During my 3-night visit in September 2021, central Washington DC was still more or less empty. The area was very quiet during the day and in the evening. No vehicle traffic at all.

Check-in was quick and efficient. My interaction with the staff was pleasant and professional. The restaurant was not open. I didn't look into using the amenities aside from the Starbucks in the lobby.

The room was clean and well-furnished. The furniture had some nicks and dents, but nothing too noticeable. During this trip, I've been lucky to be able to walk around bare feet in the room without feeling icky. The carpet was clean enough.

A main subway station is immediately next to the hotel, which made getting around very convenient. Even still, the location is in the middle of everything whether you're in town for business or pleasure.

I usually stay at lower tier hotels (as anyone can see in my previous reviews), but this was a worthy splurge.

Stayed for 4 nights the week between Christmas and New Year's with the kids. The moment we pulled up to the valet, the staff politely helped my wife and kids with their belongings. The lady at check-in was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. My kids enjoyed the pool for a couple of hours. The Starbucks in the lobby was convenient for a drink or snack on the way in or out for the day. The valet parking was pricey at $60/day but it was convenient nonetheless as we walked or took public transportation the whole time. The metro station was on the corner and it was about a four block walk to the National Mall. Also close to Ford's theater. We enjoyed our stay.

We stayed this weekend for a post holiday weekend getaway. Not knowing Washington I tried to pick a hotel that was in a good location to the sights in D.C. I found out that by accident I made an amazing choice!!!! We got there earlier then checkin and were so pleased to find we were able to park the car (expensive but hey you are in a city) and get into our room early. The hotel room was very comfortable and so quiet at night that we had some of the best nights sleeps in a hotel. We did not eat at the hotel so can't comment on that, but did hang at the bar for happy hour and had a great time. Our waiter, I think his name was Bill, was outstanding - very personable and so helpful in our choices for apps (we are whole food vegans and sometimes this can be a problem). He had the kitchen do some tweaking on foods - at his suggestion. Another standout was JoeJoe (not sure of the spelling). He was the evening bellman and was just a pleasure to talk to. We would definitely return to this hotel in the future.

This was a highly anticipated "sisters weekend" trip, so the overall experience was great. That said, here are some of the low points. After you pay the exorbitant room rate, you find that it costs $54/night to park at the motel. This is more than I pay for an actual motel room when I'm traveling and just need a few hours' sleep. A staff member took pity on my sister and clued her in to the fact that there was a parking garage a few blocks away which only charged $22/night. There was a refrigerator in the room for our wine and leftovers, but NO microwave! Also, no breakfast of any kind, unless you went down to Starbucks and paid more for their limited food. In-room coffee was provided, but no CREAM! There are no showers in the vicinity of the very nice pool, even though there was a sign that cautioned that guests should shower before using the pool. No little bottles of shampoo, conditioner in the bathroom, but there were wall-mounted bottles in the shower.
But no little soaps and no lotion at all.

I have stayed at Super 8s and similar motels for $80/night, which had free parking, free breakfast, a selection of miniature toiletries, and a fridge and microwave in every room. In closing, let me say that the staff were very courteous and helpful, and the location could not have been better. I realize DC is a very expensive place to visit, but come on, can't Marriott provide the little amenities we take for granted in much less expensive motels?

The Washington Marriott at Metro Center is a perfect location for catching the Metro. We road the Metro from the airport which was extremely easy. The hotel is a few steps away.
We arrived early and was able to check in. The room with two beds which we booked wasn't available. We were offered a King bed room for three adults. Not idea for us. So, upon further research, we were offered an accessible room. The bathroom was extra large and the room seemed to have extra room.
The beds are very comfortable. One issue we had was there wasn't any way of purchasing water. The front dest gave each of us small bottles of water but quickly ran out. We ended up buying cold waters off of a street vender to supply our room. Do to the pandemic, we had to pick up bath towels at the front desk everyday. We didn't have a problem with this because we prefer to not have someone in our room. We empty our trash from the room in the ice machine room which had a large garbage can available.
The location is the best part of this hotel. There is a lot of walking when visiting Washington, D.C. We road the Metro as much as possible. Mask were optional. Lots of people without mask in the lobby and on the elevators. We ask the front desk about the mask wearing policy and was told Marriott Corp. had made mask wearing optional.

The Washington Marriott at Metro Center has always been in my top 2 hotel when in DC. It is right next to the Metro and has a Starbuck and restaurant on site. The renovations they have done are wonderful and no more carpet! I hope this is a trend for all other brands under the Marriott name. The king room I stayed in was on the 12th Floor and the décor was lovely and as mentioned previously, the lack of carpet made it seem 10x cleaner. Each staff member encountered, was very pleasant and went above and beyond to may every guest feel welcomed. The concierge lounge although in a temporary location, was very nice and provided several options to choose from during breakfast and evening. The evening attendant is a joy. She has been there a long time, is friendly and willing to try and accommodate guest requests. It will be nice to see what the permanent location looks like. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We stayed at the Marriott Metro Center hotel for six nights the week of Thanksgiving and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very nice, the Bellmen were Very friendly and made us feel so welcome to the Hotel. The housekeeping was very good! I even accidentally left my jewelry on the counter and housekeeping left it right where I had put it. We enjoyed the bar in the evening and having a Starbucks in the lobby was wonderful for quick bites in the morning before heading off to the Museum’s. The Metro subway entrance was in the same block as the hotel which was sooo incredibly convenient for getting around town!! We will definitely return to this hotel and would highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in all the attractions in DC near the Mall.

Took a family vacation to Washington DC to see the monuments and museums. This hotel was super easy to access on the Metro - saving us expensive cab fare from the airport. We could walk to The National Mall in about 10 minutes, but also being right on the Metro, it was incredibly easy to navigate by train as well. The staff we interacted with was incredibly friendly, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable despite covid challenges. Starbucks inside the hotel lobby was also a nice bonus! We would definitely return!

We recently stayed at the Marriott Metro Center overnight after a party in DC. We took the metro into the city and the Marriott's location made this stay really convenient.

We live in Maryland and visit DC frequently for museums, restaurants and shows, but our home is a bit too far to just drive in and come back, so we are always on the lookout for a nice place to stay.

The hotel was clean, nicely appointed and the staff was friendly and very helpful. You are steps away from the Metro Center metro stop, so if you want to explore other parts of the city, it couldn't be easier.

You need a key card to go up from the lobby. Do not know about the garage, I took Amtrak. There is an open lounge on the ground floor.
