Good Courtyard overall, but a couple of things ... Location is in an area that is being redeveloped about a mile/mile and a half from DC's main sites. Metro stop is right next to the hotel. Odd entry with check in on the second floor. Small lobby with a restaurant/bar open at 4pm-10pm only. I received a Marriott Bonvoy check in notice the day before arrival asking me what time I was checking in. With an early arrival, I entered 2pm (check in is 4, but check out is 11) figuring they could accommodate the earlier time. It didn't happen as the room wasn't ready until 4pm. If check out is 11, and they knew I was arriving early, I don't understand why the housekeeping crew was not told to get my room ready within the three hours prior to my arrival. I stay at Marriott properties frequently, so I hope they learn to use the system they developed asking about arrival the day prior. Front desk staff was very nice.

I just stayed 2 nights at this Courtyard property. I am Marriott Gold. The hotel (Ashley) reached out via email ahead of time to make sure any requests or questions would be answered. She was extremely responsive and attentive to my requests.

Check-in could not have been any easier. Assefa deserves special recognition. He genuinely welcomed me as if welcoming me into his own home. You cannot fake that kind of warm genuine hospitality. He made the check-in process smoother than I have experienced at any other hotel.

My hotel room was clean. My king size bed was comfortable.

The property is conveniently next to the NoMa Gaulladet Metro stop (red line) which takes 7-10 minutes to get to Union Station (1 stop) and Gallery Place/Chinatown (3 stops). It’s also an easy and affordable Lyft/Uber to almost anywhere in the District.

My only constructive criticism is to consider upgrading the long bath towels which seem to be worn down. They are functional, but the hand towel was fluffy like new.

Thank you for two good nights at your property.

Stayed in a 2 queen room for 3 nights. Appreciated that this is an updated hotel. Bathroom looked recently renovated, and easy to find outlets for charging devices in the room. The pool and fitness room were closed/under renovation, which was unfortunate since it would've been nice to access the drinking fountain located in the pool room. Our room was adjacent to the train tracks, but it wasn't as noisy as I would've expected. The hotel is conveniently located right next to a Metro stop on the red line. It's also just a few blocks away from Union Market, so some great food options nearby.

Service at the hotel could use some improvement. You need a room key for the entrance to the hotel, and when we first arrived at the hotel on a Sat afternoon, there were no staff at the entrance. We figured we were at the rear entrance to the hotel or something, so we wandered around the building looking for another entrance. After 10-15 min, an employee finally showed up, and we hurried inside, out of the cold. Despite having already checked in online, our room was not ready, and we were told that our room would be ready in half an hour at 4 PM, which is the hotel's check-in time. By 4 PM, the lobby was packed with people checking in. Multiple parties got their rooms before us, even though we had been waiting much longer. We ended up waiting over an hour before our room was ready.

If you want your room cleaned during your stay, you'll need to call housekeeping to make sure your room is serviced. This is mentioned in the handout that is provided on check-in, which we failed to read thoroughly at first. It would have been nice if the person checking us in had pointed it out to us or if there were signs in the room explaining this. However, once we finally figured things out and requested housekeeping, our room wasn't fully serviced. The trash was emptied, and some new toiletries were provided. But our beds weren't made, and the towels weren't changed out.

First of all i called this hotel prior to coming asking about their covid procedures and changes in their hotel, I was assured that they were following protocol and the hotel was open for business We have stayed 4 times at this hotel in the past year. My son lives near the hotel so we have continued to book. This particular trip my other son was meeting us from Richmond to spend some family time in DC. The rooms are small, we were upgraded last time automatically, this time we asked the front desk guy for an upgrade, knowing we would be spending alot of time in the room because of covid and we also asked to have rooms near each other, he gave us the side by side rooms and ignored our request for upgrade. He didnt even respond I should have known then. THE ROOM WAS FILTHY. We had lysol wipes and lysol spray since it being covid. The shower was moldy, the bedside lamp had heavy dust and some sort of substance on it, hair on the bathroom floor the half wall also had another weird substance. The hotel reaked of cigarettes and Marijuana and its nonsmoking. There was no indication that the restaurant wasn't open via the phone call and website so we needed to figure out where to eat. No one was ever at the front desk. There were two homeless people smoking Marijuana outside the hotel when we checked out. We have reservations in October we are going to look around. It was really bad. I only gave them 2 stars because in the past they were decent, probably should have been only 1.

