This is a charming house nestled in a great DC neighborhood. It is surrounded by restaurants, just a quick walk to the train and a number of interesting attractions. Breakfasts were delicious and the innkeeper an excellent hostess.

My friend and I spent five fantastic nights in the Zora Neale Hurston room. If we hadn't had a conference to attend and a beautiful, historic city to explore, we would have been content to stay in and around the hotel. The accommodations were luxurious, comfortable, and quiet. The room was huge and beautifully appointed. I've stayed in some great...

I came to DC for a conference and stayed at the Awkwaaba at the recommendation of a friend. I admit, at first, I was hesitant. This place was a bit of a walk from the convention center, and I usually like to be very close by, but this place was well worth the walk! Here are the reasons why I...

My sister and I spent 4 fabulous days here in November. Visiting DC to celebrate my birthday and visit the National Museum of African American History & Culture. This lovely bed and breakfast is centrally located, just two blocks from bus that runs frequently and terminates right by the Mall or a twenty minute walk from the Metro. Our accommodations...

I was hesitant about booking a B&B for my mother, a friend, and myself. But after our experience at Akwaaba, If every B&B was like Akwaaba, I'd only stay in B&B's! All three in our party loved our stay. We felt welcome and more comfortable than we would have in a hotel. Akwaaba's awesome innkeeper Nani, went out of her...

Great location, beautiful property. Our innkeeper, Nani, prepared amazing breakfasts and snacks for us. She was very thoughtful in making things that we liked and that also met my vegetarian needs. There are a lot of wonderful restaurants nearby as well as quick access to a bus line and the metro. We felt spoiled at the Akwaaba, especially with the...

Our stay at Akwaaba bed & breakfast was great, a very pleasurable experience. The room was large and comfortable and so was our king size bed and the bathroom. The use of the well appointed parlor room and the formal dining room with wi-fi throuout the house was very convenient, since one of us had to deal with work emergency...

Did a weekend trip to DC and stayed at Akwaaba for two nights. This bed and breakfast is located in the well situated Dupont Circle, close to all DC has to offer. Very homey accommodations and the breakfast, snacks, and drinks available throughout the day were delicious. Will absolutely be staying here again the next time I am in DC

Akwaaba in general never disappoints. The rooms are cozy and attractive, the innkeeper (this is my third time in DC) is always very personable and accommodating. The location is perfect for a tour of the attractions of DC and great eateries. I only have one request...firmer pillows in the Romance Room.... overall a great stay...and I've met some really interesting...
