Such a facade! We stayed here after The Grand Californian Hotel ran out of rooms when we wanted to extend our stay. What a better place than to stay @ The Hilton right? WRONG! I never leave reviews so this is bad. Walk into the hotel and it’s so nice and updated. It lures you in. The rooms are a completely different story. Not only are they outdated but it’s so run down. The bathroom was slanted. The hanging door didn’t even close correctly and there was a gap. No privacy at all. The bathroom ensures a “clean stay” there was left over hair from a previous person all over the bathroom and bath tub. So disgusting. The amount of dust in the vents and walls is astonishing. Especially the vent in the shower 🥴. Furniture is chipped, mirror paint is chipped. The grossest part was that drain that drips into the bath tub from the ceiling. Where is that water coming from?! It was such an inconvenience if you forgot your room key. You could not go up or down in the elevator without it. The pool furniture looked as if it hasn’t been cleaned in years as well as the pool. Let’s just say we left before check out. The only good thing about our room was the view we had at the 12th floor and we’re able to see the fireworks. I kept thinking how is this the Hilton? This isn’t even deserving of a Hilton name. A Holiday Inn is so much nicer than this hotel. We will not be returning here.

The hotel is in a great location, on face value has great facilities, but it is totally de-personalised. It is a busy conference hotel of course, but the staff just seem beaten in to submission,. I can't remember really a friendly face. In particular, the various shops (which I don't think are managed by Hilton) and Disney Desk are particularly unhelpful and unfriendly. My room was great, the breakfast experience was ok, the gym is really good and actually the staff there were great. But other than those, it was just really really average. As a HH Diamond, at no stage was I made to feel particularly welcome or valued. Just really disappointing.

Very good location. If you're going to Disney, there are places that are a little closer, but this property has nice-sized rooms and some have a view of Disneyland. We watched the evening Disney show from our room one night, which was a great perk. The hotel bartender was tremendous; when Starbucks was closed, he made us hot water, lemon and salt and was extremely helpful. He was the highlight of our stay and bumped this review from a 3 to a 4.

It could use a refresh and recarpeting, but you can't argue with the location.

Thank you Jody for your kind review of your Hilton Anaheim experience. I am thrilled that our hotel stood out when you were deciding on where to stay for your Disney trip. Our hotel is ideal location-wise, we are close enough to be able to access the park however we also are right in the heart of of the Convention District making us also ideal for business travelers. It sounds like your stay was perfect in every way and I could not be more thrilled. I am especially pleased to know you had such wonderful experiences with our hotel staff. On behalf of all the team I hope that you will return to our Hilton Anaheim again very soon. Shaun R., GM

We loved our stay! Great view of the park & fireworks. Nice staff. All of the employees in the halls were friendly and said hello. Fast room service (burrata & toast is excellent). We walked to the park and it took 18 mins door to door. Not bad.
Beds were so comfortable after a long day at the park. Will stay here again.

Apparently I had written a review of this hotel once before. When I walked into the hotel this time on January 22, 2020 I had Deja Vu of a visit 25 years earlier. The room, it's furnishings were exactly the same. And, yes they were the same, the bed was hard yet lumpy and there was absolutely no support. I kept wanting to call my son-in-law who owns a mattress company to bring me a new mattress. The furniture was easily 25 years old and tattered, as was the carpeting and the window dressings. Amazing they have a 92 percent booked in full rate with all that was going on in this hotel, and NOT good things. I stayed for 9 days, of these 9 days, 5 days I had cold showers. I complained for 3 days, but just was too busy to pack up all of my belongings and move to another room. Not that would've helped on my second to last day someone else staying in the hotel was telling me they had the same issue not hot water and they were on a different floor. I was given 3 days credit and 40K in Hilton Honors points, but this hotel just does not live up to the Hilton Standards I am used to. I was told that they are to start renovations. (I personally will never intentionally stay at this hotel again, until the renovations are complete) They were having other issues as well with raw sewage smells wafting through the hallway by the Starbucks and down toward the food court. The baggage handler said it is a regular occurrence once a month after they clean the pipes? I've never heard of such a thing, but most likely they have a septic tank and possibly need to have it cleaned that often. How can such a large facility be on a septic tank though? Service was up to par of a Hilton, they just couldn't get the plumbing fixed. Hopefully, they will listen to all of the terrible reviews I am reading and have read and upgrade this hotel, especially for the prices they are charging.

Dear @jlfaa, Thank you for your 9-day stay with us at the Hilton Anaheim. Please accept my apologies for any disappointment experienced with the quality of our accommodations. While I can assure you that our property has definitely been renovated within the last 25 years, it is true that our guest rooms do see a significantly higher amount of traffic than your average Hilton hotel. This is because of both our overall size and our vicinity to the Anaheim Convention Center and Disneyland Resort. I am very glad to hear that our team helped to make things right for you with the 3 day credit and Honors points. We are absolutely looking forward to an upcoming renovation and we do hope you return to stay with us once complete. Thank you for taking the time to leave this honest review and please know that we do appreciate your business.

