Everyone who worked at the Jefferson was so polite and helpful. Been a while since we have had really nice service. The valets took care of charging our car and our room was beautiful. No complaints.
The location was great for us for a visit with our son who lives near by. Close to restaurants and beautiful, brownstone lines streets.

We stayed at The Jefferson for several days at the end of August. The suite was beautiful decorated and very clean. We particularly appreciated the deep soaking tub and the great water pressure in the large shower. The housekeeping staff kept everything spotless. The room service was constantly delicious and timely (the chocolate covered strawberries were a true delight!).

The staff practiced social distancing and 100% mask wearing at all times; we felt very safe staying at The Jefferson, and appreciated how diligent everyone was with public health.

It's an easy walk to the nearest Metro station, and many great restaurants were in walking distance as well. The doormen at The Jefferson always had a cool bottle of water for us as we departed each day, and a friendly greeting when we returned.

The entire experience was delightful. We have only glowing and positive things to say about staying here, and feel lucky we chose The Jefferson to stay at during our vacation trip.

For the uncomfortable with risk, there is nothing more reassuring than being able to book guaranteed adjoining rooms. And like everything at the Jefferson, 'risk' is inconceivable. From the email received after booking asking our preferences for the type of bedding, towels, etc., to the email the day before clarifying our son's tree nut allergy (to make sure the welcome cookies were okay.) There is no risk at this hotel. The rooms are well-appointed. The staff is always pleasant, smiling, and professional. The breakfast options have something for everyone.
The concierge got us a reservation at a 'sold out' restaurant. There is nothing left to chance.

The hotel location feels just outside the tourist areas but is a pleasant stroll through the city if time is not an issue. Our rooms, 712 & 713, adjoin through a shared private alcove. Both rooms had lovely large closets but little drawer space, which was fine for us. They both faced 16th St. Although a main thoroughfare, it was quiet at night.

This hotel continues to be my first choice when staying in DC.

There's a reason why this hotel was listed as one of T&L's 2021 World's Best Hotels: The Jefferson staff are true professionals. Hospitable and welcoming, superb service, and excellent restaurant recommendations from Eric, the concierge, we were very sad to leave. Some of our most memorable meals in DC were at the Quill, friendly staff, and the food was great. Megan and Katie steered us right in recommending our favorite cocktail "The Hill Bee," and Stacie at the front desk is exemplary in hospitality professionalism. It was a treat to come back from a long day of museums, to an immaculate room with special touches like a piccolo bottle of champagne for the birthday, or to a superb in-room meal with all the accoutrements. We look forward to returning soon!

This luxury boutique hotel is the epitome of "luxury boutique" and remains a hidden gem in Washington D.C.
The staff upon arrival are always welcoming and set the tone for the stay to come. Arrival is seamless and special requests present little problem.
The rooms are elegantly appointed and when you step inside you get the immediate feeling of comfort and luxury. The rooms as well as most of the hotel walls post various colonial and Jefferson-themed motifs and artifacts.
One of the best features in the rooms of this hotel is the water pressure in the showers which are unbeatable after a day of sightseeing in DC or a after a night out in one of the great restaurants in the city.
The bar here is also one of the coziest you will find anywhere and something we look forward to on every visit. There is also a private Library where hotel guests can enjoy a cocktail or two.
We have been coming to this property for over a decade and have enjoyed with kids, on business trips as well as just couples weekend and it is suitable for all of these occasions.
I recommend highly and would put this on my Top 10 hotels of the world list.

Even prior to arrival all of your requests are confirmed by telephone by one of the most efficient and courteous staff members. Nothing is too much trouble.

Once you step out of your car you are greeted warmly by the doormen and front desk. The hotel lobby is exquisite, check in is effortless, luggage is brought up to your room without delay and with a smile.

Our room is gorgeous, well appointed and immaculate. Take notice of the bookmark in the desk drawer of your room that informs of the generous donation to the DC Library that mail high quality books, free of charge, to enrolled DC children each month from birth until the age of five for every reservation when you stay at The Jefferson Hotel.

We usually don't choose to eat breakfast but couldn't resist the beautiful breakfast room. The service was flawless and attentive without hovering. Food cooked to perfection and plated beautifully.

