If you can afford it, I love this hotel. I travel a lot, and this one threads the needle for me, in terms of old school charm, updated amenities, staff that's helpful but not in your face or over the top. The rooms are completely comfortable in an individual way, rather than newly luxurious or awkwardly quaint. They're just nicely...

Totally charming classic hotel in a brilliant location. The Hay Adams is friendly, accessible with spacious rooms. Service & Food were great. Look forward to returning! Rooms on H Street face the White House. Beds were well proportioned and bedroom had plenty of wardrobe space which seems to be non existent in modern hotels. Had a problem with sink plug...

The Hay Adams is one of those truly wonderful hotels. It easily ranks in my top 5 worldwide. The hotel staff treat everyone as if they are the most important people in Washington. When I phoned the concierge about two weeks before our arrival (to arrange a car from the airport) I was remembered from a previous visit two years...

Both my husband and I are heavy travelers and know the hotel experience. When we're traveling personally we love to stay at design driven small, boutique-y places. But being DC we also wanted historic. This hotel is an absolute homerun on all fronts. The service was absolutely some of the best we've ever had. Top to bottom. From the valet...

The Hay-Adams Hotel is truly exceptional. The staff provides the highest level of service and yet makes you feel welcome. The view facing the White House is awe inspiring. The close proximity to Washington's greatest treasures including the monuments, memorials and museums makes the Hay-Adams perfect for seeing the sights. The dining experience was 5 star all the way around....

Arrival seamless. Upgraded to a room facing the White House! Had several breakfasts and dinners there; the food and preparation were some of the best I have ever had. Breakfast servers were average but dinner waiters were outstanding.

Living fairly close to D.C. In northern Va my wife and I always drove to visit friends for dinner. This weekend we decided to stay at the Hay Adams and boy am I glad we did! The check in took literally 2 minutes, if that. When we got to the suite the view of the White House was stunning. Dinner...

Amazing service, amazing location, amazing view! Do not stay there without getting a room with the view of the White House, Washington Monument, Jefferson Monument and the OEOB. Rooms labeled "Lafayette Park View" or "White House View" will take care of that. This is the place to stay in DC if you prefer boutique hotels.

The Hay Adams is a very high quality hotel with lots of history. Service is good. The restaurant is old fashioned quality. It is located well in D.C.. Highly recommended that you visit this old and venerable hotel.
