The Ramada in Arcata is an excellent place to stay- it is quiet, safe, and clean. Nice room with comfortable bed, tv with a lot of channels, on quiet road but only a few minutes drive from downtown Arcata and HSU, beach, forest, etc. The ramada is the best motel in the area
There was a baby toy under the dresser and a food box behind the dresser. Towels were dirty. Walls were dirty. Window was so dirty you could hardly see how of it. The doors into the hallways do not look so anyone off the street can walk in. It did not feel as even basic cleaning measures had been taken let alone enhanced cleaning measures. This is by far the dirtiest room I have ever stayed in. It was supposed to be a special get away to the coast before my sister starts her chemo and radiation and the hotel room was a huge let down.
Well worth the stay (with all the motel/hotel properties) in the area, clearly this is one of the best! Staff very efficient & cordial. Although, seem to get some homeless/non-compliant types/possible hackers staying here as well! Well, we are in a pandemic!!!
Cleaning lacking. Old. Carpet torn. Furniture delaminating. Clorox wiped everything in sight. Price...too expensive for quality of room. Micro barely functional. Pillows wafer thin. There are many other places to select.
I really don’t want to be rude, as this place had a comfy bed—but it was one cockroach short of being classified as a “roach motel” (to the credit of this location, I did not see any roaches; unfortunately, that’s the best compliment I can give it). The rooms were incredibly uncomfortable, from the outdated furniture and decor (some frames with no pictures, discolored microwave, gross carpet, no insulation/soundproofing). We could hear people all around us and felt like neighbors could hear anything we were saying. Hallways were filled with stanky smoke. If I paid $40 for the night, I wouldn’t be complaining, but I have much higher expectations for the Ramada chain and rooms that are in the $100 range midweek. I’ve stayed in some shady spots over the years and I will never return to this location. I would highly recommend skipping if you’re even remotely on the fence about staying here. …
