We stayed at this hotel in late Jan. 2024 for a staycation and had a great experience overall.
Customer service: As a parent, how a hotel treats little guests says a lot about their overall approach to customer service. And, my daughter really loved the hotel. Special shout-out to some of the staff, such as Zellie (sp?) at check-in, who was very sweet with our five-year old. She brought out the cart of purple bears to choose from, as well as crayons and coloring books for her. She was also given a Ritz kids backpack and lion plush toy. There was a scavenger hunt for kids and prize to redeem ice cream at the restaurant. We were given popcorn while we waited to claim our ice cream!
Rooms: rooms were spacious, clean, and well-appointed. bathrooms were of a good size, with separate shower, tub, and wash closet. Rooms had ample sitting area. Daily housekeeping and turndown service, including nice touches like daily chocolates during turndown service.
Location: Located in the West End area, about a 10-15 minute walk from Georgetown and 5 minute walk from GWU. Sort of a quiet, residential neighborhood. There are some good restaurants within a block or two (Rasika, etc.)
Overall, was a great experience. 5/5!

How can I start this review? Well… saying that I haven’t had a perfect vacation in a long time and the ladies and gentlemen of The Ritz made our vacation more than a memorable one. To start , Andrew from the front desk was more than nice. I am really impressed with him and how much care he put into our conversations and during our stay. I did not have the opportunity to meet Daniel in person but I spoke to him several times on the phone and what a gem he is. Our check in and check out were very smooth with Adeline. We had a one bedroom corner suite with lounge access. Our suíte was very nice, with plenty of amenities . The bed was comfortable and very cozy. The suite was very clean and every day it was very well maintained . The hallways and the property in general was very well kept. The Christmas decorations were up and gorgeous. The hotel is well located close to the main attractions. You can also rent scooters and bikes to see the city. We loved doing that! I have to say that the highlight of our stay was Chef Fábio Merano. I have NEVER met someone like him. He is extremely talented his food is not from this world . My son and I had the privilege to taste his masterpieces and we were more than impressed. If you are reading this review and you have the opportunity to taste his food you won’t regret. Besides his cooking expertises , he is an amazing human with a beautiful heart. His dedication and passion shows and we were very fortunate to experience it all during this trip Thank you again Chef ! . All of the ladies and gentlemen that work in the lounge are extremely attentive to details and it’s so worthy it to have access to the lounge. Senait, Jenny, Amber and Beri couldn’t be better. Thank you so much for everything !!! As you can tell we had a great time and will be back for sure!! Thank you again and see you real soon❤️

Truly phenomenal experience in Washington DC. We are a family of 6, our youngest is 14. This particular Ritz-Carlton is absolutely wonderful for a family staying multiple days for the 4th of July.
We booked rooms with Club Access, which made it wonderfully convenient for everyone to grab fresh breakfast before we headed out for the day, as well as fun snacks at night after a long day of sightseeing. DC in July can be really hot and humid, and the Ritz made it so that our teens loved the hotel experience.
I want to highlight the professionalism of the management and staff. We had a slightly odd interaction with one staff member in the Club, but the general manager of the hotel was impeccably professional and everything was smooth sailing. The hotel is well-managed and the staff are all so kind and thoughtful.
We were sad to leave, it was such a wonderful experience to celebrate the 4th of July in DC at the Ritz-Carlton.

Hotel is old and worn down. It feels dirty and unhygienic. Have a room on the 6th floor (although being a Marriot Bonvoy member and the hotel having 11 floors) which is dark and cold. The ventilation is running the whole time (windows cannot be opened) even if the aircondition is off. This old ventilation is incredibly loud and vibrating which is a nuisance during the day and absolutely annoying in the night. Feels like „sleeping“ on a boat directly above the motor. Maybe you don’t recognize when you have a room facing the multiple lane street which is a traffic nightmare in the morning. There are no gimmicks like night light in the bathroom or tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Staff is unfriendly, in particular in the Saga restaurant where they are serving breakfast. Location is mediocre, the good restaurants and shops are far away (but you have a gas station directly across). For the gym you have to pay USD 15 extra per person per day which is a joke and which they don’t tell anywhere on the website or during the booking process, only at checkin when it is too late. Summary: Not worth any money, go elsewhere.

