We spent two nights at the Imperial Hotel as we explored the gold country and its many wineries. The hotel is authentically and tastefully furnished with period antiques and our room was charming, clean and comfortable. The Happy Hour on Wed night features free appetizers and wonderful music and it appeared that all the locals come out for a good...

Amador City is a very quiet town and so is the Imperial Hotel. No noise even sleeping on the Main Street, the most noise you will hear are the creaking old floor boards. The rooms are antiqued without phones or tv (OK for us). Wifi worked just fine for those that crave such connections. There is a lovely 3 mile...

Historic old town of the gold rush era. The main town is only one block wide and one block long, but full of historic buildings, antic stores of clothes and relics, as well as restaurants or bakery stores. Hotel has rooms for around $100 per night with its own restaurant. A "yard" with metal trellises of various types and a...

Did not stay but was backed up in traffic with an accident and stumbled upon the most lovely place that had me wisked back in time, where the whole community comes together once a week to eat drink and be merry in the middle of the week. Great FREE apps, interesting music, and fresh made cocktails. so happy that I...

My daughter and I loved this place. We planned a weekend visit to Amador County, and our stay here on the first night was exceptional. Peter welcomed us with enthusiasm to this 1879 hotel in the historic mining town. A modern bathroom, comfortable beds, and air conditioning added to our comfort. Dinner was exceptional, and the included breakfast was fine....

I went to brunch with my daughter. The waitress was very friendly. The eggs benedict were delicious and the price was right! The Bloody Mary's were exceptionally good. We ate on the patio in front with an umbrella over the table. The whole experience in Amador City was calming and beautiful.

On a recent trip to the wine country of the Sierra foothills we decided to spend a night instead of making it a day trip. The Imperial Hotel is a treat for a one night stay. It's a late 1800s site so you are not going to get all the luxury of a new venue. What you do get is...

A lovely little town nestled in the hills of wine and gold country. the staff is very friendly and they were more than happy to share the hotels rich history. Ask for Pete. He has been in the area most of his life and is extremely friendly...

My husband and I stayed here while visiting wineries in gold country. It actually was a hotel I used to stay at with my parents as a child. It is a cute, historic-feeling hotel with cozy rooms and dining/bar downstairs. The rooms are all unique and have a old-style atmosphere to them. The hotel is in downtown Amador City with...
