What a great hotel! Beautiful room, comfortable bed, friendly staff, afternoon wine and cheese, reasonable pricing….what more could you ask for!! I’ll tell you- location! The location was perfect. A short walk to wonderful restaurants in Adams Morgan and of course to our daughter. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely stellar service. The front desk staff are cordial and they overdeliver in an unparalleled and remarkable manner. I called down and asked for places that served drag brunch or similar Pride events in the area, and 45 minutes later they called back to the room and said they had done some research and compiled a list of some places that my partner and I might be interested in going. The rooms are very nice, and they make good use of the space provided. With candor, I recommend doing some insight into breakfast/brunch areas nearby prior to purchasing the continental breakfast. That being said, the danishes they have are quite big, plus the deli plate was an unexpected surprise. And having a quiet breakfast in a well-lit, air-conditioned room lent itself an air of style and comfort that is uncommon in most other hotels I’ve been in. During the evening, I highly recommend checking out their complimentary wine and cheese hour. It’s a great way to connect with the other guests in the hotel and unwind from a long day. With the Normandy Hotel just recently being opened up, the staff members have worked hard as a team to create a immaculate experience that fills one with bliss.

We picked the Normandy because we were visiting family in the immediate (and beautiful!) neighborhood. The Normandy seemed like the perfect combination of modest price and comfortable surroundings, and that turned out to be exactly true. The building is an older, six story building, with lots of charm and some quirks. Our king size room, on the top floor, Was medium small, though with an extremely comfortable bed, and an old-school bathroom with tiles and good water pressure and nice smelling pump soaps on the wall. The room was well lit, and had a Keurig coffee machine and a good mini fridge. One of the quirks of the building, though, was that the only window was fairly small, and oddly located in a corner. Breakfast in the breakfast room was included in our rate, but was surprisingly expensive for those who bought it separately. It’s a very basic continental breakfast, which seems appropriate to this kind of hotel, but would disappoint somebody counting on an egg and bacon feast. Everything was throughout the hotel was clean and welcoming, and we felt completely at home through our entire stay. That was also, largely, because of the staff. Every single person we dealt with was lovely. And when we complimented the hotel to them, they all without exception talked about how much they loved working here. You can feel that in the entire operation: it has a happy family feel that makes it the opposite of Hampton Inn (which is probably about the right level comparison in the corporate chain-hotel world) . You got the sense staff are happy to be here, and that they are happy you are here.

My husband and I, senior citizens, spent two nights here while we were visiting museums and sights in Washington. The hotel is located in an attractive, mostly residential neighborhood well served by Uber and Lyft, but there are no restaurants, cafes, or bars within comfortable walking distance if you are mobility impaired or the weather is bad. Dupont Circle is a half mile away. Parking is very limited. When we arrived one hour after check-in time on a week day, the desk clerk told us that we would have to park on the street, moving the car every two hours, or try valet parking at the Hilton down the street. Fortunately, another staff person (manager?), hearing our cries of dismay, kindly moved her car to make room for ours. We felt bad when we heard the next guests receiving the bad parking news.
The room was nicely furnished, the bathroom was excellent (except for the small thin towels), and the A/C worked well. The internet was unsecured and slow. The staff was friendly enough, and somewhat responsive to requests, but made no effort to provide any service that was not specifically requested. Housekeeping is on demand only, but we were told this only when we reported at check-out that our bed had not been made, trash not emptied, cups not washed, etc. after our first night. When we retrieved our car upon departure, the parking valet brought the car quickly. However, after pocketing a decent tip, he returned to the lobby without a backward glance at two old people struggling to load luggage.
The Normandy was listed as a three star hotel (quality comfort, according to google, better than two star "just the basics") amenities we consider basic were not provided. We were disappointed and will not stay there again.

Really enjoyed my time staying here and wish I could have stayed longer!

Staff was super friendly and attentive (even called my room after I checked in to make sure everything was good with my room, etc).

Location is in a pretty residential area near Dupont Circle and The Embassies with plenty of shops and restaurants within walking distance. Overnight parking is available on the premise for $40 if needed.

Room was nice if a little small. But the bed was massive (think it was a king) and the bathroom seemed to be recently renovated and very clean.

Breakfast not currently offered but will be returning soon I am told. For the price I thought it was well worth it.