Out of all hotels near Disneyland I was recommended to sign up for Hilton Honors and stay at the Hilton, which I did.. and safe to say it was not what I expected. The arrival experience resulted as a disappointment; there were 8 other family members also all checking in making a total of 5 rooms total. Being that I had payed extra online to reserve an upgraded room with a view, we were not surprised to find out that their rooms were not ready. While at the front desk the receptionist offered a $25 fee for early check in with my room, considering how much luggage there was with all couples I decided to take up the offer so that my family members could leave there luggage in my room until their room was ready to avoid the walk back to the parking structure later on and to also allow them to utilize the room for any needs before all heading out to both Disneyland Parks. Once being handed over the card keys for the room is when the news of the room being on the 5th floor was given.. and that came to a complete surprise. I mentioned to the receptionist aside from the clarified $25 early arrival fee, how I had payed for an upgraded room yet receiving the a basic room on a lower level. Sadly, she made no effort to care about the situation and not want to make a big deal about it, we all left. Once in the room is when we noticed the view was horrible where all we were able to see was the roof of the building next door and tress blocking the sun. Ignoring that, we take some time to rest and realize the tv does not work as it began to blink on and off every 5 seconds or so. Then the sliding door from the bathroom did not shut completely due to the floor not being leveled in the doorway area. In the end although were accommodated for the $25, we still payed the price of an upgraded room but placed in a room completely the opposite. The receptionist could’ve AT LEAST refunded the difference from the upgraded room and the basic room but unfortunately she did not care to do so.

Dear icabrera94, Thank you for staying with us at the Hilton Anaheim as our proximity to the parks certainly makes our hotel a desirable destination. We rely on guest feedback as this is our best resource for improvements and achieving superior guest satisfaction. I am sorry for the frustration you felt regarding the guest room assigned and the maintenance issues you faced. This is certainly atypical. We value thoughtful feedback like yours, as it allows us to know where our team is truly shining, or where we can work together to elevate the overall guest experience even further. There seemed to have been a lapse in service by our Maintenance team. They are committed to attending to all the issues you highlighted as they are well aware that it is the small details that make a stay impeccable. Thank you for your kind review. We look forward to seeing you again and ensuring a seamless visit! Kind regards, Shaun Robinson, GM

Talk about bait-and-switch.

When I was looking for a hotel to stay in for our Disneyland trip, I decided to go with Hilton Anaheim for two reasons:

1. The hotel is close to the parks.
2. It is a Hilton property, and, since I am a Diamond Hilton Honors member, we would receive Food & Beverage credits to use during our stay, so we could save some money on breakfast.

I did read the reviews that were mostly unflattering, but I thought, “How bad could it be? It is Hilton!”. The pictures on the website look great plus it is one of the Convention Center hotels, so if business travelers are staying here, it sure will be ok to stay at Hilton Anaheim for a few days.

Spoiler alert: wrong!

I think the elevators take you through a secret tunnel to a Motel 6 or some other beat-up roadside motel where you would only stay if you had some kind of car trouble. To be honest, I’ve never stayed at a Motel 6, so this comparison could be very unfair to the motel.

You go from a nice lobby to a room where all furniture is completely worn out, the fridge is cracked, the air vent in the bathroom is absolutely nasty, the bed is the hardest hotel bed we’ve ever slept in, mystery stains EVERYWHERE, and the bathroom door doesn’t even close all of the way.

The “private” balcony is anything but private. Make sure the balcony door is locked all the time because absolutely any of your neighbors can easily climb over the divider to visit your room.

While we have encountered some hotels that could use a refurbishment, none of them needed it so badly as Hilton Anaheim. This is the only Hilton property I would not recommend. It is so bizarre Hilton would allow this property to be in such horrible shape. There are so many other hotels nearby and most of them are priced on par with this one. Why would anyone want to stay here?

Once the business conferences resume, I would love to sit at the lobby bar having a drink and watching a stream of businesspeople checking in and then swiftly exiting after they see what condition the rooms are in.

Situated just a stones throw from the conference centre, the hotel is the ideal location for delegates at any conference. Although not the cheapest in the area, the facilities and proximity of this hotel make it a convenient location. The property itself is massive, with a number of banquet halls and function rooms on site, large parking structure, and a number of restaurants and bars on site.

