Nice location off of the interstate. Quiet and clean with free breakfast. Evening hot chocolate chip cookies was a great surprise for the weary family on the road. The hotel is within a minute walk to several restaurants and shops. The room was nicely appointed and clean.

Stayed seven days at alpine lodge. 5/29/2016. Staff was great, rooms are very nice, like new. Pool and spa was well maintained. Lodge is next to small shopping plaza. easy to find next to freeway without the noise. Was very pleased overall. Will stay there on our next San Diego visit.

We were caught short and had no accomodation on a long weekend. After having a horrendous night the night before at a different motel, we opened the door to our room and we were really surprised- it was lovely!! Cozy, clean, nicely decorated, comfy bed, large lovely pillows and more than one each. Ironing facilities, ice bucket, coffee machine. Afternoon...

My parents were visiting, and we wanted to go to Julian/Anza Borrego but stay a little closer to San Diego. This hotel was a great choice. It was quiet, right next to the outlets where we wandered around, and the staff was incredibly friendly!

There are few reviews here about this being off the grid etc., this isn't really that place. If you are looking for a motel, this one is better than most, but if you are looking for a more comfortable hotel, to get away out of the city, this is not the place. None of the pictures show that this is...

My room was clean and had updated decor. The grounds were nice. The freeway was right by us, but there was very little noise from the road. The price seemed about right. My only gripe was that the hotel staff knew nothing about the nearby hiking trails. I was handed a trail list (no map) that was about 8 years...

Pulling off the freeway I was concerned. ...it's right off it...yes great access but we would be there 4 nights ,we never heard any freeway noise. Rustic rooms with niceties like old looking bed posts, crown moldings, and chair railing. The main lobby has a great common area with a working fireplace. Pool, guest laundry, heated pool and hot tub....

The "alpine" feel of the hotel comes through. Breakfast plus warm cookies and fruit at night are a special bonus. Pool and spa sparkle. Restaurants are across the parking lot, and the freeway is hidden behind the mass of a hill, making this a private and quiet, yet convenient location. For great value, this is a worthy choice.
