Guests at the Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites frequently commend the hotel for its standout location just across from Disneyland, which, along with the hotel's reasonable rates, is often cited as providing excellent value. The rooms are recognized for their cleanliness and space, accommodating families comfortably, despite some comments about the need for updates and maintenance. The staff's friendliness and helpfulness are frequently praised, although the amenities and continental breakfast are considered basic. Noise can be an issue due to loud appliances and external sounds, but the overall atmosphere is described as clean and functional.

Friendly staff and always helpful right away. Convenient location right next to Disneyland. Walking distance. Able to come and go to the park and not have to worry about parking. Can be a little noisy but that’s because of inconsiderate guests and not the hotel’s fault.

I’ve stayed at Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites multiple times and it has always been a terrific experience! We celebrated my Mom’s birthday over the weekend in one of the 2 bedroom family parlor suites, and it was clean, spacious, well kept and comfortable. Also the service there, from the parking valets, to the lobby employees were top notch. And to top it all off, you are literally walking distance away from the Disneyland Resort (closer walking distance than even their own Disneyland Hotel).

Location and distance were very important for us because in order to ride Disneyland’s Star Wars Rise of the Resistance, you have to be inside of the park’s gate either before or right when it opens in order to secure a boarding group pass for the ride. Being so close to the park and not having to worry about parking in Disneyland’s parking structure and then catching a tram to the park saved us a lot of time and headache.

We were able to get in the park before it opened, secure an early boarding group for Rise of the Resistance, go back to the hotel and enjoy their continental breakfast, then go back to Disneyland and ride Rise of the Resistance when our boarding group was called. We were able to do this both days we were there and had a fantastic time. (Rise of the Resistance by the way is terrific and a game changer!)

I want to send a special thank you to Teo, Peter, Gema, and all of the staff at Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites for their generosity, kindness, and courteousness in making my mom’s birthday special. She told me that this trip was exactly what she needed and wanted, so thanks again for putting a smile on my mom’s face all weekend!

We stayed 5 nights in July and had a really good time. One of the main reasons we picked this hotel was location, having stayed at others in the area on previous trips. The hotel was pretty much exactly as advertised.
We had an early flight and loved that there were very reasonably priced lockers on site we could use to store our items and head to the park. Check in was quick and easy. The room itself was as expected. Nothing fancy but had what we needed. We stayed in one of the two bedroom units with a full bath on one side and a toilet/sink on the other. This was perfect for our needs. The room was comfortable and clean. Lots of towels, though they are a bit on the small side. The small fridge was great for us to keep snacks and drinks in and the microwave was nice too to heat up those snacks. The garbage trucks come by pretty early in the morning, but we were usually up already so it wasn't an issue for us. We did use the pool. It was a bit on the cold side, but was great to cool down in during the hot afternoons. Breakfast was very basic, but at least there was one offered. We did watch the fireworks from the rooftop patio one night and it was a decent view.
The room keys are extremely sensitive and we had to get ours reactivated a few times, which they were able to do quickly for us. Do bring your id if you need to do this as they want to make sure you are the actual room user (I would have been quite uncomfortable if they didn't ask for this).

We stay here a few times a year when visiting Disneyland.

The price is right
I like the locker storage
TV channels are good (no Disney jr though)
Beds are firm (good)

The biggest CON I have is that the hideous hall lights will flood your room all night. I get that they need these lights for safety, but do realize the faux shutters do not block the light. I wish they’d go back to curtains.
I prefer the loud a/c unit in these rooms as I use it to block out noise.
Also, do not stay under the roof deck unless you like to hear furniture being moved around above you all night.
But other than all that stuff it’s alright.

The Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites is located right across the street from the Disneyland and California Adventure Park Entrances, it's literally closer than the Disneyland Hotel. For our 3-days of park hopping the location was perfect. We walked to and from the park everyday, and were close enough to walk back if someone needed a break or forgot something.
We booked the "C2 Parlor Family Suites Up to 10 guests". We traveled with 7 adults in two vehicles. The room we stayed in had two bedrooms with 2 queen size beds in each (4 beds total) and a "living room" with a pull out sofa bed. Each bedroom had a bathroom with tub/shower combo. There was a fridge in the room and the HVAC worked well. This location met all our needs and we would absolutely stay here again.
That being said, this is not the location for you if you're looking to be wow-ed. The customer service was average at best and while no one was rude or incompetent, no one went above or beyond to ensure we had a great stay. Check in was available after 3pm as advertised. The parking lot filled up so we had to valet one of our two cars. The walkways to the rooms are long and narrow making luggage carts difficult to maneuver. But there are stairs and elevators to accommodate everyone. We appreciated being near an Ice machine and a stair case. The Wifi was weak. The indoor pool was very crowded our first night but completely deserted the second, the "hot tub" was more of a warm bath temperature so we didn't spend any time there.
In addition to being walking distance to the parks this hotel is located between a Denny's and an IHOP, it's also walking distance to a McDonalds and a Walgreens.
The grab n go breakfast is a brown bag with an apple, a small OJ a nature valley bar and a squished Danish. Better than nothing but only just.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again. The convenience of the location makes up for the questionable amenities.

