Just wanted to take a minute to say Thank You to the staff of the hotel! This was our first trip to the Steam Train Hotel and actually to Colorado and we can't wait to come back! We had the best time talking with every worker and guest at the hotel, everyone was so welcoming and knowledgeable. Our rooms were...

In the room we stayed in one our of four blinds did not work. The furniture in the bedroom was rickety. We asked for the blinds to be fixed and provided with clean towels in the morning and returned at night to find nothing had been done. The brochure advertises "hot breakfast." What they provided was stale donuts, and very...

My boyfriend and i recently stayed at the Steam Train Hotel for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay very much! We were in room # 2, which is a suite with a nice big jacuzzi, a queen bed, and a nice kitchen for all our needs. The staff was great! We came in from a long day on the train...

Well it wasn't a good experience. Room was not clean. The place allows pot smoking and it smelled. I don't use pot. They did let us cancel extra night. It was a bad experience. I would stay in Alamosa next time if doing wonderful train trip to Chama . We ended up driving to Chama. It was a bad decision...

"Room was not clean" This is the first time someone has written something to make our long term cleaning lady feel terrible. She keeps the place immaculate. People are not allowed to smoke in our rooms. There is a hemp factory next store. These women didn't complain about this to Paul or Tegan (our daughter) who were available all night....

Stayed two nights in connection with riding the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad. Nicely decorated for the period of 1911. A bit pricey 149 plus tax for the night. Staff was friendly, room had a jacuzzi. Where things went south was the billing. We had used booking.com where you don't pay til you show up. We had reserved two rooms...

My family of four, including two young kids, found this hotel to be perfect for our 3-night stay for a family event in La Jara. We were in one of the suites with kitchen and Jacuzzi tub. The staff was very attentive from check-in to check-out, showing true care for each guest's stay. Jeanne answered the phone even when she...

Spent a night here before heading up into the South San Wilderness for a hiking trip. Like some others have noted, this place will either be to your liking or it won't. Its a historic hotel that has clearly gone through at least one cycle of run-down and refurbishment; the current incarnation is clean and functional and quite well done,...

We stayed here three nights and enjoyed our room and hosts. We had room 6 which had a king bed, flat screen tv and good size bathroom. Most nights we slept with the window open and had a great night breeze. Very good location to the train station and other places in the area. The hosts/owners were around and very...

You can't expect much in this town but for a historic hotel this place was much better than what we expected. When we arrived the front door was locked and we did have to call the attendant to register us. He was quite friendly and helpful. The room had a window AC, a nice flat screen tv, comfy bed, and...

If what you need is a shower and a bed to sleep in... this place is okay... as a matter of fact there are not many choices in Antonito. The hotel is about 3 blocks from the Cumbres and Toltec Scenic Railroad Station. A brief survey of the main street revealed one restaurant, two (legal) pot stores (one in the...
