Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for a weekend getaway with family. Check-in was relatively simple as I utilize the Hilton app and picked my own room prior to arrival. I did however, obtain physical keys at the front desk received two bottles of water from the from the desk clerk who was all business with no real conversation at all. As we were in the lobby, I overheard employees calling for security due to marijuana being smoked in the hotel as I entered the elevator the elevator stunk of marijuana and several individuals who were partying, walked by with the smell emanating off of them. You would expect this at a Motel 6, not a Hilton.. room was pretty basic with standard amenities however we did find the room to be relatively dark with inadequate lighting. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom amenities were sufficient and it had decent water pressure. No real area to sit down except for a desk chair. Making relaxing in the room with family not an option. This location used to be a different hotel, and it is obvious that all they did was slap the name on the building and change a few things. There is no pool and valet parking is $60 per night. There is a small bar in the lobby as well as a restaurant that has decent food. However better options are available around the corner at several local restaurants. Hotel is only two blocks from Union Station as well as close to the Capitol and the mall making it a great base for tourist activities. Would stay here again if the price was right, but would not pay typical Hilton rates.

Hotel's Favourite
The staff here are amazing. Gaby and Alain were great from check in to check out. Every employee at this hotel really takes care of you. Even the security guards would go out of their way to greet you. Cant say it enough, this staff is truly the most professional.

Check-in was simple and efficient.
The lobby was torn up and under construction. It was somewhat of a pain and bathrooms on certain floors (for the conference I was attending) were closed. The noise was not bothersome and it stopped by 6 p.m.
Although the price was in line with similar hotels nearby, more than $300 a night for a basic room (that was the conference rate) seemed excessive. I guess you're paying for the location not the quality of the hotel.
I was in room 703. It was sizable but dated with a burn mark or hole in the rug by the bed and chipped paint on the bathroom door. It faced the front of the hotel and New Jersey Avenue. The light was nice, but it was noisy at times.
The bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of water pressure for showering. There was also lots of storage space for towels and toiletries in the bathroom which was nice.
One surprising and bothersome thing was that I put the "privacy please" card on the door because I did not want to have the room serviced. However, when I came back in the afternoon, housekeeping had obviously been in the room because the trash cans were emptied, notwithstanding the sign on the door.
Finally, I would suggest that you avoid the snack "shop" next to the registration desk. I picked up one soda and a box of Junior Mints. There were no prices listed (that should have been a warning). When I went to pay it came to $8. Do yourself a favor and walk to the closest Walgreens.

If it wasn’t for the service and taste of drinks at the bar this would have been a 5 out of 5. Valet service was awesome. Front desk was helpful and knowledgeable about where to have a late night dinner. Breakfast staff made you feel welcome and housekeeping was so friendly. We got a drink and appetizer at the bar one night and the drinks was horrible…waiter never came back except to give us bill. I was so disappointed in this service. The ends and linen were very comfortable. Would definitely come back.

We enjoyed our stay in a large, corner room with a view of the U.S. Capitol. The bed is comfortable. Those who hope to work in the room should be aware that there isn’t desk. A small glass-top table would fit a laptop, but there isn’t a desk chair. The bathroom is large with plenty of surfaces. The shower has a low shelf on two sides that’s very helpful for shaving legs. The towels are on the thin side. Toiletries are in pump dispensers. The hotel’s lobby is in an atrium. Elevators have glass sides. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Union Station and is even closer to a DC Circulator bus stop. The hotel’s neighborhood is boring with few options for morning coffee.

The Hilton Capital Hill is a wonderful hotel, A very clean and beautiful building, enhanced by its excellent location near the US Capital and the National Mall.
What really puts the Hilton Capital Hill as a top class hotel is its staff. Everyone we interacted with was absolutely wonderful. For example, the Front Desk staff who checked us in, Alauin, did more than just check us in, he also provided very helpful tourist tips and information. Alauin made excellent restaurant recommendations and annotated on a map of the city the location of these restaurants along with several recommendations for sightseeing.
Other staff members were equally kind and definitely enhanced our Washington trip.
Our next trip as tourists in Washington we plan on staying at the Hilton Capital Hill.

We booked 4 rooms 4 months in advance with 2 double beds in each for our extended family of 16. A week before our arrival the manager Mr. Gomes changed all 4 reservations to king rooms no longer able to sleep our 16 family members because he got a larger group and dumped us. We called him repeatedly (20 times over a week) but the front desk always says he is in a meeting as to not have to assist guests. All the surrounding hotels had tripled in price over the 4 months. I am a 20 year lifetime diamond and Mr Gomes could not bother to ever call us back. He ruined our family reunion

We were very happy with our stay. First two nights were for pleasure and the last night was business. We added the breakfast to our stay when we made the reservation, and were very happy we did. The weekend buffet was paid in full and we were able to tour the sights and not worry about lunch.

This property is aging a bit but is still nice. The lobby area has a sort of cluttered effect and the restaurant is at the far end kind of out of sight from the front desk. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would return. One disappointment was a couple of spots in the ceiling of our room had paint badly chipping and actually hanging down some. It was not bad enough to ask for a room change but we did report it. The front desk gave us a credit for the sundry shop which we were not expecting so at least they tried to respond to the problem. We loved the location as we were only a block from Union Station and it was convenient to both the Metro and to depart the city via Amtrak.