The Ritz-Carlton DC (West End) is more like a Marriott than it is a Ritz-Carlton. I was surprised to learn how poorly appointed the rooms are. It was missing the basics -- a coffee/nespresso machine, a kettle, body lotion, a shaving kit, and a dental kit. I had to call down and ask for the the latter two items every morning. For a 5-star hotel, I'd expect the room to come with these very basic amenities.
As for the room itself. The heat/AC unit is extremely loud, to the point of being a distraction. I had to turn the unit off to be able to sleep properly. The room also doesn't have a proper desk. They expect you to use part of the TV stand if you want to sit down and do some work / have a meal. Overall the room is very dated. Equinox was also old and lackluster but that's not really RC's fault.
The toiletries are from Diptyque, which I am a big fan of and has a large catalogue of great smelling body washes/shampoos etc. I was floored by RC's choice of which Diptyque products to include in the room -- they smelled borderline bad.
Service wise, the front desk was very friendly/helpful. However, I ordered UberEats one of the nights during my stay and had to call down 3 times to get the order delivered to my room, which the hotel actually charges $5 for.
Will be going back to the FS DC next time I am in town. The Conrad is also a better alternative here.

Price too high for what you got. Servers were nice, savory was tasty, scones mediocre and really small, sweets were even tinier and taste was just ok. We walked in and were told we had to be finished in 2 1/2 hours since it was a timed event. We got 1 pot of tea each half full of leaves so by the time you are on your second cup it is starting to turn bitter. If you were able to get a 3rd cup, you do not want to drink it. At this point we were told they could refill it with hot water. (They never mentioned that before.) It felt as though the Ritz Carlton just wanted to make lots of money - $400+ for four of us, for as little effort as possible.

I visited the restrooms downstairs in the ballroom area today.
Upon using the restroom, I assume was the housekeeping lady, came in and loudly said out loud "I announced myself, I didn't hear you say anything. and this bathroom should have been locked anyways" and then continued to say out loud "I will then wait outside until you come out because I need to clean".
Once I was finished with the restroom and exited, I intended to address the matter to the lady but couldn't find her. I left the hotel to catch my Lyft ride and head to the airport.
This woman was incredibly disrespectful and completely invaded my privacy. I felt very uncomfortable and felt I had to rush out of the bathroom. and I do not appreciate her poor attitude and obvious level of unprofessionalism.
The front desk team was very friendly and helpful, but housekeepers' team severely needs to speak to this woman to address how she should properly speak to people. You can tell she just wanted to rush me so she can finish cleaning the bathroom, and THAT is not Ok.
VERY RUDE!!!

The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. stands out as one of the best four Ritz-Carlton hotels in the D.C. area. I have been fortunate to visit Tysons Corner, Pentagon City, and Georgetown as well, but this Ritz-Carlton has an unique charm. Its agreement with Equinox allows for easy access to any guests wanting to use these amazing gym facilities. For a $15 fee, you are able to use all the equipment, pool, steam room, sauna and executive room. It was worth being there during a rainy day and have access to this top notch facility.
In addition, the club level access provides a lot of convenience to any guest with five food presentations throughout the day. Jason and Nayana went above and beyond during our stay to make sure all of our needs were met. Kudos to Nayana for working by herself on a hectic Monday, where she handled all guests' requests and made sure that tables were clean, guests were satisfied, and everyone was greeted with a smile. Staying on the 9th floor or above will certainly make your stay extra special, especially if you want peace with a garden view.
Special thanks to Nina for the quality of service that she provided, even prior to our stay. She had a lot of patience in dealing with so many requests and made sure that we were satisfied with every detail. She is quite an amazing person and deserves a lot of recognition for her hard work, dedication, and making sure everyone is accommodated as much as possible. Thank you Nina for all you do and for being such a great employee of this hotel brand name.
I highly recommend that you book way in advance to secure a good nightly rate and room type. Parking fees are $59 per night, but it is worth it due to the hotel's location near West End and Georgetown. I would definitely consider this hotel and definitely recommend it for a future stay.

WOW!! What an incredible stay! This is certainly the best hotel I have ever stayed in in Washington D.C., and we travel here often. From the second we arrived until the moment we left, we had a wonderful experience. The room we stayed in was impeccable, there was literally not even a speck of dust to be found anywhere. In addition, all the staff was so helpful! No matter what I needed, they were always able to accommodate me. Truly a 5-star experience! I hope to return one day.

Our family has stayed here a few times. It may not be our favorite hotel but it is certainly in our rotation of hotels we use in DC area. Everyone from the front door to reception to housekeeping is friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are spacious, the location is useful to us and the club room makes a difference. We would not hesitate recommending to anyone.
