The Fairmont Washington D.C. Georgetown is lauded for its inviting atmosphere, with guests particularly fond of the enchanting courtyard and seasonal decorations, though a few areas could use a refresh.
While the spacious and tidy rooms are appreciated, some visitors note they could be modernized and quieter. The hotel's strategic location, within arm's reach of Georgetown's charm, dining, and historical landmarks, is a highlight for guests, as are the diverse amenities including a commendable gym, though the additional costs for Wi-Fi and parking have prompted some concerns about value. The cleanliness of the hotel consistently impresses, and the service is often described as exceptional, with staff members receiving accolades for their attentiveness and warmth.

Overall liked this hotel. Really pretty lobby, nice Christmas decorations, really cool gingerbread house installation. Rates were really good over Christmas. Confirmed connecting rooms with no issue.
Guestrooms spacious and comfortable, clean, well appointed (robes, slippers, coffee, Le Labo toiletries). Comfortable bed, good HVAC control, good blackout curtains. Housekeeping was good - we left notes asking for extra water and a working hair dryer and both requests were honored. Rooms were clean, shower had good pressure and nice hot water.
My 2 areas for critique are Pool/Hot Tub and Breakfast Buffet.
The pool/hot tub was one of our main drivers for booking this hotel and it was very underwhelming. It's part of an on-site fitness center and is very basic - the hot tub was warm but not hot. Water could have been clearer too. Having said all that my kids were fine with it.
The breakfast buffet was just ok - no oatmeal, only strawberries - no other berry options. Bacon and sausage were on rotation but servers were happy to bring bacon with no extra charge on sausage days :) They also brought oatmeal as well which was nice. Overall just lacking anything special - no omelette station, no fresh waffles, no unique pastries, basic fruit. It was fine, just not 5-star. We did pay for rate that include breakfast and it overall a good value. I wouldn't pay the menu price of $38 however.
The location was great for walking over to Georgetown and there were some things within walking distance - CVS, Smoothie/Acai bowl place, a couple of restaurants.

I stayed in one of the two Magnolia Suites for 5 nights and a Deluxe Room for 1 night due to a flight cancellation. I had a room package with the suite which included breakfast. The hotel is situated in Georgetown which is a beautiful neighbourhood and has many bars, cages, restaurants and shops to choose from, some of which are upscale. The nearest Metro Station is Foggy Bottom which is convenient for the airport and all of the major attractions and neighbourhoods of Washington. However, you can walk to many downtown attractions from the hotel if you are up for the challenge. One day alone, I walked just over 14 miles. My suite had recently been refurbished and was extremely spacious, well equipped, clean and comfortable and included a Nespresso coffee machine, electric curtains, light sensors for the ensuite bathroom, a six seater dining table, sofa, chairs, sideboards and two bathrooms with luxury Le Labo toiletries. My Deluxe room was clean and comfortable but was obviously a transformation from the suite. Breakfast was buffet style and the food and drink offerings were varied and of good quality. The waiting staff were friendly and efficient. There is an option to have breakfast a la carte, which is chargeable. I did not use the courtyard as the weather was inclement for the duration of my stay. The lobby and bar areas were comfortable and spacious and I had my Welcome Drinks at the bar, which were Verve Cliquot. I did not use the gym or spa, but the gym seemed to be popular with local residents as well as guests. The best thing about my stay was my interactions with the front desk staff, who made my stay really enjoyable. So a personal thank you to Kelli, Pip, Sudi and Sayed. I thoroughly recommend a stay at the Fairmont as its location is perfect for exploring Washington and is much better value for money than the downtown equivalent hotels.

Hubby and I are longtime Fairmont guests and truly enjoyed our first stay at Fairmont DC. Its ideal location tucked into an uptown neighbourhood made for easy walking to Georgetown or the many museums and memorials, and we appreciated returning to a quiet haven away from tourist crowds. There are numerous pharmacies, cafés, and boutiques just a block away in any direction.
Fairmont DC staff were warm, welcoming, and helpful. They accommodated our request for early check-in and put us in a spacious and comfortable room on the top floor, with a beautiful view of Georgetown U in the distance. Fairmont's comfortable beds and premium Le Labo toiletries never disappoint.
There was no mention of how to obtain the additional perks (i.e. welcome drinks) that come with our current Silver rewards level and the ALL app was a bust when I searched for more information. This wasn't a huge deal to us so we didn't bother asking for further help.
Elevators were quick our entire stay, even when one was out of service for maintenance. The courtyard was beautiful and we look forward to spending time there on a future, longer stay. Digital express checkout was a breeze and I received my detailed and accurate folio within minutes while en route to the airport. Overall Fairmont DC was positively wonderful, and exceeded our expectations. It will without hesitation be our home base for future visits to the US capital.

My family had an amazing 3 night stay at the Fairmont! The beds were the most comfortable out of the different hotel chains that we have stayed at and my 4 year old daughter shared multiple times how much she misses her “vacation home”. The rooms have true blackout curtains so it is easy to truly sleep in and enjoy your vacation even for parents of young kids. Service is impeccable and everyone who works here was so friendly when answering questions or with meeting our requests. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Internet is fast and reliable. We stayed in an ambassador suite which is a true one bedroom which allowed my husband and I to stay up and chat even after our daughter slept. My husband was able to take advantage of the gym. Balance gym is an independent gym but guests are allowed access. The gym itself per my husband was fairly standard and closes by 8pm. The location is great and is two blocks from a Trader Joe’s and about 15 minutes walk from the busier parts of Georgetown but there are lots of restaurants etc along the route. We will be sure to stay here again the next time we are in DC!