Stayed here for three nights in mid-September. When I booked, all that was available was an A1 Parlor Suite, which sleeps up to six, and that seemed excessive for a solo traveler, but the price was still quite a bit less than the other hotels on the same block.

I arrived around 11pm (they had called and left a message while I was on the plane to see when I would be arriving). Checked in pretty quickly and directed to my room (414). I attached a photo of the map at the desk, which appears confusing at first glance.

The room was clean, but very basic. A little bit worn; the refrigerator was NOT stable on the tray it was sitting on and rocked precariously every time the door was opened or closed. Beds were comfortable. Plenty of storage space for just me, but there could be a shortage of hangers if you were actually putting six people in this room. I did note that the sofa looked like a true queen size, as even folded up it was a long width. Air conditioning was fine, but the fan that connects the rooms if you close the door to the “sitting area” would be VERY loud and obnoxious to have running all night.

Bathroom was clean, toiletries were adequate (note no conditioner, so bring your own if you need it). Could see Matterhorn Mountain from the window next to the vanity, and IncrediCoaster and Guardians of the Galaxy from outside the front door.

Breakfast was lacking and I understand that is due to COVID. Paper bag with an apple or orange, a small cereal/granola bar, and a packaged pastry. No beverage, although someone who stayed recently told me they got water in their bag. Walk to Disneyland property was quick; from the front sign of the hotel until approaching security was four minutes, including waiting for the crosswalk light (which was about two minutes). There are panhandlers at the crosswalk at all hours and people selling $1 bottled water and cheap light up toys when you leave at night - the only other time I’ve stayed on this side of the property was in April for Touch of Disney, when things were much more deserted. None of them are aggressive or bothersome, just something to be aware of.

I did not use the pool or hot tub, but my quick look in the room looked clean and suitable. They also have large lockers ($1.50 in quarters each time you lock it) to store luggage in. Also did not use the fireworks viewing deck as a) there weren’t any actual fireworks during my weeknight only stay and b) I saw the projection show in the park.

As a travel agent, I would recommend this hotel to my clients, but they are unfortunately not a hotel that can be booked as a “Disneyland Good Neighbor” package. If you’re booking on your own, by all means, stay here! It’s no frills, inexpensive, and fills the basic needs of a hotel room. I would stay here again but I am trying other hotels in the area on my next future stay, to round out my recommendations.

This is one of the old motor-lodge properties across from the entrance to Disneyland, they have done a good job updating it and it is a great value.

The location is the star, literally a few minutes from your room to the security checkpoint. We love being so close so we can get an early start at the park then go back to the room at 1 or 2 pm for lunch and a rest. We eat dinner around 5 and head back into the park at 6.

The breakfast is pretty basic but you can grab some hard-boiled eggs and coffee to have while you wait in line for the park to open.

For a good, clean and comfortable room this is the place!

We visit Disneyland five to six times per year and we always try to find the most convenient hotels; Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites is the perfect location. Four of us stayed in a standard room from Feb. 13th-16th and the rooms are basic, but clean and the beds are comfortable. For an average of $275 per night, it's well worth it especially at the end of a very long day at the parks. The only thing we didn't like about the hotel was the fact that they will not store your luggage in the hotel. You have to pay to put your luggage in storage lockers that are located down from the office.

I have been told before that this was a great place to stay when visiting Disneyland so I booked a trip for this last weekend and it exceeded my expectations! The location is literally right across the street from the entrance to Disneyland/California Adventure/Downtown Disney. It is also nestled right in between Denny's and iHop which is perfect when you want to grab a quick breakfast and nice sit down dinner. Also a little bit further down the road is McDonald's and Panera Bread so many options to choose from. The hotel itself was wonderful! Included in your overall price is either self parking (which is there isn't a lot of) or valet parking which is perfect if you don't plan on leaving the area and want your car secured. The room was spacious and perfect. Also, very clean and neat which makes it an even more enjoyable stay. They have a rooftop deck so if you get tired of being at Disneyland, you can go all the up to the deck and still be able to watch the firework show. Just an overall wonderful stay. I will definitely be booking a stay at this hotel again!!!

This was our fourth trip to Disneyland and we have previously stayed at Grand Californian and the Disneyland Hotel, as well as the Anaheim Hilton. The Anaheim Desert Inn and Suites has none of the frills or those resorts, everything is budget - down to the styrofoam cups in the bedrooms, but at more than a third of the price of some of those resorts, one couldn’t argue with the value for money of this hotel.

Most importantly, the hotel is literally across the road from both Disney theme parks - I would estimate closer to the park than the Disneyland hotel itself. The rooms are ample size and comfortable.

Overall, this is definitely a budget option, but you couldn’t find somewhere closer to the park and while you could criticise the plastic/styrofoam cups in rooms, the need to pay to store your luggage ($1.50) etc, there is no doubt that for the price this hotel is excellent value for money and everything that you need to enjoy a trip to Disneyland.

We wouldn’t bother with the more expensive hotels in the future if we were to visit Disneyland and would stay in the Desert Inn and Suites again without hesitation.
