This place is very convenient for people coming to settle their children to the GWU .Very near to GWU,metro station, seven eleven is also very near. Some issues faced are:
The Luggage shifting trolley was either frail or very heavy, lift got over load due to very have trolley, moving the heavier trolley was not smooth, the lighter trolley was fragile it s handle came out while moving.
Valet for loading /unloading the luggage is required
American Breakfast should have at least omlette every day.
There was no hot milk available , it has to be requested.
Also the room air conditioner thermostat was not working if set on 23 degree centigrade, it used to blow hot air?
The kitchenette in the room was loaded amply ,all sort of utensils were available.

We stayed for a full week. Fantastic location: near the Metro stop, but hotel itself is on a small tree lined neighborhood street that felt safe and quaint.

All of the staff members are very polite and considerate. Great AC throughout the hotel during an especially hot DC stay. The flavored iced water bar was consumed every afternoon. Housekeeping is immaculate and consistent.

The morning breakfast is great, though the coffee is very weak. I appreciated the coffee syrups to help the lack of flavor. Highly recommend this hotel for families with teens because of the room size, two tvs and kitchen with full size fridge. We also appreciated that the locking bathroom door was not the popular sliding barn door style used in so many hotels.

Dear FamilyFunAtlanta, We are thrilled to hear that you had a great week’s stay! Being located in close proximity to the Metro stop is a plus and the safe and quiet residential area is one of the best features our guests really enjoy. Individually, our staff are already happy, polite, and hardworking folks and collectively, their gentle and positive energy just fills up the room with good vibes. Our morning breakfast is one of the best complimentary breakfast buffets according to most of our guests, and we are excited to know that you loved it too! Once again, thank you for the amazing feedback and we hope to see you and your family soon in the near future, perhaps during the Cherry Blossoms Festival!

We stayed her for 3 nights at Memorial Day weekend with two of our kids, one college age and one late teen. I chose this property because of the location and room type, which offered a two-bed room for a regular free night level of points. It worked out great! We paid for parking on Friday night in the small hotel lot, and then Saturday morning saw a spot open on the street. We moved the car there and left it parked the rest of the weekend. The metro stop is a very short walk away, right by a Whole Foods. There are many restaurants in walking distance. We even took a long walk back one day from the National Mall, past Vietnam and WWII memorials, all the way to the hotel. The room was clean and the configuration was perfect for us. The breakfast was sparse, they said because they were missing a delivery. That was the only aspect not up to usual Marriott standards. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.

I am a platinum elite member who generally likes to use the Residence Inn brand. This one was was definitely not up to Marriot standards. We arrived late in the evening and were looking forward to showers and a good night’s sleep. Upon checking the bed, I found a hair. The water pressure was very light and the water warm at best. One of the towels was dirty. I immediately used the chat function for a complete change of sheets, towels, cleaning of the room and for the pressure to be fixed. My husband and I slept very poorly that night. In the morning, I tried to confirm that the sheets and towels would be changed and the pressure fixed with Eric at the front desk. I also tried to clarify some dietary information about some of the breakfast items after Atsed , the breakfast attendant, could not give my husband and son the information that they requested. He was rude , and spoke to me in a derogatory fashion. He actually accused me of not trying to ask the breakfast attendant. After cleaning, there was a foreign hair on the shower wall and water pressure was fixed only slightly. This place is NOT up to Marriott standards. Eric needs to be trained on how to treat a guest and shown that guests, especially Platinum levels ones, are to be valued , NOT INSULTED.

Rest assured that this was an isolated case and is not the representation of our business as a whole. Thank you for mentioning that you immediately reported the issues using the chat function, which I could confirm was addressed by team members right away. I making complaint due to dishonesty of the hotel staff. I stayed four days. I left an expensive bottle perfume in the drawer. After arriving home, I notice that I did not pack it. I called the hotel staff and ask them about it and housekeeping supervisor stated that they do not have it. Which made me realize that they were being dishonest. I have a witness that cooperated that she saw we left it in the drawer. Unfortunately, it was not there when the staff member looked. I feel it was wrong and that they should compensate me for lost item. I will not refer this hotel to any friends or colleagues nor will I return. I have contacted corporate office and made a formal complaint. By the way this is not the first time this happens, but this is the last time. I decided to write about it and I will write about it on every platform with reviews…very disappointed guest sincerely, a Loss cause.

My wife & I, along with my sister, my brother-in-law, and their daughter all stayed at this Residence Inn back on March 23rd to March 30th, 2024. This was our group’s first time in Washington, D.C. and staying at this hotel was great!