It's all about location, location, location. Close to the Metro and Bus stops. Close to the Union Market area. Vacationing in DC, my friend and I stayed here for 8 days. We arrived on a Tuesday, checked in, was upgraded to a suite. The room was fairly spacious seemed clean, had a microwave, coffee/tea maker and a mini refrigerator. (honestly in my opinion all hotels should rid of carpet and fabric sofas which you can never keep clean and disinfectant properly) We did not request for housekeeping during our stay but requested extra towels which were delivered right away. The safe in our room was not working, when we left for dinner we told the front desk and by the time we were back, the safe was fixed.

The hotel location is not the most desirable as the 24 hour 7 Eleven attracts a lot of loud people that just hang around. If you are use to big cities, then you are familiar with the scenario and you just use common sense. The Duncan Donuts next door was clutch. I worked out in the gym every morning and would go pick up coffee and breakfast at DD for my friend and I. The location is perfect to walking to Union Market (Noma area) where there are fantastic restaurants and stores. We dined in that area at least for 3 dinners and 1 snack.

To note: the pool was closed, the gym, small but good, stocked with plenty of wipes and towels. The dining area closed, but they did open the grab a breakfast and go area with limited hours. The staff that worked the main desks were all very nice and helpful.

Would I stay here again? Yes

I spent one night at the Courtyard DC/US Capital, and it was such a nice relaxing stay at the hotel. The check in was flawless and the staff at the front desk could not have been nicer or more friendly. They had my room ready for me when I arrived so that I could get settled and start visiting the tourist sites in the city.

The room had a nice sized king bed and a large couch and sitting room with a view of the neighborhood. The bathroom was also nicely sized, and the shower was a pleasure the next morning. I slept so soundly on the bed I felt like I was at home. It was so comfortable, and I got a great night's sleep.

The location was about a twenty-minute brisk walk to all the sites downtown and to the Union Train Station so don't think the location is out of the way. It is also a brand-new neighborhood with all sorts of new apartment and office buildings and is right next to the subway station so you can go anywhere.

The only downside is that breakfast was not included like the two previous Courtyards that I stayed in Upstate New York but there are plenty of options nearby.

If you want a very relaxing and enjoyable stay away from all the hustle and bustle of the downtown or tourist areas, this might be the hotel for you. It is very quiet and relaxing. I would return to this hotel again.

This hotel is great for a long weekend in DC. Located less than a block from the NOMA/Galludet train stop for the red line, you can go back and forth to downtown attractions with ease. The hotel is new and well kept, and despite its proximity to the train station felt safe - there are doormen keeping an eye on the entrance. The rooms are spacious and well cleaned. It is close to a lot of train traffic, and that might be a problem if you're a light sleeper but it didn't bother us. Being in the very up and coming NoMA area, there were tons of great restaurants within walking distance, making the location even better.

Courtyard at Marriott was a great experience. The welcoming was warm and the area was not bad at all. The hotel was doing some remodeling but in spite of, was still clean and still in order. Parking here is a little steep if you want Valet Parking but, it is a great hotel if you are the Washington, D.C. area. It has public access to get to Metro and Trader Joe’s is in walking distance not even a whole block away. This is the best hotel in the area that I least expected to be this comfortable and so professional. The management here is so understanding and so sympathetic. I would always recommend Courtyard at Marriott because it is the best on the Northeast side of town.

Location is good. Lots of places to eat around. It was great to have a security guard in front of the hotel to keep others away. Front desk was very polite, although the service was a little slow. It sucks that they don’t have any parking unless youre willing to pay the $44 valet per day, which is understandable since it’s the city. My room had cigarette burn holes in the couch and carpet, which I’ve never seen at any Marriott I’ve stayed at. One of the cabinet doors were broken. I expected more from this hotel. But overall good, very clean facility.

The hotel is located a bit away from the city centre, but you can either take public transport (bus stop is right around the corner as well is the entry to the metro). They offer paid valet parking (50 $/night). The checkin was fast and the staff very friendly.
The room was spacious, but you need to ask that they clean the room, as it is not done automatically (due to covid).
We did not take breakfast, as we booked a brunch and the other morning we wanted to leave rather early.
There is a 7/Eleven next to the entrance. There is also a Trader's Joe and Dunkin Donuts and some other food possibilities in the neighborhood.
