We had a mixed stay here. The best part was the staff, who were friendly and very helpful. We were touring colleges and it is located perfectly for that, right between Georgetown and GWU (you can walk to both). The kitchen was helpful to have but we did not use it much. The pullout couch bed was so uncomfortable our...

Dear Lulu118. Thank you for taking the time to comment about your recent visit to the River Inn. It is music to my ears that the best part of your visit was our friendly and helpful staff, but I am disappointed that the room was not up to your expectations. We do have plans to upgrade our rooms in the...

Average or slightly below average hotel. Bathroom had leaky faucets, and the shower just dripped out water. Their restaurant was terribly over priced. Eat out, you'll get better food at a better price. The staff was nice and helpful in getting around the area. The hotel's location was quite convenient and it was easy to get to the capitol buildings...

Dear Ispiegel2017. Although your comments are difficult to read, we appreciate the feedback very much. Leaky faucets are very annoying, especially when you are trying to sleep! I hope that an engineer was sent up immediately after you reported the drips, but if not, please know that we are always happy to move our guests to another room if they...

Located in the capitol of the United States at a time the US President is a hotelier himself, this hotel makes Americans embarrassed. The staff is kind, chatty, but not very competent. They seem to be young or mid-aged and just not propeerly trained, The rooms have cockroaches in them and are inadequately cleaned. The furnishings are old and dark...

Hi cfjd. I am really sorry that all this happened to you during your stay with us. What you experienced is certainly not indicative of our standards and we regret that you did not have an excellent time. I am grateful that you shared your feedback with us during the middle of your visit so that we had the opportunity...

Nice hotel within walking distance to Metro and several restaurants and also Whole Foods. Room had a small kitchen which was nice. They prvovided fresh Coffee beans and a grinder. The restaurant was very good and frequented by locals and theatre goers. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Hi Leigh N! Thank you for your positive review and thank you for letting other travelers know about The River Inn. Our location is the best of both worlds in a quiet neighborhood with just a few minutes to downtown on the metro. One of the lovely things about the River Inn is that it is in a Residential Neighborhood yet within walking distance of the Metro and George Washington University and The Kennedy Center. Unfortunately this creates the problem we encountered. The hotel is on a two lane two way street. You cannot double park without blocking the street and there is...

Hi Kim S. Thank you for your review and feedback. It is not usual that we do not have a doorman to assist with directions and check in and I apologize that during your arrival, he was not there. Our lobby is also usually tranquil and quiet with many happy faces available to greet our guests. I am so sorry...

Located on a quiet side street, it really is a diamond. Nice spacious room, excellent friendly staff, very pleased. Will defiantly stay here next time I'm in DC. Clean, spacious and reasonable. What more can you ask for.

Thank you Timothy M! We really are located in the best spot in DC right between Georgetown and GW University. Close to everything but in a quiet picturesque neighborhood so that our guests experience the best of both worlds. Thank you for the positive review and we look forward to welcoming you back.

My stay at the River Inn was quite pleasant. The service was very professional. My room was spacious, well-decorated, and clean; it even had a large kitchenette. Also, the bed was very comfortable. My only complaint is that the hair-dryer did not work well.

Welcome to East Germany where the State (Management) determines whether you get heat or AC. Although the wall controller has settings for both, you can't get either one to work until the hotel sets it for that function. We found out when we couldn't get heat on one night and were told in the AM "you'll be pleased to know...

Dear mariahbay. I am so sorry for your experience with the heat and HVAC. In just a week we had huge fluctuations in temperature between 40-80 degrees which makes it difficult for our system to catch up. Perfectly fine. Accommodating staff, willing to bring missing and needed items up to our room, give good directions, friendly. Location is neighborhood-y. Steps away from Metro, restaurants, Whole Foods at GWU. Very comfy room (queen suite). Little kitchen is an extra bonus. We did find one tiny spider in our bed, but overall very clean.

Great hotel, nice clean rooms and bathrooms. There was also a nice dog park near the hotel which was a plus for our little guy. Only wish the cooktop buttons were better, as they do take a while to turn on/off Convenient location.