Its location is quite ideal since it’s only a block away from the Metro subway station. Taking the subway was the quickest and most convenient method to get to the National Mall area (where all the museums and monuments are located)

The room itself was very spacious and comfortable for our entire group. We definitely appreciated the fact that we had a full refrigerator, stovetop, and microwave in the room.

The breakfast buffet every morning was a delight and very enjoyable overall. It was great that we didn’t have to head outside in the morning to look for a breakfast place to eat at.

Overall, we would definitely stay here again when visiting DC (or recommend others to stay here, too).

Dear j3dimast3r, We are appreciating the fact that you and your family enjoyed your stay with us. I agree with you wholeheartedly that taking the metro is the best way to go around the D.C. area and the fact that our hotel is just a 3-minute walk to the Metro stop just makes everything easier for our guests. Our one-bedroom suites are spacious and comfortable, and we have a lot of great comments about our complimentary breakfast buffet. It is a big hit for all ages! So, whenever your travels bring you back to this area, please think of us. We would love to host your stay again. May the force be with you!

We had an excellent stay at this well located hotel just two blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro stop. We arrived at 10am and were able to get into our room which was great. At the end of our stay they stored our bags for the whole day while we toured the town.

The staff at the front desk and those running the breakfast buffet were all very friendly and super helpful. Great job!

The room itself was typical of a RI which was very nice.

The breakfast buffet was a step up from the usual RI breakfasts with a bit more selection and real plates and silverware.

Given the great location it was a surprise that this was one of the cheaper Marriott properties in DC.

Location was convenient - well within a five minute walk to Foggy Bottom metro, a Whole Foods as well as a 7-11.

The room was generally clean and the kitchen was well equipped with the necessary kitchenware that one would need. It was also spacious given that there was a separate bedroom, but the toilet did feel slightly small.

Service from the staff at check in as well as at breakfast was great. We were always greeted warmly. The free breakfast was good but after a couple of days we wished there could be a little bit more variety.

The hotel could do with a bit of updating (I think there are plans to do so) but overall it was a pleasant stay

I recently booked a trip through Priceline that included flights and a stay at the Residence Inn Foggy Bottom in DC. The stay was from September 6 - September 11.

I checked in on September 6th, I notified staff I had a rental car, and was given the parking pass for the night of September 6-Sept 7th. The next day the night of September 8th), I stayed at a different Marriott property, the Residence Inn Columbia in MD, which was booked with Marriott points, so I did not need parking.

I returned to the Residence Inn Foggy Bottom on September 8th and parked for one additional night, returning the rental on September 9th. In total, I only parked at the hotel for 2 days. I got home from my trip and today I was charged $362 for what I was told, was for parking. I called the hotel and was told the property manager Le’chelle Lei would not assist or refund me the additional days because I had not returned the parking passes to the front desk. When I got the parking passes the staff never mentioned they needed to be returned and when I called I was told they are just now enforcing this. I have started at this property before and I was never asked to return the parking slip. Basically, the management does not care about customer service and likes to steal your money for parking you did not use. Stay at your own risk.

I notified staff of the days I needed parking, please see attached parking receipts and attached rental receipts showing I didn’t have the rental past sept 9.

Dear Sweedie415, Thank you for taking the time in sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are not aware of our parking policy. The permit signed by guests, who agree to park at the hotel, states the following: "Any changes to the number of nights parking at the hotel, please return your Parking Pass to the Front Desk to ensure you are no longer charged for parking, if not, it is assumed that you will park each night of your stay." This is not something new, this policy has always been specified at the permits given to guests, signed by guests. If the guest no longer wants the spot, they have to surrender it to the front desk so the charges can be turned off and the spot can be sold to another customer as we have limited onsite parking. There are times when guests change their minds and wanted to continuously use the space after informing the staff that they no longer need the spot, and since they have not turned over the permit, they still have the space originally set aside for them. We understand your frustration and you have the right to feel that way. However, please do understand that this information is not concealed to our guests as the condition is clearly and boldly stated on the permit for guests to read and sign off on. Thank you, once again, for sharing your feedback and may you have a great day!

Stayed here for a week. Our room (suite with kitchen) was very clean and spacious. The morning breakfast provided daily was excellent, and the location of the Inn was in a nice location, safe location and near the metro and many tourism sites. the strongest point of the accommodation was the high quality of the staff. Everyone, including those at the front desk and those helping in the eating area, were exceptionally polite, courteous, friendly, and responsive. Definitely, the place to stay when visiting DC.
