Second time at this hotel. Always a well run hotel with great customer service. Rooms, Main Lobby and corridors were all updated. Food quality was excellent in the main restaurant. Would recommend when in the DC area.
My wife and I stayed at the Fairmont for a long weekend to enjoy DC during the holidays. Throughout our stay, their service was excellent from the prompt welcome at our arrival, the response to a request, and the fast check-out process. In their gym,...More

At least once a year I come for an annual conference. Sometimes more often. I've never been disappointed. Many of the staffers have been here for years: that loyalty speaks volumes about the management of the property. My room was great -- on the top...More
My stay was very comfortable, quiet and with no issues. Everything was within minutes away. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. In room dining was perfect and quick. I would definitely recommend.

There are a lot of wonderful restaurants nearby if walking a few blocks is ok! If you walk across the bridge into Georgetown you'll find many! Go down to the water or just roam the cute streets. LOTS!! I really like Farmers Fishers Bakers (I noticed someone else mentioned that too). For something pricey, but special, try Fiola Mare. There is also a Pain de Quotidian on the main drag. Go across the street and have a wonderful meal at the award winning Blue Duck Tavern (also pricey but yummy!). Another wonderful place on Pennsylvania Ave (a short walk) is Founding Farmers and one of our favorites is the the Indian restaurant, Rasika - West End location. You'll see more all along there and in that area. I also really like Ris. There are a couple of Spanish (tapas +) places around there, Boqueria and Bodegas Spanish Tapas and Lounge. I haven't eaten there but have heard it's not as good as Boqueria - which we really enjoy! And of course, The Fairmont offers a nice breakfast! Enjoy!

The Fairmont is pet-friendly, but I didn't see any pets on our recent stay. There is a hypo-allergenic floor, the 6th floor, which is free of down/feather bedding and perfumes and sprays. The hotel discourages pets from this floor, but if it's the only floor with vacancy, they won't turn away a guest with a pet. So, I think it'd be very unlikely that the 6th floor rooms have had pets in them, especially recently, but it could happen. Hope this is helpful.