The Fairmont Washington DC is a great location within easy walking distance to view 4th of July fireworks from multiple locations. You do not need to walk all the way to the Mall to see the fireworks. There are several locations with great viewing spots a short walk from the hotel.
The hotel is easy walking distance to restaurants, shopping and other activities in the West End and Georgetown areas. Lots of great restaurants, shopping and site-seeing areas.
The hotel staff are very helpful in making recommendations for guest activities. They also provide great service to guests to ensure they enjoy their stay. Recommend having dinner or late evening snacks in the lobby lounge area. Great variety of comfortable sofas and chairs to enjoy a meal or snack. The bar and lounge staff are very attentive to customer requests for food and beverages. We enjoyed a wonderful evening in the lounge before walking to view the fireworks.
The front desk team members did an excellent job of checking in guests and inquiring if guests had any special requests for their stay. Great guest services.
Looking forward to returning again soon!

The Fairmont Washington DC staff provide excellent service from our arrival at the front door, check-in, in the lobby bar, outside in the courtyard Gin bar and especially on the Gold Floor. Everyone was ready to help with any questions or make recommendations that made our stay enjoyable.
The lobby bar and courtyard Gin bar are wonderful places for a cocktail and a variety of food options. The servers have great recommendations for food and a new recommended cocktail we tried was great. Something new we will try again upon returning.
The location of The Fairmont Washington DC is easy walking to Georgetown, DuPont Circle, Mall Memorials and Museums. Taxis and Uber/Lyft are readily accessible from the hotel which we used easily several times during our stay. A Circulator Bus also has a stop by the hotel with great routes around the city especially on hot days in the city.
Finally, the Gold Floor is highly recommended for the wonderful service provided by the Gold Floor team, the great food offered in the Gold Floor lounge and the well appointed rooms, especially the rooms overlooking the courtyard which are very quiet.

Pros: I'm an ALL platinum member and enjoy the Fairmont Fit program/gym. Angela the Royal Club operator was lovely, as were the front desk staff Opal and Kelli. I couldn't get the free Wifi with my ALL account to work but they quickly gave me a code to override the glitch. Non members have to pay $15 p/d for WiFi. Sidney in housekeeping is outstanding.
Cons: I wanted a suite close to the elevator but there aren't any. The more spacious (500+ square ft) suites are further down the hall. The elevators and lobby are freezing in the Winter. It wouldn't hurt to put an overhead or space heater by the front doors. The courtyard is lovely but the firepits were not in use, which was a bit of a disappointment. Air France has a contract with The Fairmont so you might get stuck behind 20 or so AF employees during check-in, but the line moves quickly.

Great location of The Fairmont Washington DC makes for easy walking around Georgetown and the West End. Other DC monuments and mall activities are a short drive or taxi/Uber/Lyft ride from the hotel. The DC Metro is also a short walk from the hotel that provides access to an extended number of areas in DC, Maryland and Virginia.
There are numerous restaurants around the hotel with a wide variety of cuisines to meet everyone's taste. We easily found great French and Italian restaurants during our stay. Recommend making a reservation especially on the weekend when many restaurants book up fast.
We especially liked the Fairmont DC lobby bar and lounge which is great for casual dinning in a vibrant setting. Highly recommend sitting at the bar or on one of the sofas that have tables under the large glass enclosed lounge area. Fairmont staff provide excellent service and recommendations for food and beverages.
Finally, the Gold Floor is highly recommended for the wonderful service provided by the Gold Floor team, the great food offered in the Gold Floor lounge and the well appointed guest rooms, especially the rooms overlooking the courtyard which are very quiet. Gold team members provide Great Customer Service in helping with places to see, restaurants to try and activities to participate in throughout the city! We will be returning soon.

This hotel was 5 stars but their restaurant The Juniper was not ver good for breakfast! The First breakfast I had was below average! Asked for overwell eggs and received over easy eggs. Had the buffet which was a small buffet of some fruit ,cereal, very overcooked scrambled eggs, and other small selections of breakfast items. Day 2 just ate off buffet once again scrambled eggs extremely overcooked (brown) coffee bitter. Day 3 figured I accept that the dishwasher must be the breakfast cooked so I ordered overwell eggs. Big mistake! Brown and dried!. This restaurant needs some real culinarily training if they r going to charge those prices!

We (me, my husband, 9 & 6 year old) stayed at the Fairmont for our recent DC trip. The hotel was very clean and nice, but we had a couple issues. One of the draws to booking was the beautiful pool. My girls were suited up & on their way down to it when we were told it was under construction & not available. After a long day, we ordered room service and went to stream a movie but you can only use the Chromecast feature if you pay the $14+/day WiFi upgrade, which I find ridiculous. When I called to ask about it and the pool, I was told we could use the Hyatt pool across the street, which we did, but it wasn't nearly as nice. The ice machine on our floor didn't work, we had to go up 2 floors to find one that worked. Some type of continental breakfast would have been appreciated. Otherwise, the housekeeping staff and bellmen were very pleasant and helpful and we enjoyed our stay.
