first 4 were with our children - it is an AWESOME place for a family vacation. This trip was an adult only vacation for us - it was fabulous. We will never try another ranch - this one is too perfect.

My family has been going to dude ranches for family vacations and then family reunions for over 40 years. They are great for brining multiple generations together - everyone can find their own activity. We have gone to RTR for the past 20 years - every other or there about - and it has provided great memories and enjoyment for...

This summer we spent a wonderful week at Rainbow Trout Ranch. This trip represented our sixth ranch vacation but the first at a different ranch. We chose Rainbow Trout Ranch for several reasons: the children's program, the location and the option of trying some additional activities that were not offered at the ranch we had visited previously (white water rafting,...

Our first Dude Ranch and what an experience! This is a fabulous, supremely well run family affair set in glorious surroundings. The staff are efficient, friendly and fun, the food is very good and the horses are amazing. Under a canopy of blue we set off on numerous rides across meadows, through rivers climbing to the Aspen forests which with...

RTR is family owned and it shows. Doug & Linda and David & Jane (and their children) provide wonderful Iowa roots hospitality and treat you like family. The scenery is spectacular, especially while relaxing on the porch or out horseback riding. The lodge and cabins are immaculately spotless and every detail has been well thought out. There is no internet,...

My family has been going now for 19 years! We have been to several ranches as well over the years and none of them come close to the activities at Rainbow Trout Ranch. The riding program is fantastic. Lodging, food, staff, and the owners are all wonderful. I have been fly fishing for over 30 years and have fished in...

We have been to many ranches but this is the one that we would keep going back to! The hospitality of the hosts and staff was superior! The accommodations were modest but clean and comfortable and very appropriate to the ranch atmosphere. The food was outstanding as well as the service and accommodation of special requests. Horses were of good...

Four of us stayed 3 days at this lovely place. We loved the friendliness of the owners and staff, the setting, the cabins, the meals, the hikes, and the horses. Being September, we were there at the end of the season, but our horses were fresh and sound, responsive, and looked great. The scenery is wonderful. They showed us a...

We went again - can't help ourselves. Great outdoors Rocky Mountain scenes, hugely friendly people, good horses. Huge fun. Trotting, loping, moseying, equal to the best trail riding we have ever done. A week is good. 2 weeks is better. It's a fair trip to get there, but worth it. Really a big trip for us, because we came from...