My wife and i stayed at the Normandy in early June, 2023 for 3 nights. I am not sure why at some travel sites this hotel gets a relatively lower rating than the bigger places. The room was not huge but certainly sufficient with a king bed, desk and chair TV. It was for our taste very attractive, very clean. You can opt in or out of housekeeping and we opted in. So after taking care of our business we cam e back to a nice, welcoming room. At 5 pm there is free happy hour with wine and cheese and that was very pleasant. The hotel personnel was helpful, and both courteous and friendly. Initially the person who checked us in gave us the wrong key and we had to get some help from the front desk. For this very minor error—not really much of a problem since I had not even taken our luggage off of the luggage cart—the hotel gave us a free breakfast. the young man who came upt to help get us into the correct room also brought us some wine and cheese to help us settle into our room. You would think this had been an ordeal… which it certainly was not. Location was excellent; about a 10 minute walk to Dupont Circle metro, which gets you all around the city. But if you enjoy walking it is around 2 miles (or perhaps a little less) to walk to the Washington monument and the mall. There is also valet parking attached to the hotel and we had no problem getting space in the garage. I don’t think the hotel is supposed to reserve parking but they noted with my reservation that I wanted it. It is not cheap, but that is the case with parking garages all over Washington. Considering the relative low cost of the hotel I was expecting much worse, and perhaps because the experience was totally different I am surprised, enthusiastic, and will return. My wife is a little more critical: she points out that we did not see an ice machine on our floor (though we have to admit we did not look hard and did not call the front desk), and we do not care much for Direct TV, which is what was on an otherwise nice TV. But both of us agree that when we return to DC we will first consider The Normandy Hotel.

Our experience at this hotel was chef’s kiss. From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left, excellent! Theresa was by far one of the nicest, friendliest and helpful hosts, and it really was a pleasure meeting her. I didn’t take any pictures of our room or the hotel, but I can say that our room was immaculate and the beds were comfortable. It is an older building, with only 75(?) rooms, but has been renovated in a tasteful manner. Our room AC was a little wonky, so our room never got cold, but it was still comfortable. Our room had a mini fridge and keurig coffee machine. They offer a wine and cheese hour (free) from 5-6 PM, and continental breakfast for a fee. Excellent location in a quiet neighborhood, but walking distance to many shops and restaurants. There is even a Metro station nearby. A short Uber ride to the Mall/Capitol. Would recommend staying here to anyone.

I had a wonderful time at the Normandy Hotel. I love the location-in between Embassy Row, DuPont Circle, and Adams Morgan. The hustle and bustle of Connecticut Ave is on the corner. The Normandy is away from the traffic and horn honking. The interior is a combination of modern and classic. The room was perfect for me as I was traveling solo. I love the roomy king sized bed.
The staff from front desk to the cleaning crew were incredibly friendly and kind. They always had a smile on their face and when in the elevator always said good morning and asked about my day. The metro is less than ten minutes away. And newcomers to DC-the Metro is easy to navigate. If you decide to drive in-the parking price at the Normandy is incredibly affordable and is better than attempting to drive through crazy DC traffic. Parking on DC streets can be complicated as it’s mostly permit parking and hard to decipher what time to park at turn zone.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the Normandy. Its incredibly affordable and it’s located at great DC location.

Clean, comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Friendly, helpful staff. The bathrooms are outstanding. The location could not be better.

Only downsides- the breakfast is expensive for what it is ($5 will get you a stellar hot breakfast and coffee at one of the excellent, nearby restaurants)

Also, this hotel may be difficult to conduct business at, as the wifi was essentially non-functional when I was there.

Stayed for four nights at a reasonable cost. Hotel is about a $15 Uber ride from Reagan International. Subway is about a 10 minute walk south on Dupont Circle where you can get anywhere in the city with ease. Many restaurants in the immediate area as well as a Walgreens just down the street.

The Hotel itself was quaint and comfortable. Check-in was very personable. The room was clean with nice linens. The bathroom appeared to be a recent renovation with a large walk-in shower. Room also has a nice mini fridge and Keurig coffee maker.

The only downside was the air-conditioning, which is not controlled in the individual rooms. I would have preferred it cooler, but I do travel with my own portable fan, so that made it tolerable.

They do offer breakfast for a separate charge. I did not partake, so I can't comment on that.

I would recommend this hotel and would consider it again if ever in the area.