If you feel like just enjoying this beautiful hotel one can lose themselves for a day in their book room!

I can go on and on but with finish by thanking everyone at the Jefferson Hotel for a truly amazing stay. We hope to return soon for another fabulous weekend.

We have been coming to DC on a regular basis for 17 years, since our sons started going to school there. We have stayed in every 4-5 star hotel in the district but now come back to the Jefferson every time. The lobby, restaurants and rooms are all elegant and immaculate. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms wonderful.
Our favorite spot is the Quill bar though. We begin each evening there. It’s dark wood, low ceilings and comfy seating is unmatched. We don’t even consider staying anywhere else.

Stayed for a long weekend and service was excellent throughout - we arrived early, luggage stored and room available before usual check-in time which they notified us about by text.

Room was quite compact but to a high standard, most importantly the room was quiet and no disruption at night.

Hotel is around 15 minute walk from the White House and around 30 minutes to most other sites within the city itself.

We had lunch and breakfast in the restaurant which were both good, and the cocktails in the bar excellent, in fact better than a cocktail bar we went to elsewhere.

Would certainly stay again next time we are in the city.

My stay last week at the Jefferson Hotel was truly lovely. The staff were attentive. The room was quite comfortable and luxurious, with all these little extras: soft jazz music tasty cookies and nuts and bottled water to greet me, plenty of fluffy towels. I always ask for a kettle so I can make my tea, and it was delivered immediately, and to my delight was a superior kind. I ordered breakfast in my room, and it came promptly and was excellent--the eggs were accompanied with these little crunchy potato strings, the bacon was extra crispy, and the toast was not limp.
The rain was pouring down when I checked out, and the staff insisted I take one of their large umbrellas, even though I explained I would not be back.
The entire experience was very special. I was in DC for a stressful work trip in bad weather, yet my stay was an oasis of calm and comfort. I will be back.

I am sucker for boutique hotels and The Jefferson did not disappoint. What can I say this hotel exudes classic Washingtonian elegance in every corner. Situated perfectly on 16th Street my stay was flawless from start to finish.

Upon my arrival I was greeted by friendly staff who brought me swiftly to check in, and without so much as a "by your leave" whisked my bags away to my room. The receptionist was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Check in was quick and effortless. All the staff were kind, professional, and did a great job throughout my stay.

My first impression of the property was very positive. This hotel has a classic American charm. The building has been lovingly restored and while I would not say it has the grandeur of a European Grand Hotel (i.e. Four Seasons in Florence). It is a perfect example of American Classic elegance, that is to say understated luxury with wonderful and thoughtful touches in every corner. The original moldings and brass have been perfectly maintained and the hotel is immaculately clean. The decor was clearly brilliantly thought out, as I found each piece of furniture to fit organically in its space. No random odd piece thrown around to force some sort if incoherent blend of oversized garish modern with classic. Not a corporate standard looking chain designed couch or chair could be seen. Instead one had the feel that you were talking a step back in time to when hotels had their own character and not an assembly line feel.

I had a corner suite on the 2nd floor. The suite was a natural extension of the rest of the property. Sadly some even 5* hotels can fail to show the same attention to detail in the guest rooms as they do the public spaces. Not at the Jefferson. My suite had a lovely entrance foyer with a sitting room and small outdoor sitting area to the left and large bed room and bath to the right. The room had a lovely decor muted soft tones and lovely accents through out (there was bird theme to the suite, but it never even came close to kitschy). The attention to detail ran to even the books in the room, which after perusing one and finding so enjoyable I had to buy my own copy. The rooms while classic in layout, did have lovely modern accents that did not clash with the classic feel but elevated it to a contemporary fusion of style that kept one from feeling like one was in a time capsule. The rooms felt both fresh and timeless at the same time. Well done!

I had drinks in the Quill bar made a perfect martini. And breakfast was outstanding, I had missed American Bacon and they happily obliged in ample portions.

I could keep writing but suffice to say, I could not have been more pleased with my stay. This is Washingtonian charm at its best. If you want to get a sense of what classic American elegance is, this is your hotel.