Guest check in Can be a bit hit and miss, due to the sheer scale of the place. On our arrival there was a massive line which took 25 minutes to reach the front. However, one of my fellow guests arrived later and was dealt with relatively quickly. The main foyer is a rather grand affair with a number of sections leading to a small mall With the usual souvenir outlets, fast food and coffee vendors, pretty much most of what you would need if you forgot something.

The room I was allocated on the 6th floor had two queen beds, and all of the usual functions you would expect, e.g. Direct dial phone, Internet, tea coffee facilities, hair dryer, ironing board, large closet, writing desk, cable TV, alarm Etc. The bathroom was well appointed, clean and had limited but acceptable toiletries provided. The birds were comfortable with good quality linen and good pillows. The air conditioning didn’t have to be touched for my entire stay and was a comfortable temperature throughout.

Unlike on previous occasions, we chose not to have the breakfast package but rather opted for a quick coffee and pastry from the on site Starbucks. We did have some bar snacks from the lobby bar which were tasty and not too expensive. The cheesecake in particular it was very tasty. Bar prices were typically on the high side, but again you are paying for the convenience of the location.

In terms of restaurants and facilities near to the hotel there are a number of good quality venues within walking distance. There is also some large pharmacies and small supermarkets within a 10 minute walk. Paid parking on site is available and plentiful, so if you wish to drive to some of the many renowned restaurants and bars within Anaheim you also have that option.

Overall, there was little to fault with this hotel, it was modern, clean and fully functional with all of the facilities you would require on site. In terms of being a base for any conference in the adjacent conference centre you probably could not find anything more convenient.

In terms of tips and recommendations, I would recommend skipping the expensive breakfast, and simply grabbing a hot drink or snack from the many outlets in the foyer area. The rooms are pretty much similar in terms of facilities and standards so simply book what suits your needs.

In terms of negatives, the prices do seem high but again you are paying for the convenience and location. I would recommend shopping around and using any loyalty bonuses that you may have to either reduce the cost or get a free upgrade.

We have just stayed in Hilton hotels in Sydney, and Honolulu (our 3rd visit in 12 months)

The Anaheim Hilton is a beautiful hotel outside, in the lobby area and pool. It is in a great location for the Disneyland parks.

However, the guest rooms are old and tired with dark furnishings, carpet and drapes.
Bathroom is like a motel 6; walls and doors chipped and in need of paint; the mirror is losing its silvering; while plentiful, the towels were thin and the cabinets need upgrading. We had one tube of lotion supplied for the five days we stayed. Room attendant was forever moving things around from where we left them. Bathroom light bulb was out for the 2nd to last day of our stay. Asked to have it repaired at 3:00 pm; it was still out when we returned that night from the park. Called again at 8:00 pm and asked a second time to have it repaired at which time it was.

Wifi was very spotty and kept kicking me off while using it.

I am a Hilton Honors member and while we were compensated US $ 75 for the bathroom light inconvenience we will think twice before returning to this Hilton property.

Dear 83garyb83 While we trust that our location, within walking distance of Disneyland, our lobby, pools and grounds left you impressed, we are sorry to learn that other aspects of your visit fell short of expectation. Our guest rooms vary in design and décor and we regret to hear your room did not live up to your expectations on this occasion. We do have planned enhancements to our guest rooms. Further, I do apologize that you left the hotel less than satisfied with the services you received as we all take great pride in providing our guests with the highest standards of service and accommodation and in resolving issues urgently while on property. Please be assured that we have shared your experience with the internet connection with our IT support team to be reviewed and addressed. The housekeeping glitches were an uncharacteristic mishap and our Head of Housekeeping has been made aware. Though the maintenance issue was resolved, the lack of timeliness was revelatory. Receiving negative feedback is certainly unfortunate, however it allowed us to review our operations to ensure a seamless stay for future guests. For this reason, we can confidently invite you to return to our Hilton Anaheim and allow us another opportunity to provide you a memorable experience. Regards, Shaun Robinson, General Manager

This was a Saturday night VIP dinner in which you bought individual places at a table for ten. Seated with eight others, you were soon to introduce yourself to and enjoy their company for the duration of the meal, awards and a concert. Many old ( let’s just say, my age group ) rockers. Some I used to enjoy on the radio. This was a night of just people everywhere in the Hilton. Luckily found parking not too far away, very lucky. This was my first visit to the convention and while I would go again, the invitation will come again or it will not. Music, food, drinks, drinks, food, music. A band in every direction, behind every door, just down the hall, on the floor above or below. All within this space was nicely done, clean, and managed with care and taken care of. Their maintaince practices were generally good. I can find no faults, just the very crowded conditions.

Whenever I've booked outside of Hilton I've asked them to add my Honors Rewards at check-in. I travel for business and use a travel card for points it's hit or miss if it goes through so I check the App after two weeks to make sure it went through if not I submit a claim. You can still get a digital key.
